Instruction labels, do we always read them?
God has given us instructions, not only that but promises when we follow the instructions (Jn14:15; Psm119:11; 2Tim3:16-17)
For us to have the benefits and results of the equipment God has given us it is best for us to read the instructions and to apply them.
Simple instructions like
Or maybve

The Bible, God’s instruction manual that is good for
(expand on that and transition to next point)
I. Do God’s will
To do God’s will, you need to know it, believe it, then apply it (Rom12:2).
So applying God’s will brings God’s promises and God’s blessings.
So we keep His commands, we treasure His word, so we may know the will of God which is good, acceptable and perfect
Knowing is not enough, knowing, knowledge needs to be coupled with faith (Heb10:35-36)
when coupled with faith you receive the reward and what was promised!
A preacher once said
“A biblical promise is a declaration of God’s intention to bestow a gift.”
God wants to bestow a gift on us, part is in the form of His promises (2Pt1:4)
Promise application brings blessings, so now let’s look at 1Kng8 and a portion of that chapter.
God’s promise to David brought blessing to his son (1Kng8:22-24)
1Kn8:22-23
God had promised David that a house would be built, but not by him (1Kng8:17-19) Solomon was the one who was raised up to build the house for His name.
Solomon acknowledged the promise, acknowledged the fulfillment and gave God the credit for doing it!
(expand on this; may we do this always, give God the credit)
Solomon gives the reason for giving God the credit, so in turn they would know and they too would be willing, and do, God’s will (1Kn8:54-57)

1kings8:48
from prayer and supplication on knees with hands raised
to praise and adoration because of the promise fulfilled
Prayer, praise that lead to a challenge for application (1Kng8:58-61)
1KIngs8:60-61
Solomon wanted them to know God, know God’s will and to do God’s will by being wholly devoted (v.61)!
(expand on that; and lead to transition to having a thankful heart)
II.
Have a thankful heart
We need to know what we have in Christ, be thankful for what we have.
when we are it is will show in our actions and oftentimes lead us to share our thankfulness we have for God.
Don’t let it slip by, don’t be forgetful, be thankful (Jam1:17)
everything we have, every gift we have, physically/spiritually comes from the Father!
Be one of the all, not just one (Lk17:11-16; Add to it Psm103:2-5)
What I mean is look at this story, 10 healed but only one returns.
10 received the blessing, but only 1 gave thanks, so be one of the all who give thanks!
Lk17:13-14
Another good passage to add to this
Psm
For the Lord is the One who can impact anyone and everyone who is willing to know (Jn14:6; 2Pt3:9; 1Jn2:12)
For He is the truth (Jn14:6)
For he is patient
He is forgiving
He is the fulfillment of the O.T. promise
The promises of God demonstrate the character of God and the nature of God to us.
This also shows us what He says, He means (Heb13:8)
His character, His nature, His promises do not change!
Since we know this, we need to do some application in our lives as a part of our transformation process.
III.
Application Needed
If you have something and you read the instructions on how to use it what is the next step?
Application, right?
God’s instructions are not just for knowledge, but for application too.
Apply Trust (Pro3:5-6)
Apply faith (Eph2:8)
Apply obedience (act2:38; Act22:16; Rom10:9-10)
For without obedience it is all for nothing.
why apply?
we have hope
Apply hope (Psm71:5; 1Tim1:1)
And the N.T. update
Apply love (Jn13:34-35)
So when we apply trust, faith, hope and love there is a great result.
Though when it comes to application there can be much more, many others, but we should not be here all night.
IV.
Application Results
So you read the instructions and you apply them, the end result should be the result stated in the instructions.
Hope in the right place confirmed (Lam3:21-24)
Trust’s application result (Psm72:14-16)
Pm72:16
Love’s result (Jn13:35)
No matter our circumstances, no matter our position, our possessions or lack thereof, Gods word has the promises, has the application and the results needed to get the intended results (entrance into heaven and sharing Christ, proclaiming Christ).
Not following the instructions, or should I say applying, can have disastrous results.
Don’t do God’s will out of necessity but out of gratefulness with a heart full of thankfulness as a recipient of God’s greatest gift, grace by faith through Christ Jesus who is our hope and gives us our eternal promise to be fulfilled one day!
