(NLT) 6 The Lord of Heaven’s Armies says to the priests: “A son honors his father, and a servant respects his master.

If I am your father and master, where are the honor and respect I deserve?

You have shown contempt for my name!

“But you ask, ‘How have we ever shown contempt for your name?’ 7 “You have shown contempt by offering defiled sacrifices on my altar.

“Then you ask, ‘How have we defiled the sacrifices?’ “You defile them by saying the altar of the Lord deserves no respect.

8 When you give blind animals as sacrifices, isn’t that wrong?

And isn’t it wrong to offer animals that are crippled and diseased?

Try giving gifts like that to your governor, and see how pleased he is!” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.

“But you ask, ‘How have we ever shown contempt for your name?’ 7 “You have shown contempt by offering defiled sacrifices on my altar.

(NLT) 13 You say, ‘It’s too hard to serve the Lord,’ and you turn up your noses at my commands,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.

“Think of it!

Animals that are stolen and crippled and sick are being presented as offerings!

Should I accept from you such offerings as these?” asks the Lord.

Malaquías 1:6-8 (NTV) 6 El Señor de los Ejércitos Celestiales dice a los sacerdotes: «Un hijo honra a su padre y un sirviente respeta a su señor.

»Los contaminaron al decir que el altar del Señor no merece respeto.

8 Cuando ofrecen animales ciegos como sacrificio, ¿acaso no está mal? ¿Y no está mal también ofrecer animales lisiados y enfermos?

¡Intenten dar este tipo de regalos al gobernador y vean qué contento se pone!», dice el Señor de los Ejércitos Celestiales.

Malaquías 1:13 (NTV) 13 Ustedes dicen: “Es demasiado difícil servir al Señor” y consideran un fastidio mis mandamientos —dice el Señor de los Ejércitos Celestiales.

¡Imagínense!

¡Están presentando animales robados, lisiados y enfermos como ofrendas!

¿Debo aceptar esa clase de ofrenda de ustedes?», pregunta el Señor.

(NLT) 7 I once thought these things were valuable, but now I consider them worthless because of what Christ has done.

8 Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord.

For his sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ 9 and become one with him.

I no longer count on my own righteousness through obeying the law; rather, I become righteous through faith in Christ.

For God’s way of making us right with himself depends on faith.10

I want to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised him from the dead.

I want to suffer with him, sharing in his death, 11 so that one way or another I will experience the resurrection from the dead! 12 I don’t mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection.

But I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me.

13 No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.

Filipenses 3:7-14 (NTV) 7 Antes creía que esas cosas eran valiosas, pero ahora considero que no tienen ningún valor debido a lo que Cristo ha hecho.

8 Así es, todo lo demás no vale nada cuando se le compara con el infinito valor de conocer a Cristo Jesús, mi Señor.

Por amor a él, he desechado todo lo demás y lo considero basura a fin de ganar a Cristo 9 y llegar a ser uno con él.

¡Quiero sufrir con él y participar de su muerte, 11 para poder experimentar, de una u otra manera, la resurrección de los muertos!

Avanzar hacia la meta 12 No quiero decir que ya haya logrado estas cosas ni que ya haya alcanzado la perfección; pero sigo adelante a fin de hacer mía esa perfección para la cual Cristo Jesús primeramente me hizo suyo.

13 No, amados hermanos, no lo he logrado, pero me concentro únicamente en esto: olvido el pasado y fijo la mirada en lo que tengo por delante, y así 14 avanzo hasta llegar al final de la carrera para recibir el premio celestial al cual Dios nos llama por medio de Cristo Jesús.
