Oldtimers

A couple in their nineties are both having problems remembering things.
They decide to go to the doctor for a checkup. The doctor tells them that they're physically okay, but they might want to start writing things down to help them remember.
Later that night while watching TV, the old man gets up from his chair.
His wife asks, "Where are you going?"
"To the kitchen," he replies.
"Will you get me a bowl of ice cream?"
"Sure."
"Don't you think you should write it down so you can remember it?" she asks.
"No, I can remember it."
"Well, I'd like some strawberries on top, too. You'd better write it down, because you know you'll forget it."
He says, "I can remember that! You want a bowl of ice cream with strawberries."
"I'd also like whipped cream. I'm certain you'll forget that, so you'd better write it down!" she retorts.
Irritated, he says, "I don't need to write it down, I can remember it! Leave me alone! Ice cream with strawberries and whipped cream -- I got it, for goodness sake!" Then he grumbles into the kitchen.
After about 20 minutes the old man returns from the kitchen and hands his wife a plate of bacon and eggs.
She stares at the plate for a moment and says... "Where's my toast?

Who has ever had a new boss?

What are some of the questions you ask yourself when you get a new boss? (Use the Chalk Board)
You ask these questions because you are wondering if this relationship is going to be hard to maintain.
Am I in alignment with who the boss is?
For the past year we have really started to seek after what makes Perry Assembly unique and what do we do that we all gather around.

Who is Brett and Amy?

God has called us to lead this church into what I believe is another dimension that we have not tapped into.
The only way this happens is when we work together as church and in order for that to happen I am convinced we need to know what our leader is thinking?

My Life Verse

Exodus 33:11 NLT
Inside the Tent of Meeting, the Lord would speak to Moses face to face, as one speaks to a friend. Afterward Moses would return to the camp, but the young man who assisted him, Joshua son of Nun, would remain behind in the Tent of Meeting.
This is about my relationship with God!

My Mission

Genesis 1:26–28 NLT
Then God said, “Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us. They will reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the livestock, all the wild animals on the earth, and the small animals that scurry along the ground.” So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. Then God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it. Reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that scurry along the ground.”
Our mission is to see the Kingdom of God fill the earth.
Matthew 6:10 NLT
May your Kingdom come soon. May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.
I believe that we are going to see Heaven and all Gods glory fill the earth.

Transformation

tells us the Story of the Samaritan women who was transformed by the words of Jesus.
There are stories yet to be heard of people being transformed by the power of God.
I believe in transformation and I believe in our job to see lives transformed.
2 Corinthians 5:11 NLT
Because we understand our fearful responsibility to the Lord, we work hard to persuade others. God knows we are sincere, and I hope you know this, too.
2 Corinthians 5:18 NLT
And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him.
Reconciliation is not a race issue it is a Jesus issue.

Transformers

God has called us to be a transformer.
Matthew 28:18–19 NLT
Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.
Matthew 28
Disciples are spectators learning, but transformers are in the game.

Our Father Loves You

tells the story about at dad who let his son go and sow his wild oats.
The father loved his son and never gave up on him!
