Intro

Answering the questions-
what will be the signs of the coming destruction of the temple (which happened in 70 AD)
what will be the signs of the end of the age (age of the gentiles)
when will you come into your kingdom
when will of this be accomplished
Learned the beginning signs in which Jesus called the birth pains
Learned about the abomination of desolation sign
Learned about the period the bible calls the DAY of the LORD, or the tribulation period
Learned about what the Lord’s plan is for the church during that period of time
Now we will move on to the next passage in
stand for the reading of God’s word
Mark 13:24–27 ESV
“But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will be falling from heaven, and the powers in the heavens will be shaken. And then they will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory. And then he will send out the angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of heaven.
Mark 13:

The days after the tribulation

Remember the prophet , and Jesus all said of the tribulation
it has never been this bad on earth and it will never be that bad again.
We already established it is a time of divine judgment, affliction.
The book of Rev has future events as it relates to this judgement
There are seven seals of a scroll that will be opened
There are seven trumpets each part of judgement
There are seven bowls of Gods wrath to be poured out
Here in Jesus says but in those days after that tribulation. So now Jesus is beginning to give information about what takes place after.
For the some who claim that this entire chapter was fulfilled in 70 ad with the destruction of the temple and that was the tribulation. The biggest problem with that theory is verse 25, 26, and 27
If their there were correct then Jesus should of returned shortly after the event.
Jesus says some very specific information about this event
The sun will be darkened and the moon will not give its light
The stars will be falling from heaven and the powers in the heavens will be shaken
they will see the son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory
He will send out the angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of heaven.
Jesus did not return in 70 ad and he didn’t send out angels to gather the elect so he must be referring to events that will happen in the future. He is referring to his final and second coming after the tribulation period.
When Jesus says the sun will be darkened and the moon will not give its light he is quoting from the prophet Isaiah
Isaiah 13:10 ESV
For the stars of the heavens and their constellations will not give their light; the sun will be dark at its rising, and the moon will not shed its light.
Isaiah 34:4 ESV
All the host of heaven shall rot away, and the skies roll up like a scroll. All their host shall fall, as leaves fall from the vine, like leaves falling from the fig tree.
isa
After the tribulation immediacy preceeding his return it is hell on earth. Remember Jesus already said if the day were not shortened no person on earth would survive.
The book of rev talks changes in the heaven. The sun, moon, and the starts described by Jesus here refers to observable celestial changes in the physical universe.
The powers in heaven being shaken prob refers to the physical forces controlling the movements of the celestial bodies will be thrown out of their normal course

Jesus returns to the earth

At the time of this event verse 26 says they (generic for people) will see the son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.
Zechariah 14:4 ESV
On that day his feet shall stand on the Mount of Olives that lies before Jerusalem on the east, and the Mount of Olives shall be split in two from east to west by a very wide valley, so that one half of the Mount shall move northward, and the other half southward.
Acts 1:11 ESV
and said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven? This Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven.”
Zech 14:4
Revelation 1:7 ESV
Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him, and all tribes of the earth will wail on account of him. Even so. Amen.
Rev 1:
This will be a very visible and physical event in which Jesus will return to the earth onto the mount of Olives the same one he ascended into heaven from. This triumphant return will bring an end to the veiled nature of God’s Kingdom and reveal its present form.
is another picture of this triumphant return of Jesus the king returning to the earth, write this one down and go and read it. We are with Jesus waring white and pure fine linen. He is coming to set up the kingdom on earth.
Zechariah 14:7–9 ESV
And there shall be a unique day, which is known to the Lord, neither day nor night, but at evening time there shall be light. On that day living waters shall flow out from Jerusalem, half of them to the eastern sea and half of them to the western sea. It shall continue in summer as in winter. And the Lord will be king over all the earth. On that day the Lord will be one and his name one.
Zech 14:7
OK remember I taught you the tribulation was for the Judgement of Isreal but also the restoration and salvation of Isreal.
Read with me

Restoration of Isreal

Jeremiah 30:8–11 ESV
“And it shall come to pass in that day, declares the Lord of hosts, that I will break his yoke from off your neck, and I will burst your bonds, and foreigners shall no more make a servant of him. But they shall serve the Lord their God and David their king, whom I will raise up for them. “Then fear not, O Jacob my servant, declares the Lord, nor be dismayed, O Israel; for behold, I will save you from far away, and your offspring from the land of their captivity. Jacob shall return and have quiet and ease, and none shall make him afraid. For I am with you to save you, declares the Lord; I will make a full end of all the nations among whom I scattered you, but of you I will not make a full end. I will discipline you in just measure, and I will by no means leave you unpunished.
Jere
Now is the end of the tribulation King Jesus has returned to the earth in Jerusalem on the mount of Olives. The Church has already been with him in Heaven for 7 years. The church has already recieved their changed glorified bodies but what about all the rest of the people on earth who have survived the tribulation??
Ok read with me
Zechariah 12:10–11 ESV
“And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and pleas for mercy, so that, when they look on me, on him whom they have pierced, they shall mourn for him, as one mourns for an only child, and weep bitterly over him, as one weeps over a firstborn. On that day the mourning in Jerusalem will be as great as the mourning for Hadad-rimmon in the plain of Megiddo.
zech 12:10:
Zechariah 13:1 ESV
“On that day there shall be a fountain opened for the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, to cleanse them from sin and uncleanness.
A Psalm about this very event read with me
Psalm 118:19-
Psalm 118:19–24 ESV
Open to me the gates of righteousness, that I may enter through them and give thanks to the Lord. This is the gate of the Lord; the righteous shall enter through it. I thank you that you have answered me and have become my salvation. The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone. This is the Lord’s doing; it is marvelous in our eyes. This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.
So Jesus has returned to the earth as King the Jewish people have now received grace and mercy to see the Messiah the one whom they pierced. The stone the builders rejected have become the cornerstone. The angles have gone out to gather all people from the four winds (Which means) to gather in Jerusalem.
He will separate his sheep from the goats — these will be humans with human bodies
One more piece of the puzzle in scripture we must put down to help us see more clearly
I think everyone of you should read and study Roman’s chapter 11 but we will take a little bit from it today
Romans 11:1 ESV
I ask, then, has God rejected his people? By no means! For I myself am an Israelite, a descendant of Abraham, a member of the tribe of Benjamin.
Romans 11:1-
Romans 11:7–8 ESV
What then? Israel failed to obtain what it was seeking. The elect obtained it, but the rest were hardened, as it is written, “God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes that would not see and ears that would not hear, down to this very day.”
Romans 11:1 ESV
I ask, then, has God rejected his people? By no means! For I myself am an Israelite, a descendant of Abraham, a member of the tribe of Benjamin.
Why??
Romans 11:7 ESV
What then? Israel failed to obtain what it was seeking. The elect obtained it, but the rest were hardened,
Rom 11:
Romans 11:11–12 ESV
So I ask, did they stumble in order that they might fall? By no means! Rather, through their trespass salvation has come to the Gentiles, so as to make Israel jealous. Now if their trespass means riches for the world, and if their failure means riches for the Gentiles, how much more will their full inclusion mean!
Romans 11:22–24 ESV
Note then the kindness and the severity of God: severity toward those who have fallen, but God’s kindness to you, provided you continue in his kindness. Otherwise you too will be cut off. And even they, if they do not continue in their unbelief, will be grafted in, for God has the power to graft them in again. For if you were cut from what is by nature a wild olive tree, and grafted, contrary to nature, into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these, the natural branches, be grafted back into their own olive tree.
Rom 11:22-
Romans 11:25–26 ESV
Lest you be wise in your own sight, I do not want you to be unaware of this mystery, brothers: a partial hardening has come upon Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. And in this way all Israel will be saved, as it is written, “The Deliverer will come from Zion, he will banish ungodliness from Jacob”;
Rom 11:
Did you hear that?? A partial hardening has come upon Israel, until the fulness of the gentiles has come in?
Once the Bride of Christ is taken from the earth out of the way of the tribulation, the Lord’s focus will return to Israel.
When he comes back the nation will be saved and embrace their Messiah and King . This will begin the 1000 year reign of Christ here on earth with Israel in their land Just as God Promised.
