2 Samuel 7:12-
King David had a desire to build a house for God, but God had a different plan.
God tells David that it will be his son Solomon who will build a house for Him, but He them tells of something else.
That from David himself a king will come and one day sit on the throne of God’s kingdom forever.
Solomon did become king and build a house for God, but he died.
So who is this mystery king?
The prophet Isaiah gives us some insight into who this might be.
Isaiah 9:6-7
The prophet Daniel also prophesied of this coming king.
Daniel 7
One of Jesus’ favorite designations for Himself was “The Son of Man” and it comes from these verses in Daniel.
Jesus was declaring to the Jewish people that He is the prophesied king that God had promised, the one from the line of David and the one who would sit on the throne of God’s kingdom forever.
Question: Is Jesus your king?
Challenge: Read John 12:12-38
Prayer: Father God, reveal your king to me.
