SPEAK TO NEED
How many of you thought you knew what life was all about 10, 20, 30, 40 years ago and found out you did know what you thought you knew? That wisdom you thought you had ran into reality and fell flat... Anybody here been there with me? I that I knew what was important, what was needful, and thought I was wise, but...
Proverbs 9:10 ESV
10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight.
Yes, our responsibility is to search things out, because we can have very rough days and THE RESISTANCE IS REAL to what is needful to become we need to be. (NOT DISCOURAGED!)
Hallelujah, with him help and power is on the way!
PLEASE STAND WITH ME FOR THE READING OF GOD’S HOLY WORD!
2 Corinthians 5:16–21 ESV
16 From now on, therefore, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we once regarded Christ according to the flesh, we regard him thus no longer. 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. 18 All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; 19 that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. 20 Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. 21 For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
State Key Verse: Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. (2 Cor 5:20)
I like to preach this morning as the Holy Spirit guides from the thought...
State the Title: YOU WERE MADE FOR THIS!

YOU WERE MADE FOR THIS!

Prayer of Illumination: Father I come in the name of Jesus needing you more now than I have ever needed your before, thank your for your faithfulness through out history, thank your that your word is true, that your word is spirit and life… send down your word from your mouth so that it does not return to you empty, but accomplish what you please and succeed in the purpose you sent it.
INTRODUCTION
My first full time job was as a draftsman $4.50/hour I thought I had made it big time. It was a new experience, full benefits and college tuition reimbursement. I desired to be a mechanical engineer and I went to school at night. Also had the Montgomery G.I. bill and State tuition assistance serving in the Army reserve and Air National Guard. One day a new employee shared with me, Reggie you can make double somewhere else for what you are doing. He said you are not just drafting your are designing. He said nobody is helping you grow here are some books to help you understand the process. He opened up a new world for me!
In the same way Jesus opened up a new world for Paul when he met him on that Damacus road.
Who: The Apostle Paul writes this letter to the church of Corinth (planted on second missionary journey) and sends it by Titus hand. This is the 4th and final letter; 1 Cor was the second letter, the first letter as lost, the 3rd was the tearful letter possibly following his painful second visit.
What: A minority of the church of Corinth are still questioning Paul’s Apostleship; false apostles are now there in the church, Paul defends his apostleship of Jesus Christ because the Gospel and the spiritual life of the Corinthian Church is as stake.
When: He wrote this letter on his 3rd missionary journey.
Where: From Macedonia
Why: Paul’s focus is on the unseen and eternal. He desires his future resurrection; that this earthly tent is destroyed, but we have a building that is from God, and eternal house not made with hands. He prefers to be present with the LORD, walking by faith and not by sight. HE know that one day all believers will appear before the judgment seat of Christ; therefore he is motivated to persuade people of the truth of the gospel message… He is not promoting himself, but he has the fear of the LORD, he takes the LORD seriously and is compelled by the Love of Christ and sees things differently than before.

Our portion today identifies changes in our world view in Christ. But, how we represent Christ and His kingdom?

We must...

I. Know Christ is in Us (v. 16-17)

A. ________ We can’t stay the same when we encounter Christ; we used to evaluate people based on what they have or how they looked. But the evidence of Christ love show us that we are more that what we have and look like. There is a war inside between our old self and new self.

Romans 7:22–8:2 ESV
22 For I delight in the law of God, in my inner being, 23 but I see in my members another law waging war against the law of my mind and making me captive to the law of sin that dwells in my members. 24 Wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? 25 Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself serve the law of God with my mind, but with my flesh I serve the law of sin. 1 There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.
look at our text.
2 Corinthians 5:16–17 ESV
16 From now on, therefore, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we once regarded Christ according to the flesh, we regard him thus no longer. 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.

B. We have a fresh new start in Christ Jesus!

Galatians 2:20 ESV
20 I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
Our hope if Christ gives us access we can be bold about, it is not fading away.

C. What do you bring to the table______________? We were made to show the riches of his presence in our lives.

Our text today encourages demonstrate the divine provisions that every disciple and leaders in Christ. But, what must we do as disciples and leaders to demonstrate the divine provisions for which we were made?

II. Know God is for Us through Christ (vv. 18-19)

A. ______ Sometimes many of us feel like throwing in the towel, because of a myth that being a disciple and leader in ministry means your life will be comfortable. (Lie from the enemy) But it does mean that you know God is faithful and that you are going to trust him to bring you through to the life he promised.

look at verse 18-19
2 Corinthians 5:18–19 ESV
18 All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; 19 that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation.

B. We must learn to trust the almighty power of God to deliver us beyond any and all circumstances.

Romans 5:1 ESV
1 Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Peace with God
Romans 5:10 ESV
10 For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life.
We are not enemies of God no more, not disconnected or alienated from our help and hope, but reconciled to Him in Christ. We gain peace...
Philippians 4:6–7 ESV
6 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
You are a child of God through faith. God has made you new inside fulfilling his promise. We can handle what we are going through and unable to to avoid difficulties. Seems like we cannot function. Powerless to face challenges, but we have potential beyond ourselves. Impaired but He gives you the capacity, capability, and competency to function through the hell that shows up in your life. Hell is a literal place but it is also a state of mind, but the good news is that is that we may have to go through it but we never have to abide there; no you tell your situation I am just passing through; I will not live here. You are in a hell if you are feeling hopeless, lost, confused, lonely or abandoned, or defeated
Verbal participles
Afflicted – oppressed, caused to be distressed in difficulties, suffering (not crushed, restrict, confined to be distressed hopelessly with no escape) mistreated

Struck down – thrown down, to become fallen by or as if by receiving a blow, to be hurt badly (not destroyed or damaged irreparably) Physically

C. What were you made for________. No it’s not watching football; you can do it, but that is not what you are made for! We were at a WVU football game stadium was filled to capacity.... I sat is awe how we can celebrate almost anything outside of ourselves, but the fighting and winning inside of us we won’t shout, raise our hand, wont high five.

Our text today encourages to demonstrate the divine provisions that every disciple and leaders in Christ must. But, what must we do as disciples and leaders to demonstrate the divine provisions for which we were made?

III. Know where our Home is and Why in Christ (vv. 20-21)

A. _______Sometimes we can think that it is the difficult experiences that we are facing in life that disqualifies us from being used by God. Then we can start to doubt his ability to work in our lives; which frustrates our movement forward. The hell that you are going through is not just prove who you really are in Christ Jesus, but to also help others get through what you have been through too!

Look that the last verses
2 Corinthians 5:20–21 ESV
20 Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. 21 For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

B. Others may not see our cause and motivation for our sacrifice for Christ, but we must not forget.

Philippians 3:20 ESV
20 But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ,
Because all he has done for me I sacrifice for Him without disappointment. His love for me guarantees abundant life.
Matthew 5:9 ESV
9 “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.
So now I see my purpose is to continue Christ purpose and to help other have abundant life in Christ Jesus!

C. What were you made for________? We were made to go show Christ purpose through us.

Recapitulation: We must demonstrate the divine provisions we have as we, go show the riches of Christ presence in us, go show the greatness of Christ power for us, and go show the working of Christ purpose through us.
Exhortation ; That’ll Preach! Final Application
Dr. King once said, “Life is not worth living until you have found something worth dying for. There are many things I want, and want to get done that I die to and that I sacrificed so that my wife, my children, and my church can have abundantly life in Christ Jesus!
Sometimes I can feel mistreated
Sometimes I can feel like I loosing my mind
Sometimes I can feel like I am all by myself
Sometimes I can feel like I am hurt beyond repair
Then I remembered that we have this treasure in earthen vessel to show the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us.
Then I remembered I was made of this!!!
I was made to be the head and not the tail
I was made to be more than a conquerer in Christ Jesus
I was made to go through the fire and not even smell like smoke
I was made to make life better for somebody else
I was made for this, I know was made for this, I was made for this
I WAS MADED TO BE HIS WITNESS!
I REPRESENT CHRIST; WE ARE AMBASSADORS FOR CHRIST; BEING NEW IN CHRIST, BEING RECONCILED THROUGH CHRIST TO GOD, AND PURSUADING OTHERS TO BE RECONCILE TO GOD.
WHO DO YOU REPRESENT?
DO YOU WANT TO SEE THE OLD BECOME NEW? DO YOU WANT NEW LIFE IN CHRIST JESUS? HE REPRESENTED YOU SO THAT YOU CAN HAVE LIFE AND HAVE IT MORE ABUNDANTLY.
Decided you want to receive Christ as Savior/Re-dedicate your life to Him: Come an receive Christ today… He came to give you brand new life, new life abundantly; why don’t you come.... We offer Christ to you my brother my sister, come, come on to Christ.
(Christian experience and know Jesus as Savior and Lord)Decided you want be a member of this Church: To Come an have Christ power for your life and His purpose working through.
