Getting to know God,

God encourages and motivates us to develop a true relationship of love with him.

The scriptures tell of God power and might, omnipotent, omnipresent, omniscient ,El Roi (the God who sees me), El Olam (God Eternal),Yahweh Rophe (the Lord who heals), Yahweh Shammah (the Lord is There)

God wants an intimate relationship that’s why my favorite name for God is simply father.

lets look at some other things that encourages us

God said trust in the Lord, with all thine heart and lean not to thine own understanding and all thy ways acknowledge Him and he will direct your paths.

God said the lord is my shepherd I shall not want, God said my God shall supply all my needs, God said ask and it shell be given seek and you shall find knock and the door will be open God said no weapon formed against thee shell prosper God said he will keep you in perfect peace if you keep your mind stay on Him.

God said but seek ye first the kingdom of God and all these things will be added to you.

God said I once was young but now I’m old but I never seen the righteous forsaken,

all of this is only there to inform us to give us hope in times of darkness, let us know that we can depend on God, Let me say it the way the three Hebrew boys said it.

“God is Able.”

but there is a warning if you are in a relationship and your more interested in what you can get

You are a gold-digger, if your motivation is based only on getting to heaven, I feel you may have missed the point.

Jesus in teaches some very difficult lessons that brings me to the question why do you serve God.

is for pride, to be honored by man, for blessings here on earth, let me be plain.

is it to seen by others, I need to tell everyone what ive done, is it for power, respect, control, so that others will know that your running things,

why do you give, why do you pray, why do you fast (wait i know this one, because the preacher asked you to)

why do you serve.

We shouldn’t let the provisions, promises, or power Of God get in the way of getting to know God.

Be still, stop being so busy, and doing all the talking, communication is a 2 way street you must listen to see what God is saying to you.

know that I am God: get to know God instead of just knowing about the things he does or the things he has promised.

Its not what you know in this case it’s who you know Get to know God.

God’s word not only shows us what God has and can do it also reveals to us His character and his will.

Yes , Praise God for what he has and is doing in your life , but we must truly learn how to worship God for who he is.
