The Old Testament was written in Hebrew, and the Hebrew word for perfect is “Tam”
Translation: for the perfected man in the book of Job doesn’t imply absolute sinlessness. Remember Jesus was sinless, Job wasn’t
It does signifies completeness, integrity, sincerity
He was perfected in the sight of God.
We see this righteous man of God, lose literally everything.
So, great was his suffering and tragedy.
His own wife said:
Job 2:9 KJV 1900
9 Then said his wife unto him, Dost thou still retain thine integrity? curse God, and die.

Jonah, was angry and wanted to run away.
God called him to go to Nineveh to preach to the people.
Jonah was angry, he hated the Ninevites, and want to see God destroy them.
So, he ran in the opposite direction, got caught up in a storm, cast over board, and swallowed by a giant fish. (A Wail)
A little girl was talking to her teacher about whales and how she had heard in Sunday School about how a whale had swallowed Jonah.
The teacher said, “It’s was physically impossible for a whale to swallow a human because even though it was very large mammal it’s throat was very small.”
The little girl remained steadfast in her position and reiterated that indeed, a whale had swallowed Jonah.
Irritated. the teacher again stated that a whale could not swallow a human; it was physically impossible.

15 But if ye will not obey the voice of the Lord, but rebel against the commandment of the Lord, then shall the hand of the Lord be against you, as it was against your fathers. 16 Now therefore stand and see this great thing, which the Lord will do before your eyes. 17 Is it not wheat harvest to day? I will call unto the Lord, and he shall send thunder and rain; that ye may perceive and see that your wickedness is great, which ye have done in the sight of the Lord, in asking you a king. 18 So Samuel called unto the Lord; and the Lord sent thunder and rain that day: and all the people greatly feared the Lord and Samuel. 19 And all the people said unto Samuel, Pray for thy servants unto the Lord thy God, that we die not: for we have added unto all our sins this evil, to ask us a king. 20 And Samuel said unto the people, Fear not: ye have done all this wickedness: yet turn not aside from following the Lord, but serve the Lord with all your heart; 21 And turn ye not aside: for then should ye go after vain things, which cannot profit nor deliver; for they are vain. 22 For the Lord will not forsake his people for his great name’s sake: because it hath pleased the Lord to make you his people. 23 Moreover as for me, God forbid that I should sin against the Lord in ceasing to pray for you: but I will teach you the good and the right way:
2 Samuel 12:15–23 KJV 1900
15 And Nathan departed unto his house. And the Lord struck the child that Uriah’s wife bare unto David, and it was very sick. 16 David therefore besought God for the child; and David fasted, and went in, and lay all night upon the earth. 17 And the elders of his house arose, and went to him, to raise him up from the earth: but he would not, neither did he eat bread with them. 18 And it came to pass on the seventh day, that the child died. And the servants of David feared to tell him that the child was dead: for they said, Behold, while the child was yet alive, we spake unto him, and he would not hearken unto our voice: how will he then vex himself, if we tell him that the child is dead? 19 But when David saw that his servants whispered, David perceived that the child was dead: therefore David said unto his servants, Is the child dead? And they said, He is dead. 20 Then David arose from the earth, and washed, and anointed himself, and changed his apparel, and came into the house of the Lord, and worshipped: then he came to his own house; and when he required, they set bread before him, and he did eat. 21 Then said his servants unto him, What thing is this that thou hast done? thou didst fast and weep for the child, while it was alive; but when the child was dead, thou didst rise and eat bread. 22 And he said, While the child was yet alive, I fasted and wept: for I said, Who can tell whether God will be gracious to me, that the child may live? 23 But now he is dead, wherefore should I fast? can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me.
1 Samuel 12:15 KJV 1900
15 But if ye will not obey the voice of the Lord, but rebel against the commandment of the Lord, then shall the hand of the Lord be against you, as it was against your fathers.

:
There are Five Stages of Grief.
Denail
Anger
Brargaing
Depression
Acceptance.
There is no set time for a person to stop grieving over a loss of a love one.
It’s different for everyone.
I have heard a person say, “There dead, there not coming back, just get over it.”
Grieving is important, and takes time for a person to deal with a lost.
Animals grief the lost of their master
Jesus grieved the loss of Lazarus
John 11:33–36 KJV 1900
33 When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping which came with her, he groaned in the spirit, and was troubled, 34 And said, Where have ye laid him? They said unto him, Lord, come and see. 35 Jesus wept. 36 Then said the Jews, Behold how he loved him!
John 11:35 KJV 1900
35 Jesus wept.
iii. David’s honesty with his own weakness’s gives hope to us who struggle today.
Psalm 38:4 KJV 1900
4 For mine iniquities are gone over mine head: As an heavy burden they are too heavy for me.
P
Psalm 42:11 KJV 1900
11 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? Hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, Who is the health of my countenance, and my God.
Psalm 42:

VII. Our Lord Jesus Christ.

Jesus Himself was deeply anguished over what lay before Him.
He knew what was to come.
He knew that God had called Him to a journey of great suffering.
He knew what must happen in order for us to live truly free.
Isaiah prophesied that Christ would be. “A man of sorrows and acquainted with grief.
Isaiah 53:3 KJV 1900
3 He is despised and rejected of men; A man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: And we hid as it were our faces from him; He was despised, and we esteemed him not.
Isaiah
b. In the garden, throughout the night, Jesus prayed, all alone, calling out to His Father.
Asking Him for another way.
Mark 14:34–36 KJV 1900
34 And saith unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful unto death: tarry ye here, and watch. 35 And he went forward a little, and fell on the ground, and prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might pass from him. 36 And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt.
ii. The Bible said great was His anguish that He sweet drops of blood .
Luke
Luke 22:44 KJV 1900
44 And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.
iii. We can be assured, that in whatever we face, Jesus understands our weakness and suffering.
c. What’s true about all these stories and many others like these, is that God was with them and had there backs.
Psalm 34:18–19 KJV 1900
18 The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; And saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. 19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: But the Lord delivereth him out of them all.
Psalms 34:
Psalm 34:18 KJV 1900
18 The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; And saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.
We often wish we could escape troubles,
The pain of grief, loss, sorrow, and failure.
Even the small daily frustrations that constantly wear us down.
God promises to be our source of power, courage, and wisdom.
Helping us through our problems.
Sometimes He chooses to deliver us from those problems.
When trouble strikes,
Don’t get frustrated with God.
Instead, humbly admit that you need God’s help and think Him for being by your side.
As I’m closing out this message, I want to give you a few scriptures that will help when you fall into depression, despair or become anxious.
Philippians 4:6–8 KJV 1900
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Philippians 4:6
1 Corinthians 10:31 KJV 1900
31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.
1 Corinthians 10:
1 Peter 5:6–7 KJV 1900
6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: 7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
Matthew 6:34 KJV 1900
34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
James 5:15 KJV 1900
15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
James
My favorite scripture verse when i’m feeling depressed.
Psalm 23:1–6 KJV 1900
1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside the still waters. 3 He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. 5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: And I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
