Introduction

How many of you have felt powerless?
Have you wished you were stronger?
Have you ever tried really hard but failed?
What if I told you that its’ okay and you don’t have to be powerful enough or strong enough?
I have some good news for you because the power of Jesus is always with you, in fact Jesus’ power is with us right now.
Ephesians 6:10 NIV
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.
If you have accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior then you are “IN CHRIST” and you can rely on His power. (example: It’s like me and you live in our parents house and belong to the family) That’s what it means to be IN CHRIST, you are a part of God’s family now!
If you have accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior then you are “IN CHRIST” and you can rely on His power.
What you can do in His power is so much better than anything you could do in your own power.
I want to tell you 3 things that His Power can help us do …
1. His power can help you live a stronger Christian life.

2 Peter 1:3 NIV
3 His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.
The Apostle Paul prayed this for every Christian, even us as kids!
Ephesians 3:16 NIV
16 I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being,
**Do you know what I love and can never get enough of? ICE CREAM!! Anyone else? I get so disappointed when we run out of my favorite ice cream at home!!!!!
The cool thing with God is that He’ll never run out of all that we need, we simply need to ask.
This phrase in , “Out of his glorious riches” means that God is never going to run out of anything!
**I LOVE ICE CREAM!! Anyone else? I get so disappointed when we run out of my favorite ice cream at home!!!!! (Can you guess my favorite flavor)
2. His power can help you win spiritual battles.
Spiritual battles are battles that go on in your heart and your mind.
2 Corinthians 10:4 NIV
4 The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.
3. His power can help you be a better witness for Jesus.
God wants us to be a good example, and He wants us to share Jesus’ love with everyone!
After Jesus rose from the grave, He told His disciples this:
Acts 1.8
Acts 1:8 NIV
8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
Closing example:
We all have a work to do for Jesus. I brought a rake with me today. How many of you know what this is used for?
It’s used to rake leaves. How many of you have every used it?
This rake can represent our lives without His power. But with his power, we can do so much more.
I also brought another tool with me today that does the same job, but with POWER!!!
It’s a LEAF BLOWER. (Plug in to powersource and demonstrate)
Like I said at the beginning, What you can do in His power is so much better than anything you could do in your own power.
As a reminder, I want to leave you with this verse:
Ephesians 6:10 NIV
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.
Ephesians 6:1 NIV
1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.
Closing
If you haven’t accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you can do it today and ask Him for more of His power!!
