SPEAK TO NEED
Come Alive, Worth IT, You are a Finisher, Making a difference. Many of us are resistant to change to relinquish control, even through the change may benefit us. CHRIST DIED AND ROSE AGAIN SO THAT FIGHT CAN BE REAL AND WON IN OUR LIVES! BUT WE CAN BE RESISTANT TO THE SIMPLICITY OF THE GOSPEL MESSAGE!
1 Corinthians 1:18 ESV
18 For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
IT DON’T MATTER IF YOU ARE UPPER CLASS, MIDDLE CLASS, POOR, BLACK, WHITE, PURPLE, OR UNDECIDED... THE GOSPEL MESSAGE IS THE SAME… AM I RIGHT ABOUT IT? THAT’S GOOD NEWS!
Hallelujah!!!
PLEASE STAND WITH ME FOR THE READING OF GOD’S HOLY WORD!
2 Corinthians 11:1–6 ESV
1 I wish you would bear with me in a little foolishness. Do bear with me! 2 For I feel a divine jealousy for you, since I betrothed you to one husband, to present you as a pure virgin to Christ. 3 But I am afraid that as the serpent deceived Eve by his cunning, your thoughts will be led astray from a sincere and pure devotion to Christ. 4 For if someone comes and proclaims another Jesus than the one we proclaimed, or if you receive a different spirit from the one you received, or if you accept a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it readily enough. 5 Indeed, I consider that I am not in the least inferior to these super-apostles. 6 Even if I am unskilled in speaking, I am not so in knowledge; indeed, in every way we have made this plain to you in all things.
State Key Verse: But I am afraid that as the serpent deceived Eve by his cunning, your thoughts will be led astray from a sincere and pure devotion to Christ.. (2 COR 11:3)
I like to preach this morning as the Holy Spirit guides from the thought...
State the Title: STAY ON MESSAGE <Tells somebody THINGS CAN LOOK BETTER OR WORSE NOT MATTER WHAT… STAY ON MESSAGE!

STAY ON MESSAGE!

Prayer of Illumination: Father, send your Holy Spirit and fill us that our hearts are receptive to your word. Help me to be faithful to your word, give me clarity needful for our journey, give me your power to preach with the authority you have given, and passion for your glory to be revealed, guide us by your wisdom, may I decrease and you INCREASE LORD JESUS and set all captives free, loosen every chain in Jesus name.
INTRODUCTION
I was born in raised in North West Baltimore 21215… One of my best friends was shot in the 7th grade, as a result many of us never went anyway alone. In spite of the culture that was forcing its way into our lives many of us through support of loved ones pressed our way to school and took opportunities to see life beyond our neighborhood. Military basic training, I looked forward to and enjoyed, and I had seen weapons of war beyond my neighborhood experience and it gave me a new perspective! R
Paul is now in the LORD’s Army and He has seen weapons beyond hi neighborhood and experience and now he has a new perspective...
Who: The Apostle Paul writes this letter to the church of Corinth (planted on second missionary journey) and sends it by Titus hand. This is the 4th and final letter; 1 Cor was the second letter, the first letter as lost, the 3rd was the tearful letter possibly following his painful second visit.
What: A minority of the church of Corinth are still questioning Paul’s Apostleship; false apostles are now there in the church, Paul defends his apostleship of Jesus Christ because the Gospel and the spiritual life of the Corinthian Church is as stake.
When: He wrote this letter on his 3rd missionary journey.
Where: From Macedonia
Why: Chapter 10 brings an abrupt shift in tone as Paul responds to his opponents who have made severay allegations against him. That he talked a good talk, but had no power to back it up.

In our text today Paul expounds on His motives for ministry contrasting that of his opposition. But, what are Paul’s motives reveal, so that our actions can speak the same deep concern for God’s people?

For the Church we see...

I. HIS SACRIFICE TO CHRIST (vv. 1-2)

A. ________ To be consistent and dependable requires sacrifice. Anybody here ever had somebody mistake your gentleness for weakness? Thinking you some kind of pushover, naive, and easy to manipulate? That’s what people are saying about Paul that he is weak and unimpressive.

Exodus 34:14 ESV
14 (for you shall worship no other god, for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God),
But Paul knew that in Christ he is everything but weak? He has power in Christ Jesus the world has yet to see… When your realize your potential; people can talk all they want to but you recognize the greatness inside of you!
look at our text.
2 Corinthians 11:1–2 ESV
1 I wish you would bear with me in a little foolishness. Do bear with me! 2 For I feel a divine jealousy for you, since I betrothed you to one husband, to present you as a pure virgin to Christ.
LISTEN PAUL IS NOW EVEN TEMPERED (POWER UNDER CONTROL) WITH TOLERANCE AND COMPASSION FOR GOD’S PEOPLE.

B. TODAY IT IS CUSTOMARY FOR THE FATHER OF THE BRIDE TO TAKE CARE OF THE WEDDING ARRANGEMENTS AND GUARANTEEING THE CHASTITY OF HIS DAUGHTER.

Ephesians 5:25–27 ESV
25 Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, 26 that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, 27 so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish.
THIS IS A SPIRITUAL MOVE OF GOD!!!!

C. NO MATTER WHAT______________ LIVE ON MESSAGE? We are to offer our bodies as living sacrifices holy and acceptable to God this is our worship.

In our text today Paul expounds on His motives for ministry contrasting that of his opposition. But, what are Paul’s motives reveal, so that our actions can speak the same deep concern for God’s people?
For the Church we see...

II. HIS SUFFERING IN CHRIST (vv. 3-4)

A. ______ Without suffering how would one know what is really important. Just because someone has a strong personality don’t mean they are more effective in life than other. Just because someone has human wisdom, abilities, talents, or even great physical abilities don’t mean they are overcomers. They might seem to get by but they won’t win. And Paul like many of us had to learn this the hard way...

Matthew 7:14 ESV
14 For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.
watch this; Paul knows better now...
2 Corinthians 11:3–4 ESV
3 But I am afraid that as the serpent deceived Eve by his cunning, your thoughts will be led astray from a sincere and pure devotion to Christ. 4 For if someone comes and proclaims another Jesus than the one we proclaimed, or if you receive a different spirit from the one you received, or if you accept a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it readily enough.

B. AS BELIEVERS WE MUST BEWARE OF CORRUPTION OF FALSE TEACHING, TAKING EVERY THOUGHT CAPTIVE TO THE OBEIDENCE OF CHRIST.

How many of you have learned to fight differently? Why?
The flesh is weak but the spirit is strong, so we don’t walk after the flesh but the spirit.
Ephesians 2:8–9 ESV
8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast.

C. No matter what________ GROW THROUGH THE MESSAGE!

In our text today Paul expounds on His motives for ministry contrasting that of his opposition. But, what are Paul’s motives reveal so that our actions can speak the same deep concern for God’s people?
For the Church we see...

III. His Service For Christ (vv. 4-6)

A. _______ Real service can’t be paid for with earthly wages. When we compare ourselves to others their gifts can intimidate or make us feel small and insignificant. Why? Because we have not invested time into looking at who you really are?

Psalm 139:14 ESV
14 I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.
Look; Paul now knows who he is in Christ.
2 Corinthians 11:5–6 ESV
5 Indeed, I consider that I am not in the least inferior to these super-apostles. 6 Even if I am unskilled in speaking, I am not so in knowledge; indeed, in every way we have made this plain to you in all things.

B. As Believers we should beware of comparing ourselves or ministers to one another.

To destroy strongholds - strongholds are a situation, a habit, or and condition that holds a person hostage. It entraps you and doesn’t let you out. A defensive military structure.
To destroy both arguments - calculation, reasoning, reflection, and thought
To destroy lofty opinion raise against the knowledge of God - a partition designed to block the knowledge of God from entering your thinking. To block the flow of spiritual truth in your life. To make things right!!!
2 Corinthians 11:13–14 ESV
13 For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. 14 And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.
Our armor of God (Eph 6:10-20) to fight the forces are darkness to move forward with God are TRUTH, RIGHTEOUSNESS, PEACE, FAITH, SALVATION, and the WORD OF GOD!
2 Corinthians 11:20–28 ESV
20 For you bear it if someone makes slaves of you, or devours you, or takes advantage of you, or puts on airs, or strikes you in the face. 21 To my shame, I must say, we were too weak for that! But whatever anyone else dares to boast of—I am speaking as a fool—I also dare to boast of that. 22 Are they Hebrews? So am I. Are they Israelites? So am I. Are they offspring of Abraham? So am I. 23 Are they servants of Christ? I am a better one—I am talking like a madman—with far greater labors, far more imprisonments, with countless beatings, and often near death. 24 Five times I received at the hands of the Jews the forty lashes less one. 25 Three times I was beaten with rods. Once I was stoned. Three times I was shipwrecked; a night and a day I was adrift at sea; 26 on frequent journeys, in danger from rivers, danger from robbers, danger from my own people, danger from Gentiles, danger in the city, danger in the wilderness, danger at sea, danger from false brothers; 27 in toil and hardship, through many a sleepless night, in hunger and thirst, often without food, in cold and exposure. 28 And, apart from other things, there is the daily pressure on me of my anxiety for all the churches.
Paul had a sold out life for the Lord. THEY CAN TALK A GOOD GAME BUT I AM LIVING IT OUT! IF IT WAS NOT FOR JESUS I WOULD HAVE GIVEN UP ON ALLOT OF THINGS ALONG TIME AGO! PAUL HAS SEEN THIS BEFORE, PEOPLE CHALLENGE HIS PEDIGREE AND APOSTLESHIP AND SAYS IN GALATIANS…
Galatians 6:17 ESV
17 From now on let no one cause me trouble, for I bear on my body the marks of Jesus.
You can’t bypass the cross to have real power; the cross is a prerequesit to the resurrection power of Christ.
Philippians 3:10 ESV
10 that I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death,

C. No matter what________ SERVE WITH THE MESSAGE? WE MUST FIGHT DIFFERENTLY!!! THERE IS TOO MUCH AT STAKE! LIFE IS THE GREATEST WE HAVE.

Recapitulation: Paul's motivations for ministry reveals his sacrifice, suffering, and service to the church that we too can demonstrate the same deep concern for God's people.
Exhortation ; That’ll Preach! Final Application
GOD DOES NOT JUST WANT TO BE RESIDENT IN YOUR LIFE; HE WANTS TO BE THE PRESIDENT OF YOUR LIFE!!! E.K. BAILEY
JESUS CHRIST can to serve, suffered, and sacrificed his life for us that GOD might be the number on priority in our lives.Physical violence used to be Paul’s way to fight and many today still believe that physical violence can strengthen their cause. Yet a woman right to vote was won by none violence, civil rights movement was won by none violence, and Christ won our salvation by none violence. Power to change things…comes not by human power or earthly might, but the Spirit of the LORD! IT’S A Spiritual Movement!
