Vs 1-7 God places the parable of him being the husbandman and creating a beautiful place for his vineyard to thrive
His vineyard is his people; the children of Israel and Judah
Rather than bear fruit though they bring forth wild grapes
How did this happen; what caused them to have there fruit go bad
Have you ever tasted a wild grape
As kids you ever try to eat those wild grapes; those little berries that always look so god and taste so nasty
Not a problem with the soil, or the rain or the sun that makes those nasty little fruit, but a problem with the plant just being the wrong plant
God cares about results, not just effort
END: Christian make judgment on self to be fruitful for Christ before
People at huisache busy and prayerful
Church; prayerless,
EMPHASIS:
Will I judge these thorns or weeds
What do I want to be enlarged; the kingdom of God or Hell?
Am I willing to let these weeds continue to choke my fruitfulness for Jesus Christ
My Evangelism
My Personal Devotions
My Prayer
What is hindering our fruitfulness
Hindrances to Fruitfulness
No one wants to be unfruitful
Many want to be productive; we put forth the effort; we water the garden but we do not weed it
You are coming to church and getting the water of the word, and the fertilizer of prayer
But it is both adding and removing
God is zeroing in on some things that have to be dealt with
This is what happens to people today

TEXT:
Refers to rich people systematically taking land from the poor. Their behavior violates the regulations about property ownership found in the Pentateuch, especially and
Notwithstanding the land shall be divided by lot: according to the names of the tribes of their fathers they shall inherit.
and 33:54 (compare ; ).
and
And ye shall divide the land by lot for an inheritance among your families: and to the more ye shall give the more inheritance, and to the fewer ye shall give the less inheritance: every man’s inheritance shall be in the place where his lot falleth; according to the tribes of your fathers ye shall inherit.
And it came to pass after these things, that Naboth the Jezreelite had a vineyard, which was in Jezreel, hard by the palace of Ahab king of Samaria. And Ahab spake unto Naboth, saying, Give me thy vineyard, that I may have it for a garden of herbs, because it is near unto my house: and I will give thee for it a better vineyard than it; or, if it seem good to thee, I will give thee the worth of it in money. And Naboth said to Ahab, The Lord forbid it me, that I should give the inheritance of my fathers unto thee.
numbers 33:54
And they covet fields, and take them by violence;
And houses, and take them away:
So they oppress a man and his house,
Even a man and his heritage.
The rich would buy up all the houses and lands around them so they could dwell alone without others dwelling near them. It was selfish conduct, but selfishness is a product of covetousness.
If they could succeed, they would be placed alone in the midst of the earth, would monopolize possessions and preferments, and engross all profits and employments to themselves
if another man’s house or field lie convenient to theirs, as Naboth’s vineyard to Ahab’s, they must have that too, or they cannot be easy.
Those that set their hearts upon the world will justly be disappointed in their expectations from it.
Look at the judgment in verse 10
5:10 will yield an ephah Roughly 10 percent of the initial investment will be recouped at harvest. The expectation was a tenfold yield or more, not a 90 percent loss
But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold.
God wants to bless us with hundredfold; but what led them instead to a 90% loss?
They were selfish with their possessions
APPLICATION
APPLICATION
Persecution has killed it’s thousands, but prosperity has killed it’s tens of thousands
Got fat and lazy and covetous
Is the answer to sell all we have, or take a vow of poverty?
No the answer is to be aware of it,
the answer is to say God in what ways you prosper me help me to see it as a good steward, and bless others because of it,
Lord I always want to be in a position where I am compensating your prosperity by being a help and blessing to other people
Has God given you a nice house; use it for the Lord
Has God given you a nice car; use it for the Lord
Negative- I don’t want to give my tithe to the church, why should I give to missions?
I would be a blessing to others with my possessions but it would be such a mess and so much work
Pastor we would like to do more; but we are so busy; I understand busy
I don’t have as much as I need, how can I help others? I don’t have anything to share or give
Ill use my truck to pull my boat, and my hunting trailer, if I used it for others; that would take away from my fun
Positive- Chris Cowen- Using his car to bring bro densen and others to church
Pastor and I staying in beautiful home during a pastor’s school in California
Berains housing Preacher boys; providing home and home cooked meals to the bible students
Child buying me a stone to remind me that David slew a giant with a little stone
Take water
When men are covetous after the things of this world, God has a way of making them to be filled with disappointment and with bitterness
When we choose to be selfish we lose the blessing of God
But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.
And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.
If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?
Do you want the true riches?
Do you want the Lord’s garden to grow; then we must not be selfish with our posessions
When we
His vineyard is his people; the children of Israel and Judah

I would rather indulge the flesh than pray

Devotion to Drunkenness and pleasure not God
Draw a picture with your words
5:12 wine at their feasts
The second woe is directed at those who have essentially made a religion out of drunken partying.
They are so besotted with their depraved and self-centered lifestyle that they have no time to give heed to the work of the Lord or pay attention to affairs of state when invasion and siege is on the horizon
Celebrate everything but the Lord
Music and entertainment that leaves God completely out
Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
Look at their schedule;
Where is God?
Application:
Application:
Let me look at my schedule
What am I devoted?
Negative:
You start watching ungodly entertainment; at first you twinge
Everything is acceptable
No one can talk about the ungodly media idols
Today’s Christians are living in the Wild wild west, people watch whatever they want
There are more young christian’s playing video games, on social media, and on their phone; and then they wonder why it is hard for them to start a conversation about Jesus Christ
They have a set time and place for their show, their relaxation time, their social media, and are up late into the night; but where is God’s time
At the hospital I see elderly christian’s that watch the news all day long
I also struggle; I know I need to spend time in prayer and my flesh just wants to take it easy and relax
I just need some me time; let me just take it easy
The flesh wants you to be idle
Positive:
I know a young man whose Christian life took off; His bible reading skyrocketed, his ability to talk to others and desire to see people saved increased; what did he change? He removed the hours spent in front of a game and said; I cannot be productive with this in my life.
I know a professional hunter; sponsored and paid to go around shooting bambi; who now instead of being on all the pro tours goes makes it a priority in his schedule to go to churches and hold special men’s meetings where he talks about hunting and gives the gospel- he reached men no one in the church could have reached
Tim Tebow a home schooled son of missionaries; led his university football team to the championship and that same summer went into prisons and preached the gospel; seeing hundreds of hardened inmates come who would never darken a chapel service
Roland- come into church from 100 degree weather where I see him walking in; and his knee is bothering him but he makes it early to church
But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.
Romans
Where is my devotion, what does my schedule look like? Who do I make provision for?
we hinder our fruit for jesus christ when we sell out to pleasure
When we are selfish with our possessions
When we sell out to pleasure

Sin is no longer a Problem (vs 18)

but are active and industrious in drawing sin to themselves, or themselves to sin; that greedily and steadily pursue sin
Notice sin always moves from Personal to Public to Pride/Apathy
"Go ahead, God. We are ready for your judgment."
Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
Who knoweth the power of thine anger?
Even according to thy fear, so is thy wrath.
this was the plain language of their actions; maybe they would never say this; but Isaiah is saying for them from their actions
people’s prideful and haughty attitude comes into focus as they express a mocking desire to see God bring about the day of judgment that the prophet is warning them of.
This is their attitude toward the Sermon Isaiah is giving them
Application:
Application:
Carelessness
One of the children of apathy is laziness
Be diligent, be excellent in everything you do
Attitude
Pervasive in youth groups, in churches
A No Care attitude
Increasingly this is taking over our churches
This whatever goes, serah serah mentality and spirit
Killing our productivity for Jesus Christ
Apathy is the soil where more sin grows; and you open yourselves up to a world of hurt
But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.
As a dog returneth to his vomit,
So a fool returneth to his folly.
why; because a dog don’t care; you as the owner care; but the dog don't care
why; because a dog don’t care; you as the owner care; but the dog dont care
the pig could care less about the first place bow from the county fair
Negative: You only live once, I will serve God when I'm older. This is my opportunity; I gave the Lord a chance
Everyone else is doing it; brother and sister so and so
I knew it was wrong but i promised just this one last time
Jaime Mendoza; Drug Addict and Alcoholic; one is enough and a hundred is not enough
We grow and we hide our sin in the closet
Alcoholic This is just the way I am; I asked God to help me
you must take the way to escape
Young man wanted to serve God; came out of a youth camp fired up for Christ; with a new passion for the Lord; had some victory; then thought; well a little won’t hurt; I wont go too far; just up to this line; and it took him away from Christ for the next 5 years of his life; and many never return
We justify our dirt; well everyone needs a little dirt in their life; no one is clean all the time
We even justify our dirt to the innocent; well you see son this dirt is okay for me, just not for you
Positive: When you are fighting and struggling against sin; that is evidence that the holy ghost is at work in you
Young lady who deleted her old pictures and posts on social media
Young man at a meeting brought all his music and burned it
Joseph’s Father- Sat the family down and said; I made a mistake ; this is why (bible) I was wrong and were going a different direction
Mother of three who had left her family for another man; returned; repented; asked forgiveness in front of a church of 1000 people and gave testimony to Jesus Christ and his power!
Father come over to Pastor Bez’s house; weeping and saying I am sick of my sin! I’m tired of it, and he had been coming for over a year to church; but now he was DONE !! it was not okay, and we had been praying for him and he trusted Jesus Christ.
Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

They did not remove the high places that were removed under King David
We know better than God
Jotham is judge over the people as his father the king is an outcast
Then the leaders began using clever and deceptive words, they began blurring moral issues to excuse their sin.
They were tired of feeling convicted under David, They were tired of feeling convicted under the Priest Azariah
Here was a judge soon to be king; who after he saw his father become leprous in the temple never went back to the temple; and they said here is our opportunity
We will switch evil for good and good for evil so we no longer have to feel bad about it
Spirituality was Protested- You hurt the king
Spirituality was Protested (
Who are we talking about?
Who are we talking about?
We are talking about the house of Israel and the men of Judah (vs 7)
Spirituality was Protested (
Sin was Preached- The temple is an evil thing
Judah and Jerusalem in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah ()
Compromise was Preached
This is before the death of Uzziah () so we can agree these warnings were given to Judah and Jerusalem under the king Uzziah
Application:
Application:
Why they did this is the same reason today that you and I do; it is so we can have our sin cakes and eat them to
Uzziah- “he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord…”
Azariah in
Joshua Harris
Negative
16 yo began to reign; reigned 52 years; died at 68 yo
Church:
I believe the last 7 years of his life in a several house.
We call evil good:
you are calling it a prayer request but it is not; you think God does not know
So here Isaiah is preaching and Uzziah is dying in a several house of Leprosy.
Divided over minor doctrines; divided; “contending for the faith”
Jotham- “
It is okay for us to point out things that are unbiblical; but we are not supposed to be categorizing those that are in the body of christ as the lost
Unbiblical standards; legalism is not rules; not even extrabiblical rules; curfew for kids; legalism taking extra biblical rules and judging them by it
Over the house judging the people possibly at 18yo
We call good evil
God has chosen the foolishness of preaching to save them to believe; some people that call what God has chosen calling it evil; i dont shove religion down their throat, that is for the pastor and other people, draw a line; not for me, i don’t believe you should put that on people
Began reigning at age 25 (); reigned 16 years; died at 41 yo
We are talking about a kingdom that is seeing a slow decline
Ezekiel; power and influence; but now calls having a pastor paid by the tithes and offerings evil, and now calls water baptism evil; this has only hurt his fruitfulness for Christ
When we are selfish with our possessions
When we sell out to pleasure
When our sin is no longer a problem
When we switch around our principles
When
Christians who see a decline not only in the spiritual climate around them, but even in their own spiritual growth and fervor

TEXT: Living, dying example of Uzziah
2 chronicles 26:26
His heart was lifted up to his destruction (765 BC)
They have arrived, no more need to learn
Then Uzziah was wroth, and had a censer in his hand to burn incense: and while he was wroth with the priests, the leprosy even rose up in his forehead before the priests in the house of the Lord, from beside the incense altar.
Uzziah was wroth- did not receive reproof
Uzziah did not have to worry about Leprosy when he was busy ensuring the welfare of his soldiers, the defense of his cities
God helped him when he was in the trenches fighting alongside his troops against the philistines
God blessed him he was helping getting his hands dirty planting vineyards and starting cattle ranches for the good of his people.
What happened?
What can happen to all of us; we can allow God’s helping us and God’s blessing us to make us think we are something special and become wroth when we are opposed or when God says no.
What happens to you when God says no?
What happens when people attempt to reprove me?
Josephus also expands on the account of Uzziah’s disease, stating that Uzziah threatened the priest Azariah with death if he didn’t acquiesce to Uzziah’s demands.
Forced to live in isolation until his death
Cut off from his sovereignty, his soldiers, his son and his service to God
No lepers allowed in the temple
As a leper, Uzziah was denied burial in the royal tombs at Jerusalem. Rather, he was buried in a field (26:23).
Application
Application
We are talking about kings that overall love and seek God but have made some serious mistakes and need to correct them.
Negative
Ezekiel- no accountability, always right, always the smartest in the room
Positive
Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.
When we are selfish with our possessions
When we sell out to pleasure
When our sin is no longer a problem
When we switch around our principles
When self is preeminent
When our
Church members and visitors here today that have a heart for God, and are here at church to hear from God, for which God is please; but he wants you to correct some mistakes in your life.

The imagery contrasts what heroes and valiant men should be with what they actually are—drunks only skilled at drinking, not able leaders.
“Justify the wicked for reward” (). When a judge is a drinker, his ability to judge fairly is greatly impaired, and he will be very open to bribes.
These are men who care only for their own pleasure and entertainment, and care nothing for others
subordinates are
Sanction
Support sin for Profit
Using their wealth for their own selfish pleasures
We are talking about people that have taken advantage of lax authority to do things their way. In transition and business of authority; accountability has somewhat been lost.
Your here today and you have been slipping through the proverbial cracks, you preacher, your friends, your spouse do not know what you have been getting away with and God wants to bring it front and center.
Take bribe
Do not us
We are talking about the southern kingdom who are far closer to God than their Northern counterpart.
Because they don't hold themselves accountable it is hard to hold others accountable
Can I encourage you today that God sent Isaiah and his word to those he hoped would hear it, would heed it.
Ruling in favor of wickedness
The one speaking for God is the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz ()
Corrupting the innocent
What are we talking about
God also sends two other prophets; Hosea () and Micah ()
Jade people from serving God “take the righteousness away from the righteous”
Application:
Application:
Why?
Why?
What people use their influence for
Why God gives harsh warnings- I thought these were fairly good kings, why is the word of God so harsh in it’s judgment and it’s warnings? Remember often when we hear preaching or are convicted; God is looking down the line and seeing the ultimate destruction of what we are allowing in our hearts and lives.
Parents, leaders in church
Ability to make the call and going to influence:
Do you realize Uzziah could have been me?
What is easy and is best for them
For benefit not what is right
Because of who they are to God- The children of Israel needed to understand there were some wrong roots producing in them the plant, some bad fruit, and spoiling their fruit for God who planted them, raised them, cared for them and protected them.
Negative: Pastor of church;
Man in trailer who hated God because pastor lied to him
Strong men in the faith leave the church after discovering the pastor was stealing money here in san antonio
Stephanie Yeargin- watched christian students who lied, cheated and hurt others, and christian teachers who did nothing
Then said he unto the disciples, It is impossible but that offences will come: but woe unto him, through whom they come! It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.
many times we offend because we use our power and influence for ease and wrong
Positive
The church sees a christian crying and go and say let me pray with you whats going on
A successful construction engineer with a beautiful wife and children leaves his cozy and comfylife and moves to medellin columbia the drug capital at one point of the world when he sees a need
The church knows that a pastor has gone through loss and takes a loving stand against slander and lies by saying we stand with you pastor
Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
Example of hard call that did not benefit them; the right call
Why God warns them is because he loves them- why you shout at your child to get out of the street
They needed to understand that unless they started changing their root and producing fruit for God that he would be forced to remove his protection (vs 5) and care (vs 6)
Lady in church for years; faithful loved the church, brought visitors, main givers; did not make a lot of money; husband came off and on, one year, the husband discovered how much money she gave and told her; I don't want you to go to that church anymore,
Take a holy stand for righteousness even if it hurts you

In the early hours of March 13, 1964, 28-year-old Kitty Genovese was stabbed outside the apartment building across the street from where she lived in an apartment above a row of shops on Austin street in Kew Gardens, Queens, a borough of New York City.[2][3] Two weeks after the murder, The New York Times[4] published an article claiming that 38 witnesses saw or heard the attack, but none of them called the police or came to her aid.[5]
