THE SECRECY OF GOD

: “The secret things belong unto the Lord our God, but those things which are revealed belong unto us.”

The Bible has much to say about the secrecy of God. tells us: “Hast thou heard the secret of God?” asks Eliphaz? exclaims: “The secret of the Lord is with them that fear him,”

“Thy Father which is in secret,” “But when you pray, go away by yourself, shut the door behind you, and pray to your Father in private. Then your Father, who sees everything, will reward you.” Man is permitted to explore, to research, to discover a great deal, but there is an infinite domain beyond his mental reach. “The secret things belong unto the Lord our God.”

6But when you pray, go away by yourself, shut the door behind you, and pray to your Father in private. Then your Father, who sees everything, will reward you. says Jesus We must never forget that God’s revelation is in every case tempered with reserve. Man is permitted to explore, to research, to discover a great deal, but there is an infinite domain beyond his mental reach. “The secret things belong unto the Lord our God.” Observe that:

The secret things of nature belong to the Lord our God.

One of the world’s greatest astronomers, Sir Isaac Newton, confessed: “I do not know what I may appear to the world, but to myself I seem to have been only a boy playing on the sea-shore, and diverting myself in now and then finding a smoother pebble or a prettier shell than ordinary, whilst the great ocean of truth lay all undiscovered before me.”

At the close of a magnificent lecture on “The Wonder of the Worlds That Float in Space,” Sir Robert Ball, the first man to weigh the earth, acknowledged: “When I compare what I know with what remains to be known, my knowledge is small and insignificant.”

Thomas Edison, pioneer of electronics, declared, “No one knows one seven-billionth of one percent about anything.”

Soooooo…Where does that leave us? The secret things of the soul belong to the Lord our God.

“He knoweth the secrets of the heart” tells us: “God would surely have known it, for he knows the secrets of every heart.” Paul tells us in Romans: “And this is the message I proclaim—that the day is coming when God, through Christ Jesus, will judge everyone’s secret life.”
21 God would surely have known it, for he knows the secrets of every heart.
16And this is the message I proclaim—that the day is coming when God, through Christ Jesus, will judge everyone’s secret life.
The secret things of the church belong to the Lord our God.
“God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ” ().

The secret things of the church belong to the Lord our God.

“The revelation of the mystery … was kept secret since the world began” Again the Apostle Paul tells us: “25 Now all glory to God, who is able to make you strong, just as my Good News says. This message about Jesus Christ has revealed his plan for you Gentiles, a plan kept secret from the beginning of time.”

25Now all glory to God, who is able to make you strong, just as my Good News says. This message about Jesus Christ has revealed his plan for you Gentiles, a plan kept secret from the beginning of time.

“By revelation [God] made known unto me the mystery … which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men.” Paul tells us in Ephesians........

“As I briefly wrote earlier, God himself revealed his mysterious plan to me.” (to Paul) “God did not reveal it to previous generations, but now by his Spirit he has revealed it to his holy apostles and prophets.”

3As I briefly wrote earlier, God himself revealed his mysterious plan to me.
“God did not reveal it to previous generations, but now by his Spirit he has revealed it to his holy apostles and prophets.”

ARE WE GETTING THE PICTURE HERE?

5God did not reveal it to previous generations, but now by his Spirit he has revealed it to his holy apostles and prophets.

The secrets things of the future belong to the Lord our God.

Remember in the book of Daniel? “But there is a God in heaven who reveals secrets, and he has shown King Nebuchadnezzar what will happen in the future. Now I will tell you your dream and the visions you saw as you lay on your bed.”

28But there is a God in heaven who reveals secrets, and he has shown King Nebuchadnezzar what will happen in the future. Now I will tell you your dream and the visions you saw as you lay on your bed.

“He reveals deep and mysterious things and knows what lies hidden in darkness, though he is surrounded by light.”

22He reveals deep and mysterious things and knows what lies hidden in darkness, though he is surrounded by light.

“The secret of the Lord is with them that fear Him” In the Psalmist tells us: “The Lord is a friend to those who fear him. He teaches them his covenant.”

14The Lord is a friend to those who fear him. He teaches them his covenant.

It is communicated “in the secret place of the Most High” “Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.” by “the Father which seeth in secret” “Give your gifts in private, and your Father, who sees everything, will reward you.”

Do you think that the reason could be why we know so little of the secrets of the Lord perhaps this, that we are not often enough in the secret place with Him?

1Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. by “the Father which seeth in secret” (). Is the reason why we know so little of the secret of the Lord perhaps this, that we are not often enough in the secret place with Him?
4Give your gifts in private, and your Father, who sees everything, will reward you. . Is the reason why we know so little of the secret of the Lord perhaps this, that we are not often enough in the secret place with Him?
