I rolled out this morning Kids had the mornin' news show on Bryant Gumbel was talkin' 'bout the fighting in Lebanon Some senator was squawkin' 'bout the bad economy It's gonna get worse you see, we need a change in policy
There's a local paper rolled up in a rubber band One more sad story's one more than I can stand Just once how I'd like to see the headline say "Not much to print today, can't find nothin' bad to say", because
Nobody robbed a liquor store on the lower part of town Nobody OD'ed, nobody burned a single buildin' down Nobody fired a shot in anger, nobody had to die in vain We sure could use a little good news today
I'll come home this evenin' I'll bet that the news will be the same Somebody takes a hostage, somebody steals a plane How I want to hear the anchor man talk about a county fair And how we cleaned up the air, how everybody learned to care Whoa, tell me
Nobody was assassinated in the whole Third World today And in the streets of Ireland, all the children had to do was play And everybody loves everybody in the good old USA We sure could use a little good news today
Isaiah 57:7 HCSB
You have placed your bed on a high and lofty mountain; you also went up there to offer sacrifice.
After decades of being in bondage God is telling Judah to come out of their bondage, but it is the only life they have ever known. I believe this is still the issue today.
In order for a person to be saved from their sins, and live blessed life, they have to be convinced to leave behind the only life they have ever known, even if that life has them beat down and held captive.
The deliverance of Zion… Jerusalem. is a picture of worldwide redemption by Christ.
When Paul was discussing the importance of Gospel proclamation, he hearkened back to this passage.
Romans 10:14–17 HCSB
But how can they call on Him they have not believed in? And how can they believe without hearing about Him? And how can they hear without a preacher? And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: How beautiful are the feet of those who announce the gospel of good things! But all did not obey the gospel. For Isaiah says, Lord, who has believed our message? So faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes through the message about Christ.

The Good News Needs to Be Shared

Weirsbe- good news is for sharing. The good news we share today is that Jesus Christ can set the prisoners free.
Things I am proud of:
I believe after many years of challenges and prayer, Riddles Bend has many families who faithfully and systematically tithe.
We do such a good job with evangelistic events.
For the next long while, you will be hearing me talk about become faithful in sharing the Gospel with others.
I am working hard on how that will look and am excited to hopefully see us become Gospel sharing church regularly and outside the doors.
Our neighbors need to hear the Gospel.. We need to share it.
I want to point you to the business cards again. This is an ALWAYS WAY
The Nations need to hear the Gospel.

The Good News Needs to Be Received

The Book of Romans contains verses many call the Romans Road
Romans 3:10 HCSB
as it is written: There is no one righteous, not even one.
Romans 3:23 HCSB
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
Romans 5:8 HCSB
But God proves His own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us!
Romans 6:23 HCSB
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 10:9 HCSB
If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
Romans 10:13 HCSB
For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
Has there ever been a time in your life where you know for sure that you surrendered your life to Christ?
