Jesus’ Resurrection Command. Here we find the true basis of the church’s practice (Mt 28:19). As already stated, the disciples stopped employing it, so it is here that we see the institution reconstituted as an ordinance based on the death and resurrection of Christ. It was no longer a forward-looking phenomenon but had now become a realized activity centering on the gospel message, certified by the risen Christ who is exalted to universal lordship. It also is an essential aspect of the discipling activity, as seen in the use of the participle “baptizing” after the main verb “make disciples.” Finally we might note that the act signifies the entrance of the believer “into” union with (literally “into the name of”) the triune Godhead.
Baptismal Regeneration:
As a mother there is no greater thing that you can do than to teach your children the word of God. you can invest many things in the lives of your children but many of those things will fade away. The truly loving mother will have a passion and a love for truth that they wish to instill into their children. The heart of the father in proverbs pours out his heart that his children may grow in spiritual discernment, with a love for God that motivates them to holier living. Any parent would naturally want whats best for their children. So we must be careful that we do not neglect something so crucial for their well-being. We live in a day where in our schooling realms they teach confusion rather than fact.
They have now passed that all students must go through a gender identity curriculum that will assign students a gender if they are unsure. This is the day in which we live where hard facts have become blurry. All the more for us to not get carried away with the things that busy our days but be intentional on how we instruct and teach our kids.
One of the greatest affronts that has happened on our culture is the blurring of the truth of Christ. Unsure how a man is truly saved. Ignorant of the hope found within scripture.

Some of the hottest issues of our day our often are found within our churches on the discussion of where lines are drawn in theological circles, determining whether or not they are true or false.

As i begin to learn and grow in the word of God and in the theological debates found within our christian circles i find that all claim to uphold truth and biblical authority but very few actually do.
We are so diverse yet claim the biblical stamp of approval. We all cannot be right. one of us or many of us must be very from true biblical accuracy.
Many men have their go to verses that they proof text and throw their stones at the other party usually resulting like fuel upon a fire.
This doesn’t mean that we do not preach truth that will pierce the hearts of men that may receive a negative response. We must make our efforts for truth to be voiced not fearful of what men may say but rather what God was.
We would not have had some of the greatest revivals of our day had it not been for men to go against the populace to stand upon truth. So let us assure that what we make our hills to die on that they are fully rooted in biblical accuracy and not mans mythology.
Many men do not set out with the intentions of preaching falacies.
I am not saying the people that may find themselves on the other side of where i stand are not genuine in their attempt to Love God and people i just believe that they have veared from biblical truth and need to return. And saying that i say that in love. Truth is what sets people free.
We find ourselves in this predicament in our churches for many reasons.
Even Peter says of Paul he preaches some hards things. Gods ways are higher than our ways and somethings because he is God is past finding out in this life.
some may wonder why i do not enter into a defining group that finds itself very prevalent in the church.

They truly dont know what the Bible says. You find this out when you start trying to defend what you believe and you use everything on this list and not scripture.

And when faced with the biblical truth that i am confident on that i can stand before God and answer for, i need not be ashamed.
I am not saying that men are not saved nor have good intentions but listen biblical truth is not about what we feel or good intentions.
This I say because i love the word of God, His truth and seeking it out. and i pray that you would to. I love what it produces in your life.
So what do we do with a day when we all have been raised with a worldview, experience, first taught, lack of knowledge and different denominations on every corner of our streets?
THis is not something new. This goes all the way back to beginning of the gospels in the letters in revelation. dealing with all kinds of issues.
I do not way in very much to the great controversy in many churches between calvinism and arminianism. For this reason.
I do not follow men.
Corinthian church was guilty of this. I follow apollos, paul, cephas.
Mans theology will fade away but the Word of the Lord will endure forever.

Truth doesnt need me to defend it but can defend itself.
So what is true that calvin taught and arminian will stand the test of time.
I disagree with both men. you know why. because they are men.
If i say i follow a man then i approach scripture once again that is difficult to handle instead of using scripture i am thinking through a lense of preconceived notions. For instance Calvin believed in infant baptism.
am neither a calvinism, nor an arminian nor would i ever categorize myself under such titles as following a man but rather a biblicist. IF the bible testifies of it then i will adhere my life to it.
There are good men on both sides that God has used in tremendous ways. I have friends on both sides that i could never gain the rewards that they will have in heaven for their service towards God.
i do understand that their are many things that can be nailed down in scripture and we should, but let us make sure that it is God we seek to honor an
The beautiful thing is even through our short comings God is still able to prevail.
So how do we address the issue?
Not with casting stones, but rather a LOVE for God and His WORD. And because you have a LOVE for God and HIS WORD then you have a love for people to know Gods truth.
WE need to be like the psalmist in 119,

Allowing God to teach us his word. Growing in his word. Then backing up what you learn with great men of the faith to make sure you are not speaking into the text.
John came baptizing in the wilderness and preaching a baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.
This is where we begin to see a teaching unravel within many churches that begins here and continues on farther. This is the issue does baptism forgive sins?
depending on your up bringing and your lenses that you look at scripture you may have come up with two separate interpretations immediately.
John preached a baptism of repentance, thus the baptismal remission of sins.
OR John Preaching repentance, thus upon repentance which removes sin was baptizing.
One hand baptism removes the sin on the other it is a symbol testifying of the event.
This is not the only time that this issue may be arised. It is found elsewhere in scripture.

The Covenant Relation. There is a definite link between baptism and the OT covenants. The major connection is with the Abrahamic, especially with the circumcision which characterized it. Paul in , combines Jewish circumcision with Christian baptism as pictures of the redemptive work of Christ. The debate today centers on the degree of continuity between them—does baptism perform the same function in the New Covenant, i.e., forensic and imputative? Whatever the theological ramifications, Paul at least cannot be made to say this. Rather, he borrows here the Judeo-Christian imagery of the “circumcision of the heart” (; ; ; , ; ). Christians experience the fulfillment of that which circumcision merely prefigured, a spiritual, totally efficacious reality.

There are certainly couple more but these i believe suffice for the clearest texts that would appear to uphold a baptism that saves.
i do not have time to deal with every text but I wish to give an honest view of those who would hold to this doctrine. IT is not they pulled this up and out of the air and ran with it.
These would be the beginning of the tunnel vision that when using these texts (which have been debated for many many years) to interpret the rest of scripture rather than to use the whole of scripture to interpret these few passages.
The same issue would arise in the falling away terminology used in hebrews. You cannot use the hard to interpret passages as your means to interpret the rest of scripture but rather take the clear teachings of the whole of scripture and use those to wrestle with the hard to understand portions.
Now as i move forward let me state and state it clearly that i do not believe that Baptism saves. nor does this church. Wait i thought you said it did?
baptism with water by mans hands and actions cannot save no body.
IT is hopeless.
Let me prove it.
First we must note not all instances in the bible where you see baptism used is it always refering to a physical baptism.
Can deal with a severly trying expereince; an event where someone is plunged entirely.
But Jesus said to them, “You do not know what you ask. Are you able to drink the cup that I drink, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?”
They said to Him, “We are able.”
So Jesus said to them, “You will indeed drink the cup that I drink, and with the baptism I am baptized with you will be baptized;
But I have a baptism to be baptized with, and how distressed I am till it is accomplished!
Johns Baptism was for the remission of sins. Right
If it is just the mere the dunking into water that saves the person then why in

IF johns baptism was sufficient then why did they need to be rebaptized? they missed the meaning of the baptism which was to believe on the one who was to come after.
THen you can go to the other extreme and say that johns baptism was no good.
Jesus was baptized by John and when the Apostles were looking for a replacement for Judas in the beginning of Acts, what did they look for, someone from johns Baptism.
Now when these things had been thus prepared, the priests always went into the first part of the tabernacle, performing the services. But into the second part the high priest went alone once a year, not without blood, which he offered for himself and for the people’s sins committed in ignorance; the Holy Spirit indicating this, that the way into the Holiest of All was not yet made manifest while the first tabernacle was still standing. It was symbolic for the present time in which both gifts and sacrifices are offered which cannot make him who performed the service perfect in regard to the conscience—concerned only with foods and drinks, various washings, and fleshly ordinances imposed until the time of reformation.
Hebrews 9:
The various washings was fleshly ordinances that cannot cleanse the conscious. It was temporal and symbolic for the time of reformation. Being that of the messiah.
It was symbolic for the present time in which both gifts and sacrifices are offered which cannot make him who performed the service perfect in regard to the conscience—concerned only with foods and drinks, various washings, and fleshly ordinances imposed until the time of reformation.
Hebrews 9:9-10
But Christ came as High Priest of the good things to come, with the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands, that is, not of this creation. Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption.
how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

You see the imagery painted. Circumcision made without hands. and so a Baptism made without hands. Its the symbolism in which it points to. These were pictures of Christ.
Colossians 2:11-
The same is true that faith doesnt save. Those who believe in believing are not truly believing. Those who have faith in faith are not standing upon

What about all the great patriarchs that had gone before us?
Those who had gone before us. Are none of them saved?

What was accounted to as righteousness? Faith in God.
Salvation has always been the same throughout scripture.
By Grace, through faith, in Christ. Whether that be looking forward or backward.

There is a baptism that saves but it is not one that is worked by mens hands. It is spirit born. Not a physical act.

You may say well i have faith that Christ saves through baptism.

You must take 5 and 6 together otherwise you have a misunderstanding.

So then we see the proper order and purpose behind baptism. For those who have been saved testifying of the work of God publicly.
Then Crispus, the ruler of the synagogue, believed on the Lord with all his household. And many of the Corinthians, hearing, believed and were baptized.
And in multiple, multiple, multiple, multiple other passages signifying this.
A sign of dying to self and raising to christ. living as a new creation born of GOD.
When posed with the question did johns baptism remove the guilt of sin?
The answer is no.
Faith in Christ’s work is the only way into the presence of a holy God
For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.
