Introduction
How many of you have felt powerless?
Have you wished you were stronger?
Have you ever tried really hard but failed?
What if I told you that its’ okay and you don’t have to be powerful enough or strong enough?
I have some good news for you because the power of Jesus is always with you, in fact Jesus’ power is with us right now.
If you have accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior then you are “IN CHRIST” and you can rely on His power.
(example: It’s like me and you live in our parents house and belong to the family) That’s what it means to be IN CHRIST, you are a part of God’s family now!
If you have accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior then you are “IN CHRIST” and you can rely on His power.
What you can do in His power is so much better than anything you could do in your own power.
I want to tell you 3 things that His Power can help us do …
1.
His power can help you live a stronger Christian life.
2 peter
The Apostle Paul prayed this for every Christian, even us as kids!
**Do you know what I love and can never get enough of?
ICE CREAM!! Anyone else?
I get so disappointed when we run out of my favorite ice cream at home!!!!!
The cool thing with God is that He’ll never run out of all that we need, we simply need to ask.
This phrase in , “Out of his glorious riches” means that God is never going to run out of anything!
**I LOVE ICE CREAM!! Anyone else?
I get so disappointed when we run out of my favorite ice cream at home!!!!! (Can you guess my favorite flavor)
2. His power can help you win spiritual battles.
Spiritual battles are battles that go on in your heart and your mind.
3. His power can help you be a better witness for Jesus.
God wants us to be a good example, and He wants us to share Jesus’ love with everyone!
After Jesus rose from the grave, He told His disciples this:
Acts 1.8
Closing example:
We all have a work to do for Jesus.
I brought a rake with me today.
How many of you know what this is used for?
It’s used to rake leaves.
How many of you have every used it?
This rake can represent our lives without His power.
But with his power, we can do so much more.
I also brought another tool with me today that does the same job, but with POWER!!!
It’s a LEAF BLOWER.
(Plug in to powersource and demonstrate)
Like I said at the beginning, What you can do in His power is so much better than anything you could do in your own power.
As a reminder, I want to leave you with this verse:
Closing
If you haven’t accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you can do it today and ask Him for more of His power!!
