Justification is just the start

Justification: In Christian theology, justification is God's act of removing the guilt and penalty of sin while at the same time making a sinner righteous through Christ's atoning sacrifice (Bible.org) - Think about that for a minute for in that minute you were justified it started a new life. So, justification is just the beginning or the start of a new life in Christ.
_________________________________________________
By God’s work, we are justified (Rom5:8-10)
By Christ’s work; God’s work was accomplished (Rom5:1; Rom5:6)
By these works we can have the garden relationship (Gen3:8)
________________________________________________
By God’s work, we are justified (Rom5:8-10)
Romans 5:8–9 NASB95
8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him.
Romans 5:10 NASB95
10 For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.
Because we are justified, saved from God’s wrath, saved by His life;
By God’s work, we are justified (Rom5:8-10)
By Christ’s work; God’s work was accomplished (Rom5:1; Rom5:6)
Romans 5:1 NASB95
1 Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
Justified we have peace with God through Jesus
Romans 5:6 NASB95
6 For while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.
unable to help ourselves, Christ could and did.
Justification, being made right with God through Jesus, it is only the beginning, the start. This redeemed relationship is to be a restored relationship. Restored to the garden relationship hat existed before the fall. For Adam walked with God!
By God’s work, we are justified (Rom5:8-10)
By Christ’s work; God’s work was accomplished (Rom5:1; Rom5:6)
By these works we can have the garden relationship (Gen3:8)
Genesis 3:8 NASB95
8 They heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden.
We are now, because of the work of Jesus being the WAY, showing us the way we can have that restored relationship. This restored relationship where we can approach God and be comfortable in doing it.
Try to grasp that, not just theorize it. so maybe to better be able to do that we need to look at a few things today.
So today we are going to look at
Difference between God and Man
Jesus the Way to God
Describing those who are in Christ Jesus

The Difference between God and Man

To grasp (noun) seize and hold firmly. synonyms:grip, clutch, clasp, hold, clench; catch, seize, grab, snatch. Now we know there are differences, He is God and we are not, but for us to grasp Jesus the way to God more let’s look at some of the traits of God.
On one hand: Consider God’s nature
_____________________________________
On one hand: Consider God’s Nature
He is the One with unlimited power (Rom1:16)
He is the One with limitless wisdom (Jam1:5)
He is the One who is holy and demands holiness (Lev11:44-45)
He is the Creator and sustainer of all things (Col1:16-17)
He is the One who knows all things (1Jn3:20)
He is the One who is in heaven and is eternal (Rom16:26; Col1:17)
He is the One who fills the universe with His presence (Jer23:23-24)
_________________________________________
He is the One with unlimited power (Rom1:16)
Romans 1:16 NASB95
16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.
another way to say it is that his power is limitless able to bring salvation to all who believe.
He is the One with unlimited power (Rom1:16)
He is the One with limitless wisdom (Jam1:5)
James 1:5 LEB
5 Now if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask for it from God, who gives to all without reservation and not reproaching, and it will be given to him.
That is the lexicon bible verse and love it “without reservation”
He is the One with unlimited power (Rom1:16)
He is the One with limitless wisdom (Jam1:5)
He is the One who is holy and demands holiness (Lev11:44-45)
Leviticus 11:44 ESV
44 For I am the Lord your God. Consecrate yourselves therefore, and be holy, for I am holy. You shall not defile yourselves with any swarming thing that crawls on the ground.
Leviticus 11:45 ESV
45 For I am the Lord who brought you up out of the land of Egypt to be your God. You shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.”
Now that may look familiar to you, be holy I mean, Peter references this and partially quotes it in 1Pt1:16.
He is the One with unlimited power (Rom1:16)
He is the One with limitless wisdom (Jam1:5)
He is the One who is holy and demands holiness (Lev11:44-45)
He is the Creator and sustainer of all things (Col1:16-17)
Now this next one I have used often so it should be familiar but do we grasp the magnitude of it?
Colossians 1:16 NASB95
16 For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him.
Colossians 1:17 NASB95
17 He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.
Creator, sustainer! All things Jesus through God.
Still looking at the nature of God we are partially through the list.
He is the One who knows all things (1Jn3:20)
So unlimited power, limitless wisdom, that He is holy and demands holiness, because He is the Creator and Sustainer of all things . Which brings us to start to grasps that regardless of how we feel, regardless of self condemnation God is greater because He knows all things.
1 John 3:20 NASB95
20 in whatever our heart condemns us; for God is greater than our heart and knows all things.
Because, God who knows all, who is in heaven is the eternal God.
He is the One who knows all things (1Jn3:20)
He is the One who is in heaven and is eternal (Rom16:26; Col1:17)
Romans 16:26 NASB95
26 but now is manifested, and by the Scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the eternal God, has been made known to all the nations, leading to obedience of faith;
And as mentioned in Col1:17 previously He is before all things, both visible and invisible. He still fills the universe with His presence

Now this brings us to the other hand: Man
Mortal, finite mind, created, sustained by God who supplied all our needs (Act17:24-29; Php4:19)
Man who should be in awe of God (Psm139:1-12; Exo3:6; Exp20:18-21; Job9:32-33)
_________________________________________________
Now this brings us to the other hand: Man
Mortal, finite mind, created, sustained by God who supplied all our needs (Act17:24-29; Php4:19)
Acts 17:24–25 NASB95
24 “The God who made the world and all things in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands; 25 nor is He served by human hands, as though He needed anything, since He Himself gives to all people life and breath and all things;
Acts 17:26–27 NASB95
26 and He made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their habitation, 27 that they would seek God, if perhaps they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us;
Acts 17:28–29 NASB95
28 for in Him we live and move and exist, as even some of your own poets have said, ‘For we also are His children.’ 29 “Being then the children of God, we ought not to think that the Divine Nature is like gold or silver or stone, an image formed by the art and thought of man.
Now this brings us to the other hand: Man
Mortal, finite mind, created, sustained by God who supplied all our needs (Act17:24-29; Php4:19)
Man who should be in awe of God (Psm139:1-12; Exo3:6; Exo20:18-21; Job9:32-33)
Grasping the difference between God and man, check out this passage
Psalm 139:1–2 NASB95
1 O Lord, You have searched me and known me. 2 You know when I sit down and when I rise up; You understand my thought from afar.
Psalm 139:3–4 NASB95
3 You scrutinize my path and my lying down, And are intimately acquainted with all my ways. 4 Even before there is a word on my tongue, Behold, O Lord, You know it all.
Psalm 139:5–6 NASB95
5 You have enclosed me behind and before, And laid Your hand upon me. 6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; It is too high, I cannot attain to it.
Psalm 139:7–8 NASB95
7 Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? 8 If I ascend to heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in Sheol, behold, You are there.
Psalm 139:9–10 NASB95
9 If I take the wings of the dawn, If I dwell in the remotest part of the sea, 10 Even there Your hand will lead me, And Your right hand will lay hold of me.
Psalm 139:11–12 NASB95
11 If I say, “Surely the darkness will overwhelm me, And the light around me will be night,” 12 Even the darkness is not dark to You, And the night is as bright as the day. Darkness and light are alike to You.
God knows you; God understands you; God watches over yo
He encloses you, He goes with you and He leads you.!
What was terrifying to the people of Israel that they did not even want to approach God, we can, because we are justified because Jesus is the way to God. I think David said it well there in Psm139 about how we should be in reverent fear, in awe of God the Father, in which Jesus provided the way to Him.
Where there was fear that kept them away (Exo3:6) fear was to bring about faith so they would not sin against Him.
Exodus 20:18–19 NASB95
18 All the people perceived the thunder and the lightning flashes and the sound of the trumpet and the mountain smoking; and when the people saw it, they trembled and stood at a distance. 19 Then they said to Moses, “Speak to us yourself and we will listen; but let not God speak to us, or we will die.”
Exodus 20:20–21 NASB95
20 Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid; for God has come in order to test you, and in order that the fear of Him may remain with you, so that you may not sin.” 21 So the people stood at a distance, while Moses approached the thick cloud where God was.
In Israels early days they had Moses and they wanted Him to go be the mediator for them, in Job’s day, he cried for a mediator too (Jn9:32-33) Jesus is the way to God and:
A better mediator (Heb8:6)
Mediating a new and everlasting covenant (Heb9:15)
And if you think that was scripture rich, since we are simply Christians studying God’s Word hold on, more to come now, but will pick up the pace some.

Jesus: The Only Way to God

Jesus manifested God to us, and the Word tells us He is God. The Apostles and writers proclaimed Him. They reveal Him so we can comprehend and personally relate to Him so we can come to be in Him and He is us.
______________
Jesus manifested, declared God to us (Jn1:18; Jn6:46)
The scripture declares Jesus is the Word and is God (Jn1:1-2, 14)
And in seeing Jesus you see God (Jn14:7)
The Apostles proclaimed Him (Col2:9) as well as the Hebrew writer (Heb1:1-3)
All this so we can now approach Him (Heb4:14-16)
______________________
Jesus manifested, declared God to us (Jn1:18; Jn6:46)
John 1:18 NASB95
18 No one has seen God at any time; the only begotten God who is in the bosom of the Father, He has explained Him.
but then there is
John 6:46 NASB95
46 “Not that anyone has seen the Father, except the One who is from God; He has seen the Father.
How? that was because Jesus came from God; and He is God
Jesus manifested, declared God to us (Jn1:18; Jn6:46)
The scripture declares Jesus is the Word and is God (Jn1:1-2, 14)
John 1:1–2 NASB95
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God.
John 1:14 NASB95
14 And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.
Jesus manifested, declared God to us (Jn1:18; Jn6:46)
The scripture declares Jesus is the Word and is God (Jn1:1-2, 14)
And in seeing Jesus you see God (Jn14:7)
John 14:7 NASB95
7 “If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; from now on you know Him, and have seen Him.”
The Apostles proclaimed Him (Col2:9) as well as the Hebrew writer (Heb1:1-3)
Colossians 2:9 NASB95
9 For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form,
Hebrews 1:1–2 NASB95
1 God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways, 2 in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world.
Hebrews 1:3 NASB95
3 And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,
Shown to us revealed to us in a way we can comprehend and personally relate.
So, when we see Jesus character His attributes (power, wisdom, holiness, love, mercy and yes His divine wrath) we see God the Father’s character and attributes too!
Earlier I mentioned that we can, by knowing Jesus is the way, the only way, to God and we can approach Him, the Father that is, because of Jesus work on the cross at Calvary where he was both the priest making the offering and He was the offering itself. He is the One who is in Heaven now.
The Apostles proclaimed Him (Col2:9) as well as the Hebrew writer (Heb1:1-3)
All this so we can now approach Him (Heb4:14-16)
Hebrews 4:14–15 NASB95
14 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. 15 For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin.
Hebrews 4:16 NASB95
16 Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
Through Christ we are able to comprehend and able to approach the Father and we can say “Abba Father” for He is our Father in heaven.
We can have that restored relationship, that garden relationship with the Father, through the Son. The N.T. describes that relationship in a few ways.

Describing those who are in Christ Jesus

This is not exhaustive but it is encouraging and reminding to those who re in Christ Jesus and enlightening for others to consider being transferred into Christ Jesus.
________________________________
We are children of God (Gal3:26)
By faith we are the church (house of God) (1Tim3:15)
We are the temple of God (2Cor6:15)
We are a spiritual house (1Pt2:5)
We are chosen, we are a royal priesthood (1Pt2:9)
Think about all that and know you are God’s own possession if you are in Christ Jesus.
_______________________________________________
We are children of God
Galatians 3:26 NKJV
26 For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.
In Christ by faith; we re the Church (the house of God)
1 Timothy 3:15 NASB95
15 but in case I am delayed, I write so that you will know how one ought to conduct himself in the household of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and support of the truth.
In Christ we are the temple of God
2 Corinthians 6:16 NASB95
16 Or what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; just as God said, “I will dwell in them and walk among them; And I will be their God, and they shall be My people.
In Christ we are a spiritual house
1 Peter 2:5 NASB95
5 you also, as living stones, are being built up as a spiritual house for a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
In Christ we are a royal priesthood
1 Peter 2:9 NASB95
9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;
Think about it, we are His own possession!

1 John 1:7 NASB95
7 but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.
