Just like during the time of Elisha, we need to understand that the physical world that we see is not the only world that exists.
There is another world—the Super-Natural—world.
In the super natural—the invisible spirits exist and are constantly at war.
If God were to open our eyes to see the spiritual realities that exist beyond the natural eye—we too would see thousands of spiritual beings waring against one another all around us.

Two Errors We Must Avoid:
Spirituality is Primitive
born of the modern era and was born out of the scientific revolution—at least in popular culture.
Many people in our culture are convinced that religion and spirituality are just a result of our evolved biology.
They reason that we have a bent toward religion because of the physical benefits of believing that there is life after death.
We evolved psychologically as beings who naturally must believe that there is something or someone that is beyond us.
But—they reason—that this just is simply not apart of reality.
Understand, I am not saying that believing in evolution means that you must believe that spirituality does not exist.
There are plenty of strong Christian people that firmly believe in the inspiration and inherency of scripture and believe in Theistic Evolution—That is, that God created through some evolutionary means.
(Over the course of six “stages” or time periods).
Spirituality is not Prevalent
Others believe the spiritual world is real, but that it just isn't as prevalent as it once was.
There are many reasons that people who believe this give, but the main one is that people just do not believe in what they cannot see.
People who believe that Spiritual Warfare just is not prevalent may say they believe in spirituality, but they live just like those who believe it is just primitive.
I met a guy at Southern Miss last year that told me he was an “apatheist.”
It wasnt that he didnt believe in God, he just didnt care—and chose to never think about it.
We are Involved in Spiritual War
