Prayer of Illumination: Father I come in the name of Jesus needing you more now than I have ever needed your before, thank your for your faithfulness through out history, thank your that your word is true, that your word is spirit and life… send down your word from your mouth so that it does not return to you empty, but accomplish what you please and succeed in the purpose you sent it.
INTRODUCTION
My first full time job was as a draftsman $4.50/hour
I thought I had made it big time.
It was a new experience, full benefits and college tuition reimbursement.
I desired to be a mechanical engineer and I went to school at night.
Also had the Montgomery G.I. bill and State tuition assistance serving in the Army reserve and Air National Guard.
One day a new employee shared with me, Reggie you can make double somewhere else for what you are doing.
He said you are not just drafting your are designing.
He said nobody is helping you grow here are some books to help you understand the process.
He opened up a new world for me!
In the same way Jesus opened up a new world for Paul when he met him on that Damacus road.
Who: The Apostle Paul writes this letter to the church of Corinth (planted on second missionary journey) and sends it by Titus hand.
This is the 4th and final letter; 1 Cor was the second letter, the first letter as lost, the 3rd was the tearful letter possibly following his painful second visit.
What: A minority of the church of Corinth are still questioning Paul’s Apostleship; false apostles are now there in the church, Paul defends his apostleship of Jesus Christ because the Gospel and the spiritual life of the Corinthian Church is as stake.
When: He wrote this letter on his 3rd missionary journey.
Where: From Macedonia
Why: Paul’s focus is on the unseen and eternal.
He desires his future resurrection; that this earthly tent is destroyed, but we have a building that is from God, and eternal house not made with hands.
He prefers to be present with the LORD, walking by faith and not by sight.
HE know that one day all believers will appear before the judgment seat of Christ; therefore he is motivated to persuade people of the truth of the gospel message… He is not promoting himself, but he has the fear of the LORD, he takes the LORD seriously and is compelled by the Love of Christ and sees things differently than before.
Our portion today identifies changes in our world view in Christ.
But, how we represent Christ and His kingdom?
We must...
I. Know Christ is in Us (v.
16-17)
A. ________ We can’t stay the same when we encounter Christ; we used to evaluate people based on what they have or how they looked.
But the evidence of Christ love show us that we are more that what we have and look like.
There is a war inside between our old self and new self.

B. We have a fresh new start in Christ Jesus!
Our hope if Christ gives us access we can be bold about, it is not fading away.
C. What do you bring to the table______________?
We were made to show the riches of his presence in our lives.
Our text today encourages demonstrate the divine provisions that every disciple and leaders in Christ.
But, what must we do as disciples and leaders to demonstrate the divine provisions for which we were made?
II.
Know God is for Us through Christ (vv.
18-19)
A. ______ Sometimes many of us feel like throwing in the towel, because of a myth that being a disciple and leader in ministry means your life will be comfortable.
(Lie from the enemy) But it does mean that you know God is faithful and that you are going to trust him to bring you through to the life he promised.

B. We must learn to trust the almighty power of God to deliver us beyond any and all circumstances.
Peace with God
We are not enemies of God no more, not disconnected or alienated from our help and hope, but reconciled to Him in Christ.
We gain peace...
You are a child of God through faith.
God has made you new inside fulfilling his promise.We can handle what we are going through and unable to to avoid difficulties.
Seems like we cannot function.
Powerless to face challenges, but we have potential beyond ourselves.
Impaired but He gives you the capacity, capability, and competency to function through the hell that shows up in your life.
Hell is a literal place but it is also a state of mind, but the good news is that is that we may have to go through it but we never have to abide there; no you tell your situation I am just passing through; I will not live here.
You are in a hell if you are feeling hopeless, lost, confused, lonely or abandoned, or defeated

No it’s not watching football; you can do it, but that is not what you are made for!
We were at a WVU football game stadium was filled to capacity....
I sat is awe how we can celebrate almost anything outside of ourselves, but the fighting and winning inside of us we won’t shout, raise our hand, wont high five.
Our text today encourages to demonstrate the divine provisions that every disciple and leaders in Christ must.
But, what must we do as disciples and leaders to demonstrate the divine provisions for which we were made?
III.
Know where our Home is and Why in Christ (vv.
20-21)
A. _______Sometimes we can think that it is the difficult experiences that we are facing in life that disqualifies us from being used by God.
Then we can start to doubt his ability to work in our lives; which frustrates our movement forward.
The hell that you are going through is not just prove who you really are in Christ Jesus, but to also help others get through what you have been through too!
Look that the last verses
B. Others may not see our cause and motivation for our sacrifice for Christ, but we must not forget.
Because all he has done for me I sacrifice for Him without disappointment.
His love for me guarantees abundant life.
So now I see my purpose is to continue Christ purpose and to help other have abundant life in Christ Jesus!
C. What were you made for________?
We were made to go show Christ purpose through us.
Recapitulation: We must demonstrate the divine provisions we have as we, go show the riches of Christ presence in us, go show the greatness of Christ power for us, and go show the working of Christ purpose through us.

Final Application
Dr. King once said, “Life is not worth living until you have found something worth dying for.
There are many things I want, and want to get done that I die to and that I sacrificed so that my wife, my children, and my church can have abundantly life in Christ Jesus!
Sometimes I can feel mistreated
Sometimes I can feel like I loosing my mind
Sometimes I can feel like I am all by myself
Sometimes I can feel like I am hurt beyond repair
Then I remembered that we have this treasure in earthen vessel to show the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us.
Then I remembered I was made of this!!!
I was made to be the head and not the tail
I was made to be more than a conquerer in Christ Jesus
