The day of Pentecost was the birth of the church.
For the first time the Spirit of God would breath upon the life of the people of God.
This would represent the most significant change in the life of the people of God.
Up to this time God's covenant people was limited by heritage and culture.
The coming of the Holy Spirit changed everything.
Now God's covenant would reach beyond a single people group to the utermost parts of the earth.
For the first time the biblical narrative would be for a people empowered by the spirit of God.
