STAY ON MESSAGE!
Prayer of Illumination: Father, send your Holy Spirit and fill us that our hearts are receptive to your word.
Help me to be faithful to your word, give me clarity needful for our journey, give me your power to preach with the authority you have given, and passion for your glory to be revealed, guide us by your wisdom, may I decrease and you INCREASE LORD JESUS and set all captives free, loosen every chain in Jesus name.
INTRODUCTION
I was born in raised in North West Baltimore 21215… One of my best friends was shot in the 7th grade, as a result many of us never went anyway alone.
In spite of the culture that was forcing its way into our lives many of us through support of loved ones pressed our way to school and took opportunities to see life beyond our neighborhood.
Military basic training, I looked forward to and enjoyed, and I had seen weapons of war beyond my neighborhood experience and it gave me a new perspective!

Paul is now in the LORD’s Army and He has seen weapons beyond hi neighborhood and experience and now he has a new perspective...
Who: The Apostle Paul writes this letter to the church of Corinth (planted on second missionary journey) and sends it by Titus hand.
This is the 4th and final letter; 1 Cor was the second letter, the first letter as lost, the 3rd was the tearful letter possibly following his painful second visit.
What: A minority of the church of Corinth are still questioning Paul’s Apostleship; false apostles are now there in the church, Paul defends his apostleship of Jesus Christ because the Gospel and the spiritual life of the Corinthian Church is as stake.
When: He wrote this letter on his 3rd missionary journey.
Where: From Macedonia
Why: Chapter 10 brings an abrupt shift in tone as Paul responds to his opponents who have made severay allegations against him.
That he talked a good talk, but had no power to back it up.
In our text today Paul expounds on His motives for ministry contrasting that of his opposition.
But, what are Paul’s motives reveal, so that our actions can speak the same deep concern for God’s people?
For the Church we see...
I. HIS SACRIFICE TO CHRIST (vv.
1-2)
A. ________ To be consistent and dependable requires sacrifice.
Anybody here ever had somebody mistake your gentleness for weakness?
Thinking you some kind of pushover, naive, and easy to manipulate?
That’s what people are saying about Paul that he is weak and unimpressive.
But Paul knew that in Christ he is everything but weak?
He has power in Christ Jesus the world has yet to see… When your realize your potential; people can talk all they want to but you recognize the greatness inside of you!
look at our text.
LISTEN PAUL IS NOW EVEN TEMPERED (POWER UNDER CONTROL) WITH TOLERANCE AND COMPASSION FOR GOD’S PEOPLE.
B. TODAY IT IS CUSTOMARY FOR THE FATHER OF THE BRIDE TO TAKE CARE OF THE WEDDING ARRANGEMENTS AND GUARANTEEING THE CHASTITY OF HIS DAUGHTER.
THIS IS A SPIRITUAL MOVE OF GOD!!!!
C. NO MATTER WHAT______________ LIVE ON MESSAGE?
We are to offer our bodies as living sacrifices holy and acceptable to God this is our worship.
In our text today Paul expounds on His motives for ministry contrasting that of his opposition.
But, what are Paul’s motives reveal, so that our actions can speak the same deep concern for God’s people?
For the Church we see...
II.
HIS SUFFERING IN CHRIST (vv.
3-4)
A. ______ Without suffering how would one know what is really important.
Just because someone has a strong personality don’t mean they are more effective in life than other.
Just because someone has human wisdom, abilities, talents, or even great physical abilities don’t mean they are overcomers.
They might seem to get by but they won’t win.
And Paul like many of us had to learn this the hard way...
watch this; Paul knows better now...
B. AS BELIEVERS WE MUST BEWARE OF CORRUPTION OF FALSE TEACHING, TAKING EVERY THOUGHT CAPTIVE TO THE OBEIDENCE OF CHRIST.
How many of you have learned to fight differently?
Why?
The flesh is weak but the spirit is strong, so we don’t walk after the flesh but the spirit.
C. No matter what________ GROW THROUGH THE MESSAGE!

III.
His Service For Christ (vv.
4-6)
A. _______ Real service can’t be paid for with earthly wages.
When we compare ourselves to others their gifts can intimidate or make us feel small and insignificant.
Why?
Because we have not invested time into looking at who you really are?
Look; Paul now knows who he is in Christ.
B. As Believers we should beware of comparing ourselves or ministers to one another.
To destroy strongholds - strongholds are a situation, a habit, or and condition that holds a person hostage.
It entraps you and doesn’t let you out.
A defensive military structure.
To destroy both arguments - calculation, reasoning, reflection, and thought
To destroy lofty opinion raise against the knowledge of God - a partition designed to block the knowledge of God from entering your thinking.
To block the flow of spiritual truth in your life.
To make things right!!!
Our armor of God (Eph 6:10-20) to fight the forces are darkness to move forward with God are TRUTH, RIGHTEOUSNESS, PEACE, FAITH, SALVATION, and the WORD OF GOD!
Paul had a sold out life for the Lord.
THEY CAN TALK A GOOD GAME BUT I AM LIVING IT OUT! IF IT WAS NOT FOR JESUS I WOULD HAVE GIVEN UP ON ALLOT OF THINGS ALONG TIME AGO! PAUL HAS SEEN THIS BEFORE, PEOPLE CHALLENGE HIS PEDIGREE AND APOSTLESHIP AND SAYS IN GALATIANS…
You can’t bypass the cross to have real power; the cross is a prerequesit to the resurrection power of Christ.
C. No matter what________ SERVE WITH THE MESSAGE?
WE MUST FIGHT DIFFERENTLY!!! THERE IS TOO MUCH AT STAKE!
LIFE IS THE GREATEST WE HAVE.
Recapitulation: Paul's motivations for ministry reveals his sacrifice, suffering, and service to the church that we too can demonstrate the same deep concern for God's people.

Final Application
GOD DOES NOT JUST WANT TO BE RESIDENT IN YOUR LIFE; HE WANTS TO BE THE PRESIDENT OF YOUR LIFE!!! E.K. BAILEY
JESUS CHRIST can to serve, suffered, and sacrificed his life for us that GOD might be the number on priority in our lives.Physical violence used to be Paul’s way to fight and many today still believe that physical violence can strengthen their cause.
Yet a woman right to vote was won by none violence, civil rights movement was won by none violence, and Christ won our salvation by none violence.
Power to change things…comes not by human power or earthly might, but the Spirit of the LORD!
IT’S A Spiritual Movement!
There is going to be tears but stay on message
There is going to be heart aches but...
There is going to be hardships but...
There is going to be pain but...
There is going to be waiting but...
There is going to be insults but stay on message
All your sacrifice, all your suffering, all your service for Christ has divine purpose and will not be in vain, so...
NO MATTER WHAT; STAY ON MESSAGE; JESUS CHRIST CRUCIFIED, DIED, BURIED, AND RAISED FROM THE DIED IN POWER!
