INTRODUCTION
INTRODUCTION
Today I believe we have many who are in different seasons of life…
One thing I have learned is that no one has it perfect on this earth…
We all face many seasons...
So as I list these different seasons I want you to find which one you are ....
There are some here here that feel trapped in sin , stagnant in their spiritual growth.... guilty, ashamed… .... worried, anxious, helpless, or empty.
I believe their are some here that are guilty, ashamed… worried, anxious, helpless .... unsatisfied, empty.
you know which you are....
Did you know that God created days in each year way back about 3,600 years ago to address these real problems?
Did you know that God created days in each year way back about 3,600 years ago to address these real pains of the heart?
Seen in (go ahead and turn there)
These pains of the heart … trapped, stagnant.... guilty, ashamed… .... worried, anxious, helpless, empty. - are addressed in certain days given to us by God in Lev.
These certain days are known as the Holy days....
and these Holy days were not just to celebrate God but to help us!
I think it is so awesome how God made certain does of the year to help us with whatever we are going through!
What I l believe is a total work of God is that all those certain days that address our real issues are all in September this year (this month)
In fact
They are called... the Fall Feasts
the Fall Feasts
Feast of Trumpets - Monday 11/10 /18/ - deals with the trapped, stagnant - (:-25)
Day of Atonement - Wednesday 11/19/18 - deals with the guilty, ashamed - ()
No doubt there are some here who are worried, anxious, helpless..
Do you know what worry, anxiety have in common? Earthly circumstances… it doesn't matter how big or small they are.
Some of you maybe face the biggest circumstance you have ever faced…
I cant remove your earthly circumstance… and while God can… He may not.... He doesnt promise you Heaven on Earth… what He does promise is salvation by trusting in Jesus!
and when we place our trust in Jesus we may not be free from circumstances but we know our circumstances are temporary!
and when we live in eternity we wont care about how long we suffered or how bad it was all we will care about is how did I handle my pain…
Did I let the temporary circumstance destroy me or did I give God the glory?
Did God’s will cause me to complain or did I let God’s will reign.
You see when you worry and feel anxious you are keeping your mind on earth
but because of Salvation we can place our minds on Heaven
When our mind is on Heaven, our circumstances seem, short, small, and temporary..
Col
Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.
Feast of Tabernacles - Monday 11/24/18 - deals with the worried, anxious, helpless, empty - ()
The Feast of Trumpets, Day of Atonement, and Feast of Tabernacle - are called the Fall Feasts.... you may be familiar with some of the Spring Feasts.

The church age is the fulfillment of the 4 summer months.
"Did you know that the final huge moments of Jesus all landed on Spring Holy Days?” (explain on slide)
The church age is the fulfillment of the 4 summer months.
The 4 Summer months
mystery period since there is no Holy Days then
but since the Spring Holy Days speak of Jesus’ Ministry, and the Fall Holy Days speak of end times, so the Summer Months speak of today.
In the Fall: today/prophetic
In the Fall:
Feast of Trumpets - Repentance/ Rapture
Day of Atonement - Salvation/Permanent Removal of Sin
Feast of Tabernacle - Relationship with God/ Living with God Eternally
OPTIONAL:
there is 7 days of awe between Feast of Trumpets (rapture) and Day of Atonement (removal of sin) -
which is a picture of the 7 years of the tribulation.
what is intresting is that In the Jewish Wedding, the groom comes for his bride "like a thief in the night" to take (size / rapture) her away and into the bridal chamber for the bridal week at his father's house.

FEAST OF TRUMPETS - REPENT!!!!
FEAST OF TRUMPETS - REPENT!!!!
This feast really lasted 40 days (a month before the celebration of this feast till 10 days after this Feast (beginning on 1st of Elul- 10th of Tishri)
The 40 days was meant to be a time to establish your walk with God.
What is interesting is that Jesus also fulfilled this.
After Jesus baptism how long was He in the wilderness? and what was He doing? Preparing Himself
Some believe that Jesus was in the wilderness during the Feast of Trumpets.
By the way what was Jesus first words we read after the wilderness?
In Jesus said, ““Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
What happened after His baptism?
He was in the wilderness for 40 days being tempted by Satan.
So this shows us that Jesus had an established walk to with God.
What I like about this is the steps Jesus took before beginning His ministry.
Jesus first prepared His Heart (through Baptism)
Then Jesus proved an established walk with God (in wilderness)
Another interesting thing is what Jesus said right after being in the wilderness for 40 days. -
If its true that Jesus said this during the feast of trumpets this was the perfect time to preach this, because the Jewish people already had repentance in mind,
Also Just before the Feast many Orthodox men take a special water immersion (Hebrew, tevilah mikveh) to symbolize cleansing their ways. -
we call this Baptism…
which brings us back to Jesus.... what did Jesus do before the 40 days in the wilderness (was baptised)
In Israel I learned that the Jews would cleanse themselves in a mikveh (baptise) before worshipping God at the Temple....
I better understand what Jesus meant by repent for Kingdom of God is at hand… He was saying cleanse yourself
Just before the first day of the Feast of Trumpets.... the synagogues would blow the shofar, or ram’s horn to alert the people that the time of repentance is near.
For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words.
Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does corruption inherit incorruption. Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed—in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.” “O Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory?” The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
After these things I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven. And the first voice which I heard was like a trumpet speaking with me, saying, “Come up here, and I will show you things which must take place after this.”
Because of these verses it is believed that
On the first day of the Feast of Trumpets in the traditional Jewish home, the evening starts with the festival dinner with many of the customary dishes.
Then it is off to synagogue for the evening service.
On the next day of the Feast of Trumpets a good part of the day is spent in music and prayers with a theme of repentance

So this feast is the Spiritual New Year....
It is the day when the people of Israel examined their hearts and made the necessary changes to make sure that the upcoming new year will be pleasing to God.
It is the day when the people of Israel examined their heart and made the necessary changes to make sure that the upcoming new year will be pleasing to God.
So this day was a regathering of holiness and righteousness.Sometimes in the business of life we can forget to be led by God. This was a time to stop reevaluate your life, and regather the truth of what God wants us to do, and apply it.So this feast was to prepare the heart for the next feast “Day of Atonement” The reason behind this is that they believe that Moses went up on Mt. Sinai to receive the second set of tablets in between this feast of trumpets and the Day of Atonement, but came back down on the “day of Atonement”
the rapture should bring us to repentance

What is love? - it is longsuffering, it never gives up, it is faithful, and loyal, it is fully surrendered, does not hold back, it, patient of kind, doesnt think evil, always hopes?

DAY OF ATONEMENT - forgive
DAY OF ATONEMENT - forgive
This next Holy day deals with the guilty & ashamed! The previous with the trapped, stagnant… the next and final Holy day will deal with the worried, anxious, helpless, or empty.
No doubt there are some here who are worried, anxious, helpless..
Do you know what worry, anxiety have in common? Earthly circumstances… it doesn't matter how big or small they are.
DAY OF ATONEMENT - also called “Yom Kippur” - which simply put means the day to cover sins
Some of you maybe face the biggest circumstance you have ever faced…
this was a day to cover sins but they looked forward to the day of the Savior who will remove their sins!
This feast was 10 days after the feast of trumpets ...
Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Indeed, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.
The Day of Atonement was about sacrifice for sins…
DAY OF ATONEMENT - “Yom Kippur” - The Day of Atonement Leviticus 23:26-32 ( It is considered to be the most holy day in the Jewish biblical calendar)DefinitionAtonement means - to cover over, or pacify. (It didn't permanently removed sin, but it pacified the need for judgment.) Timinghappened once a yearon the 10th of the Jewish month of Tishreiso it was 10 days after Feast of Trumpetsaccording to Jews the Feast of Trumpets and Day of Atonement have a connection.because the feast of trumpets spoke of repentance and the Day of atonement spoke of the forgiveness of sins.which is exactly the common teaching of the Old and New TestamentRepentance must come before sacrifice.PurposeIt was a picture of the covering of the sins of the nation. But it looked forward to the greater permanent removal of sin of the individual. How It Was CelebratedIn between Feast of Trumpets and the Day of Atonement there was a time called the Yomim Noraʾim, (The Days of Awe)This was when the Jews would review their relationship with God and othersWhen reviewing their relationship with Godthey would spend these days looking inward, to see how their inner life might be more pleasing to God. When reviewing their personal relationships with others forgiveness and restitution would be made.On the day of atonement In Leviticus 23 it states that on the Day of Atonement Israel is to “humble your soul.” This is taken (based on the Hebrew word oni) to mean “fast”. In the context of Isaiah 58:5, this word is used specifically for going without food.So the Jews would fast for this feast (for more info on the jewish fast ask me, (Kasdan, B. (2007). God’s appointed times: a practical guide for understanding and celebrating the Biblical holidays (2nd ed.). Clarksville, MD: Messianic Jewish Publishers.)The Jews would attend a service.A part of the service included the reading of Isaiah 61Some of the classical rabbis believed this passage of Isaiah 61 would be the very words the Messiah would speak to Israel when He came (Lexicon, Rabbi David Kimchi, as quoted in A Manual of Christian Evidences For Jewish People, Vol. 2, p.76).The fact that Isaiah 61 speaks of the Messiah led other rabbis to believe that the Messiah would appear on a very special Day of Atonement in the Year of Jubilee (see Leviticus 25:10).Here is a quote from a ancient rabbi who believed this “The World will endure not less than 85 Jubilees, and in the last jubilee the Messiah, Son of David, will come (Talmud Sanhedrin 97b).”Now in Luke 4:16–22 Jesus goes into a service… and reads Isaiah 61 to the people. And the people understand, and say in verse 22 “isnt this the son of Joseph”Remember that they expected the Messiah to read this, and remember they knew the Messiah was going to come from David. So they understood what Jesus was sayingBut they didn't know that Joseph came from the line of David. and they rejected Jesus. What is interesting is that after the temple was destroyed in 70 AD so they stopped reading Isaiah 61But what they read today as a replacement is very interesting. They read Isaiah 53 - a chapter that describes the Messiah.I think God is trying to tell them something. It is crazy they missed Jesus in their service in Isaiah 61 then, and they are missing Jesus now in Isaiah 53.Leviticus 16 goes into great detail about the ceremony,Which is centered on the sacrifices of two goats One goat, called Chatat was to be slain as a blood sacrifice to symbolically cover the sins of Israel. The other goat, called Azazel, or Scapegoat, would be brought before the priest. The priest would lay his hands on the head of the goat as he confessed the sins of the people. (remember laying of hands symbolized a transferor sins. But instead of killing this animal, the goat would be set free in the wilderness symbolizing taking the sins of the nation out from their midst. The Day of Atonement ends with an important Neilah service (the closing of the gates). The final blast of the shofar is sounded. It is thought that the fate of each individual is sealed at that time for the upcoming year. Then they would break their fast in the break-the-fast meal. First they had a taste of wine.Interesting that Jesus the fulfillment of this feast said “He will not drink this wine until He is with them in Heaven” (Matthew 26:29)So Jesus in a sense Jesus doesn't break the fast…or end the feastTeaching us that with Jesus the Day of Atonement doesn't end.Salvation is eternal with Jesus.Next, the sweet challah or honeycake is eaten as a reminder of the sweet new year that we hope to experience. For most Jews, this is at best an optimistic hope that sins have been atoned for. But believers in Jesus can rejoice in the confidence that He, has paid the price that God required. When the Temple was destroyed in 70 AD celebrating the feast has become difficult (there are 3 different views on how to celebrate)Some Rabbis from the first century (in Jesus time) to now decided to make substitutions to fill the gap for a missing Temple. Tefilah (prayer), Teshuvah (repentance) and Tzedakah (charity) replace sacrifices in the modern observance of Yom Kippur. This is why the modern observance is so different than it was in biblical times.Today they are missing the main theme of atonement. Interesting how they can still do other feasts but not not this one that speaks of forgiveness of sin. (as Jesus said “I am the Way,)Other Orthodox Jewish sects Still see the need for a Temple and animal sacrifices to be revived in Israel. So in the “Temple Mount” in Jerusalem they are reproducing the holy vessels and priestly garments to prepare for the coming Temple. They have attempted to place the first cornerstone on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, They strongly believe that the temple will be rebuilt soon! This is scary because we know that the anti -Christ will rebuild the temple and demand to be worshiped (Daniel 9:27; 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4; Mark 13:14; Matthew 24:15)Messianic Jews - realize that Jesus removed the need for the day of atonement, because He has given those who believe in Him everlasting life.To learn how messianic Jews celebrate this feast let me know.for crafts and music sheets let me know.SummaryThis holy day is all about atonement. But this holy day has been replaced by a holy everlasting life through Jesus.RepresentThe church saved Christ - (a new life in Christ)
The Day of Atonement was about sacrifice for sins…
Which this is one of the first times that we see repentance before sacrifice for sins…
Example: the Feast of trumpets speaks of repentance then next came the Day of Atonement -speaks of sacrifice for sins;..... John the Baptist - repentance, Jesus - sacrifice for sins.
Teaching us that repentance comes first before sacrifice...
The sacrifice you desire is a broken spirit. You will not reject a broken and repentant heart, O God.
teaches us the key to understanding the Day of Atonement...
It says it is a day to “humble your soul”
But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.”
Teaching us that pride, and selfishness is our biggest enemy… because it tries to keep us from the grace of God....
Now pride has two sides … positive and negative...
Positive pride is what most of us think of.... it compares itself to others and thinks they are better…
Negative pride is often misunderstood as humililty… negative pride compares itself to others and think they are the worst....
Negative pride says “I am a failure, I suck, I hate myself, I mess up at everything, sometimes even says I am depressed”
This is not humility this is negative pride because your eyes are still on yourself...
C.S Lewis said “Humility is not thinking less of yourself it is thinking of yourself less”
So on the Day of Atonement it is about getting your eyes off your sins and onto the sacrifice.
Now I know their are some people here who need to get their eyes off their sins and failures and onto Jesus...
This also includes your calling… you may say I am a terrible musician, so I cant do worship… I am not social so i cant be an usher, I dont know much or am afraid so i cant teach...
We can focus on our failures, faults and stay down.... or we can look at the success of Christ and be lifted up
We either can look down on ourselves or look up up to Christ!
We can focus on our failures and get upset at ourselves.... or we can look at the success of Christ and be encouraged
So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor.
On this day the Jews would attend a service where they would read
Some Rabbis in Jesus time believed that would be the words of the Messiah when He came.
In fact one ancient rabbi said ““The World will endure not less than 85 Jubilees, and in the last jubilee the Messiah, Son of David, will come (Talmud Sanhedrin 97b)”.
Now in Jesus goes into a service… and reads to the people.
The Jewish people totally knew what this meant and they say in verse 22 “isnt this the son of Joseph”
Remember that they expected the Messiah to read this, and they knew the Messiah was going to come from David.
it is likely they didn't know that Jospeh was from the line of David..
What is interesting is that after the temple was destroyed in 70 AD so they stopped reading
Today they read - a chapter that describes the Messiah.
I think God is trying to tell them something....It is crazy they missed Jesus in their service in then, and they are missing Jesus now in .
Now between , and Jewish traditions there is 5 major events of the day of Atonement
First the priest would take a bull and sacrifice it for the sins of the himself and the priest
Second the scapegoat would be placed before the people and and alll the sins of Israel would be placed on the scape goat.
Second he would sprinkle the blood of the bull in the Holy of Holies and pour incense with coals on the mercy seat
note - the idea that the priest had rope tied around him when entering the Holies of Holies is probably a Medieval legend....
The Priest would cast lots ....one lot for the scape goat and one goat for a sin offering.
Third the priest would offer the sacrifice of a bull for this sins of himself and the priests...
after which the priest would offer the sacrifice of a bullock, and only then could the high priest enter the Most Holy Place, or the Holy of Holies. The priest entered into the Most Holy Place the first time to burn incense, representing the prayers of the priests, and then enters a second time with the blood of the bullock. The third time the priest enters the Holy of Holies is to sprinkle the blood of the goat on the mercy seat. He also sprinkles it toward (but not on) the veil, the altar of incense, and then the burnt-offering. That’s when the high priest lays the personal sins and guilt of all the people on the scapegoat, where confession is made over it and the goat is led away to die, sometimes pushed over a precipice to ensure its death. Then it’s the high priest’s reading and prayers in the Court of the Women before he puts on the golden garments to offer the burnt and other sacrifices. After this, he enters the Most Holy Place one last time where he offers the burnt offering and the other sacrifices.
Fourth the priest entered into the Most Holy Place three times...
the first time to burn incense, representing the prayers of the priests
the second time with the blood of the bull.
the third time the priest enters the Holy of Holies is to sprinkle the blood of the goat on the mercy seat.
He also sprinkles it toward (but not on) the veil, the altar of incense, and then the burnt-offering.

The High Priest would lay his hands on the scapegoat and confess the sins of the nation & then release the goat into the wilderness.
The goat shall bear on itself all their iniquities to an uninhabited land; and he shall release the goat in the wilderness.
This is true for us too! God has removed our sins far away!!!
What is interesting is that according to the Talmud (ancient Jewish writings) a scarlet cord that was tied to the neck of the scape goat turned white as it was led out of the city.
but it was reported that 40 years before the temple was destroyed in 70 AD (which would be 30 AD - during Jesus ministry) the scarlet cord did not change to white....

This is scary because we know that the anti -Christ will rebuild the temple and demand to be worshiped (; ; ; )Messianic Jews - realize that Jesus removed the need for the day of atonement, because He has given those who believe in Him everlasting life.To learn how messianic Jews celebrate this feast let me know.for crafts and music sheets let me know.SummaryThis holy day is all about atonement. But this holy day has been replaced by a holy everlasting life through Jesus.RepresentThe church saved Christ - (a new life in Christ)
I know there are some of you here that are guilty, or ashamed of your sins…
Jesus came to be a sacrifice for all sins!
He died for your sins so that you don’t have to die with your sins!
Maybe you are a Christian and you are focused more on your sins and guilt of it then on Jesus…
Like on the Day of Atonement get your eyes on Jesus!
We no longer have to live in our failures but in the victory of Jesus!
All He asks is for us is to trust that He paid the cost of your sins!
and when we place our trust in Jesus we may not be free from circumstances but we know our circumstances are temporary!
and when we live in eternity we wont care about how long we suffered or how bad it was all we will care about is how did I handle my pain…
Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.
COl 3:2
FEAST OF TABERNACLES - dwell
FEAST OF TABERNACLES - dwell
The previous feasts dealt with those are trapped, stagnant.... guilty, ashamed… This feast deals with the worried, anxious, helpless, or empty.
feel trapped, stagnant.... guilty, ashamed… .... worried, anxious, helpless, or empty.
The Feast of Tabernacles in Hebrew is Sukkot and means dwelling place.
It is the last Holy day in and it lasts 8 days (new beginnings)
Which is perfect because the Feast of Tabernacles is prophetic to the new beginning we look forward when we dwell with God for eternity....
Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God.
So this feast is prophetically fulfilled when all who belong to Him are finally dwelling with Him for eternity!
All the Feasts of the Lord have their own particular lessons to teach....
But because of its end times fulfillment, The feast of Tabernacles seems to be the highest point of all the other appointed times of God…
because the goal of God’s plan is to set up His kingdom on Earth.
All the other feasts lead up to this point:
Passover/unleavened bread - death of Christ - for redemption
Firstfruits of Barley - resurrection of Christ - for everlasting life
Firstfruits of Wheat -harvesting souls for the Kingdom of God
Feast of Trumpets - Rapture (repentance)
Day of Atonement - Glorification (salvation)
All these things needed to take place in order to dwell with God in the Kingdom
Because it was the last feast that spoke of new beginnings it was also a time of thanks to God.
In fact the first American thanksgiving was based on this feast.
The main purpose was spending time with God.... it was a time to dwell with God.
I believe John had this feast and its purpose in mind when he wrote
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
In this feast the Jews build tents outside... to remember when God dwelled with them
Many synagogues build community Sukkah’s (tents) so all worshippers can participate
this would remind them that God dwelled with them then and He dwells with them now.
This feast is why this feast is known as Zman Simkhatenu (The Time of Our Rejoicing).Because God provided for them, and dwelled with them
Many Synagogues have a community Sukkah (tent) to enable all followers of God to
What also is unique about this feast is that the Sabbath is on first and eighth day of this feast ()
The Sabbath is on first and eighth day of this feast () so Holy day services are held on the first and eighth daysBecause this is a time of joy, there are various processionals in which the congregants march around the aisles, waving lulavs and chanting : Ana Adonai Hoshiana! (Save us Lord!). That sounds familiar, in it says,“12 The next day a great multitude that had come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, 13 took branches of palm trees and went out to meet Him, and cried out: “Hosanna! (Greek for save now) ’Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’ The King of Israel!”I think they were acknowledging that God is dwelling with them through JesusNext the celebration starts at sundown of the first night with a festival meal. The table is set with the two traditional candlesticks and the best dining ware. But an exception is sometimes made with Sukkot since many Jews eat their meals out in their sukkot. So there is a more primitive setup as a reminder of camping in the wilderness of Sinai. Then the kiddush is chanted over the sweet wine; the braided challah (leavened) bread is blessed and shared at the table. Each evening of the eight-day festival, special blessings are also said over the lulav (palm branch) and etrog (a fruit from Israel). These two items, along with the hadas (myrtle) and arava (willow), form what is called “The Four Species.” They are wrapped together in order to be handheld for waving in every direction, symbolizing the harvest and God’s omnipresence over his world. It is taught that each of the 4 species represents a different kind of person. The etrog, which tastes sweet and has a delightful aroma, represents a person with knowledge of the Torah and good deeds. The lulav, which comes from a date palm, has a fruit that tastes sweet, yet has no fragrance. Hence, some people have knowledge, but no good deeds. The hadas is just the opposite, having a nice fragrance yet no taste (good deeds without true knowledge). The Arava, possesses neither taste nor smell, represents the person who lacks both knowledge and deeds. Perhaps this can serve as a reminder that faith without works is dead ().In each day of this feast of Tabernacles the Talmud (Jewish teachings) tells of a custom that developed in the Second Temple period (in the time of Jesus)During the Feast of Tabernacles a priest would take a water pitcher down to the Pool of Shiloach (Siloam), dip it in the water and carry it back to the Temple.Crowds of people would form a huge processional behind the priest, dancing, singing and chanting the Hallel Psalms (113–118) as they entered the Temple mount. For the first 6 days the processional would circle the Temple alter one time. On the seventh day the processional would circle the alter 7 times to magnify the joy (7 number completion)but The highlight of the ceremony came when the priest dramatically poured the water at the altar of the Temple. The response of the multitudes was so immense that the Talmud says “whoever has not been in Jerusalem for this ceremony has not even experienced real joy” (Sukkah 5)! So, this ceremony became known as Simcha Bet Ha-sho-evah (the Rejoicing of the House of Drawing Water). So why all the rejoicing for this water pouring ceremony? it wasn't just because of their hope for future rain but Rabbis refer to in regard to this ceremony:Isaiah 12:3 “3Therefore with joy you will draw water, From the wells of salvation. (Heb. word for salvation is yeshua, which is the Heb. name for Jesus)So this ceremony was to prophetically illustrate the days of the Messiah when the water of the Holy Spirit would be poured out upon all Israel (Sukkot 55). With this historical background, you can fully appreciate the events recorded on one particular Feast of Tabernacle celebration in the New Testament. “37 On the last day, that great day of the feast, (Feast of Tabernacles) Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. 38 He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.”Imagine the setting! The Feast of Tabernacles is in full swing. The joy of the first six days was filled with energy. On the great final day, At the very time of the water drawing ceremony, Jesus says “Do you want the living water of the Holy Spirit? If anyone desires what the this ceremony symbolizes, then believe in me. I am the Messiah who will pour out the water of the Holy Spirit on Israel!”That was a radical statement; and it created quite a stir in the Temple on that occasion. Now understanding this feast you better understand the NT.... and can see that the people were acknowledging at the time that God was dwelling with them as Jesus!
Now there is many other traditions for this feast but theres one last one I want to share with you!

turn there....dont read it.... just go there we will read it together...
On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.”
Imagine the setting! The Feast of Tabernacles is in full swing.
The joy of the first six days was filled with energy.
On the great final day, at the very time of the water drawing ceremony, Jesus stands up and cries out “if anyone thirsts come to Me and drink!”
He just said He is the
That was a radical statement; and it created quite a stir in the Temple . … we read in
Therefore many from the crowd, when they heard this saying, said, “Truly this is the Prophet.” Others said, “This is the Christ.” But some said, “Will the Christ come out of Galilee?
So some at the point believed immediately but some doubted...
Jesus is who he claimed to be: God dwelling in our midst!
Jesus is who he claimed to be: God dwelling in our midst! What a joy to experience the living waters of his Holy Spirit as described in the holy day Sukkot.
Today you can experience the living waters of the Spirit from the wells of Salvation as described in the holy day Sukkot.
But we are slaves to sin.... and are enemies to ourselves ....
We are slaves to sin.... we are enemies to ourselves .... and others cant hep us… the world is a big ball of slaves…
and the circumstances you face whether big or small have caused you to worry, be anxious, or feel helpless.
No doubt there are some here who are worried, anxious, helpless..
Some of you maybe face the biggest circumstance you have ever faced…
God does not promise you Heaven on Earth… what He does promise is that you can come to Jesus and drink from the living water!
I cant remove your earthly circumstance… and while God can… He may not.... He doesnt promise you Heaven on Earth… what He does promise is salvation by trusting in Jesus!
And when we drink from that water of eternal life our circumstance may not leave at that point but we will know that it is temporary!
And when we live in eternity we wont care about how long we suffered or how bad it was all we will care about is how did I handle my pain…
Did I let that temporary circumstance destroy me.... or did I give God the glory?
Did God’s will cause me to complain or did I let God’s will reign.
You see ...when you worry and feel anxious you are keeping your mind on earth
but because of Salvation we can place our minds on Heaven
When our mind is on eternal life, our circumstances seem, short, small, and temporary..
Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.
Worry & anxiety, often come from when we’re thinking a little ahead… but if we were thinking even further we would lack anxiety or worry… because there is nothing to fear in His kingdom
Worry & anxiety, often come from when we’re thinking a little ahead… but if we were thinking even further we would have no anxiety or worry… because there is nothing to fear in His kingdom
Worry and anxiety often come from when we’re thinking ahead, but if we thought ahead even further we would have no anxiety or worry. Connect with -set your mind on things above
When we see how big God and His plans are ....our problems will get smaller!
Remember the feast of Tabernacles is all about dwelling with God in His kingdom...
What suffering comes close to comparing to the perfect, peaceful joy of His kingdom?
For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever!
So look up toward Heaven! When the attacks come look up! When the worry comes look up!
For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
When we see how big God and His plan is our problems will get smaller!
We may not understand His will and why we have these circumstances.... but when we get our eyes off the circumstances and onto Him we will see that He is bigger
CONCLUSION
