Bold & Courageous
tPt 8-14-19
- As soon as they were released from custody, Peter and John went to the other believers and explained all that had happened with the high priest and the elders. 24 When the believers heard their report, they raised their voices in unity and prayed, “Lord Yahweh,[n] you are the Lord of all! You created the universe—the earth, the sky, the sea, and everything that is in them.
- They are putting God 1st & resting in Him, Remember the church is in prayer in “UNITY”! (- “You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, for the LORD will not leave him unpunished who takes His name in vain.)
3rd Commandment deals not only with the use of God’s name but with the controlling one’s tongue as well. ( So they had them brought back in before the council, and they commanded them to never teach the people or speak again using the name of Jesus.) When we claim His name & character can’t be separated!
() “Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
Sabbath- to be a holy day set aside for God. Hebrew word means to “desist” REST
This is a time of rest from normal activities & to worship & honor God! Focus on Eternal & spiritual things! Israelites- (1) Were expected to follow the example God himself set when He rested after 6 days of creation () This brings refreshment spiritually, mentally & physically (2) The Sabbath was a sign they belonged to God (- “But as for you, speak to the sons of Israel, saying, ‘You shall surely observe My sabbaths; for this is a sign between Me and you throughout your generations, that you may know that I am the LORD who sanctifies you.) (3) Reminder of the deliverance from Egypt; -‘You shall remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, and the LORD your God brought you out of there by a mighty hand and by an outstretched arm; therefore the LORD your God commanded you to observe the sabbath day.
What does the Sabbath means to us? - God blessed the seventh day & made it holy. This shows us that God made this a example for not just the Jewish but all!
- Jesus said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath. (28) “So the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath.” - “If because of the sabbath, you turn your foot From doing your own pleasure on My holy day, And call the sabbath a delight, the holy day of the LORD honorable, And honor it, desisting from your own ways, From seeking your own pleasure And speaking your own word, (14) Then you will take delight in the LORD, And I will make you ride on the heights of the earth; And I will feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father, For the mouth of the LORD has spoken.”
Stewardship of time-
1 Cor. 5:33- Do not be deceived: “Bad company corrupts good morals.”
- “I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me. NASB
The Passion Translation (TPT)
12 Your hearts can soar with joyful gratitude when you think of how God made you worthy to receive the glorious inheritance freely given to us by living in the light.[a] 13 He has rescued us completely from the tyrannical rule (controlling & oppressive)[b] of darkness and has translated us into the kingdom realm of his beloved Son. 14 For in the Son all our sins are canceled, and we have the release of redemption through his very blood.

Pastor Angie
- My frame was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret, And skillfully wrought in the depths of the earth; (16) Your eyes have seen my unformed substance; And in Your book were all written The days that were ordained for me, When as yet there was not one of them. (17) How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How vast is the sum of them!
- I delight to do Your will, O my God; Your Law is within my heart.”
- Therefore, when He comes into the world, He says, “SACRIFICE AND OFFERING YOU HAVE NOT DESIRED, BUT A BODY YOU HAVE PREPARED FOR ME; (6) IN WHOLE BURNT OFFERINGS AND sacrifices FOR SIN YOU HAVE TAKEN NO PLEASURE. (7) “THEN I SAID, ‘BEHOLD, I HAVE COME (IN THE SCROLL OF THE BOOK IT IS WRITTEN OF ME) TO DO YOUR WILL, O GOD.’”
- For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.
REAL IDENTITY
- Then the voice which I heard from heaven, I heard again speaking with me, and saying, “Go, take the book which is open in the hand of the angel who stands on the sea and on the land.” (9) So I went to the angel, telling him to give me the little book. And he *said to me, “Take it and eat it; it will make your stomach bitter, but in your mouth it will be sweet as honey.” (10) I took the little book out of the angel’s hand and ate it, and in my mouth it was sweet as honey; and when I had eaten it, my stomach was made bitter. (11) And they *said to me, “You must prophesy again concerning many peoples and nations and tongues and kings.”
(1) I solemnly charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by His appearing and His kingdom: (2) preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction. NASB
Call out the false teacher /
Reprove- to confute, admonish:—convict, convince, tell a fault, rebuke, reprove. By Word
i.to reprehend severely, chide, admonish, reprove
ii.to call to account, show one his fault, demand an explanation
A. by deed
.to chasten, to punish
- Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.
- For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God.
Rebuke- - But Michael the archangel, when he disputed with the devil and argued about the body of Moses, did not dare pronounce against him a railing judgment, but said, “The Lord rebuke you!”
Michael the highest ranking angel didn’t slander Satan but relied on God’s power, authority, & WORD.
- And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour.
- He *said to them, “Why are you afraid, you men of little faith?” Then He got up and rebuked G2008 the winds and the sea, and it became perfectly calm.
Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke G2008 Him, saying, “God forbid it, Lord! This shall never happen to You.”
I.Exhort, Exhortation: to call to one's side, call for, summon
II.to address, speak to, (call to, call upon), which may be done in the way of exhortation, entreaty, comfort, instruction, etc.
A. to admonish, exhort
B. to beg, entreat, beseech
i.to strive to appease by entreaty
C. to console, to encourage and strengthen by consolation, to comfort

- But you, be sober in all things, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.
Watchful- Be to be free from the influence of intoxicants; to abstain from wine," is used metaphorically of moral "alertness," and translated "to watch
Endure hardship- suffer, endure, afflicted - Are there any believers in your fellowship suffering great hardship and distress? Encourage them to pray! Are there happy, cheerful ones among you? Encourage them to sing out their praises! 14 Are there any sick among you? Then ask the elders of the church to come and pray over the sick and anoint them with oil in the name of our Lord. 15 And the prayer of faith[c] will heal the sick[d] and the Lord will raise them up,[e] and if they have committed sins[f] they will be forgiven. tPt
How do we continue to endure…. By FAITH we are courageous, we see from God’s perspective! We step when everyone else says stop, we operate out of the Mind of Christ, as forerunners it want make sense, but with obedience we strike the ground & the Red Sea splits & generations can be lead out of “walking captivity”
Do the work of an evangelist- - So never be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor be embarrassed over my imprisonment, but overcome every evil by the revelation of the power of God! - But give reverent honor in your hearts to the Anointed One and treat him as the holy Master[a] of your lives. And if anyone asks[b] about the hope living within you, always be ready to explain your faith
fulfill your ministry- - Yet how much more radiant is this new and glorious ministry of the Spirit that shines from us!
Holy Spirit (Person) - Now, the “Lord” I’m referring to is the Holy Spirit,[a] and wherever he is Lord, there is freedom. tPt We see “the Lord” refers to Holy Spirit; when we are walking in the Spirit, He rules, speaks, engraving truth, freeing us in spirit, soul, body! This a continual process of relationship with Holy Spirit! - according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, by the sanctifying work of the Spirit, to obey Jesus Christ and be sprinkled with His blood: May grace and peace be yours in the fullest measure.
Holy Spirit- Thinks; - and He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. NASB; Feels- - Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
Wills (desires, determines & purposes specific things, - But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually just as He wills.) He has been sent by the Father where we can enjoy personal companionship!
Holy Spirit constantly reminds us we are child of God!
Holy Spirit helps us through surrender & faith to God; He helps to pray, worship, & honor God! (, ) Holy Spirit guides us into all truth, He is a teacher & Counselor (, , ) He continues to pour out LOVE () Gives us joy, comfort, help (, )
- in the future there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day; and not only to me, but also to all who have loved His appearing.
Unwanted Assignment Prophet Yvonne
Surgery- no calls no communication
- FOR THOSE WHOM THE LORD LOVES HE DISCIPLINES, AND HE SCOURGES EVERY SON WHOM HE RECEIVES.” (7) It is for discipline that you endure; God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom his father does not discipline? (8) But if you are without discipline, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate children and not sons. (9) Furthermore, we had earthly fathers to discipline us, and we respected them; shall we not much rather be subject to the Father of spirits, and live?
God storm…… Is sent for a TRUE YES….
- “For which one of you, when he wants to build a tower, does not first sit down and calculate the cost to see if he has enough to complete it?
- “Arise, go to Nineveh the great city and cry against it, for their wickedness has come up before Me.” (3) But Jonah rose up to flee to Tarshish from the presence of the LORD. So he went down to Joppa, found a ship which was going to Tarshish, paid the fare and went down into it to go with them to Tarshish from the presence of the LORD. (4) The LORD hurled a great wind on the sea and there was a great storm on the sea so that the ship was about to break up. (5) Then the sailors became afraid and every man cried to his god, and they threw the cargo which was in the ship into the sea to lighten it for them. But Jonah had gone below into the hold of the ship, lain down and fallen sound asleep. (6) So the captain approached him and said, “How is it that you are sleeping? Get up, call on your god. Perhaps your god will be concerned about us so that we will not perish.” (7) Each man said to his mate, “Come, let us cast lots so we may learn on whose account this calamity has struck us.” So they cast lots and the lot fell on Jonah. (8) Then they said to him, “Tell us, now! On whose account has this calamity struck us? What is your occupation? And where do you come from? What is your country? From what people are you?” (9) He said to them, “I am a Hebrew, and I fear the LORD God of heaven who made the sea and the dry land.” (10) Then the men became extremely frightened and they said to him, “How could you do this?” For the men knew that he was fleeing from the presence of the LORD, because he had told them. (11) So they said to him, “What should we do to you that the sea may become calm for us?”—for the sea was becoming increasingly stormy. (12) He said to them, “Pick me up and throw me into the sea. Then the sea will become calm for you, for I know that on account of me this great storm has come upon you.” (13) However, the men rowed desperately to return to land but they could not, for the sea was becoming even stormier against them. (14) Then they called on the LORD and said, “We earnestly pray, O LORD, do not let us perish on account of this man’s life and do not put innocent blood on us; for You, O LORD, have done as You have pleased.” (15) So they picked up Jonah, threw him into the sea, and the sea stopped its raging. (16) Then the men feared the LORD greatly, and they offered a sacrifice to the LORD and made vows. (17) And the LORD appointed a great fish to swallow Jonah, and Jonah was in the stomach of the fish three days and three nights.
- Are there any believers in your fellowship suffering great hardship and distress? Encourage them to pray![a] Are there happy, cheerful ones among you? Encourage them to sing out their praises![b] 14 Are there any sick among you? Then ask the elders of the church to come and pray over the sick and anoint them with oil in the name of our Lord. 15 And the prayer of faith[c] will heal the sick[d] and the Lord will raise them up,[e] and if they have committed sins[f] they will be forgiven.
Be moved by compassion, not emotions!!! 9-02-19
- When the Lord saw her, He felt compassion for her, and said to her, “Do not weep.”
- And Jesus called His disciples to Him, and said, “I feel compassion for the people, because they have remained with Me now three days and have nothing to eat; and I do not want to send them away hungry, for they might faint on the way.”
Compassion- to be moved with deep compassion or pity. The Greek regarded the bowels (splanchna) where tender mercies & feelings of affection, compassion, sympathy, & pity originated. It’s the direct motive for at least 5 of Jesus miracles!
- Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. (15) For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin. (16) Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
Breaking Disunity with the GLORY
- urge Euodia and I urge Syntyche to live in harmony in the Lord. (3) Indeed, true companion, I ask you also to help these women who have shared my struggle in the cause of the gospel, together with Clement also and the rest of my fellow workers, whose names are in the book of life. (4) Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice! (5) Let your gentle spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near.
Ageism- - Let no one look down on your youthfulness, but rather in speech, conduct, love, faith and purity, show yourself an example of those who believe. - You younger men, likewise, be subject to your elders; and all of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, for GOD IS OPPOSED TO THE PROUD, BUT GIVES GRACE TO THE HUMBLE.
Sexism- Lydia - And when he realized this, he went to the house of Mary, the mother of John who was also called Mark, where many were gathered together and were praying.
Racism- Vision Samaritan woman at the well
- Now while Peter was greatly perplexed in mind as to what the vision which he had seen might be, behold, the men who had been sent by Cornelius, having asked directions for Simon’s house, appeared at the gate;
Perplexed- to be in doubt
Competition- Denominations, gifts, ONE BODY
-preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction.
(6) Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. (7) And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (8) Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.
- In this you greatly rejoice, even though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been distressed by various trials, (7) so that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold which is perishable, even though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
distressed by various trials- trials here are an outward pressure, from the world or demonic. Peter says rejoice in this; this is not an emotion even know it may impact your emotion! Joy is knowing God is in control of the circumstance know matter what it looks like! By rejoicing you give God the situation, the Word says He is an all-consuming FIRE! Other words as you submit to Him all lies & darkness are exposed & burnt up. Then you see from His perspective by accessing the Mind of Christ! You then bring Kingdom Culture & become a problem solver! Results proven FAITH! People hear Jesus every day; become an example of who you trust & proclaim!!!
- obtaining as the outcome of your faith the salvation of your souls. -
- Therefore, prepare your minds for action, keep sober in spirit, fix your hope completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. (14) As obedient children, do not be conformed to the former lusts which were yours in your ignorance, (15) but like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior; (16) because it is written, “YOU SHALL BE HOLY, FOR I AM HOLY.”
-9-19
- Therefore, putting aside all malice (wickedness) and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander, (2) like newborn babies, long for the pure milk of the word, so that by it you may grow in respect to salvation, (3) if you have tasted the kindness of the Lord.
Malice- ill-will, desire to injure
Wickedness, depravity- wickedness that is not ashamed to break laws
Deceit- craft, deceit, guile
A trick (bait)
Hypocrisy-
Envy-
Slander-
- and He made no distinction between us and them, cleansing their hearts by faith. (10) “Now therefore why do you put God to the test by placing upon the neck of the disciples a yoke which neither our fathers nor we have been able to bear? (11) “But we believe that we are saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus, in the same way as they also are.” (12) All the people kept silent, and they were listening to Barnabas and Paul as they were relating what signs and wonders God had done through them among the Gentiles.
Priest & Kings
- So keep coming to him who is the Living Stone[a]—though he was rejected and discarded by men but chosen by God and is priceless in God’s sight. 5 Come and be his “living stones”[b] who are continually being assembled into a sanctuary for God. For now you serve as holy priests,[c] offering up spiritual sacrifices that he readily accepts through Jesus Christ. 6 For it says in Scripture:
Look! I lay a cornerstone in Zion,[d] a chosen and priceless stone! And whoever believes in him will certainly not be disappointed.
The Passion Translation (TPT)
9 But you are God’s chosen treasure[a]—priests who are kings,[b] a spiritual “nation” set apart as God’s devoted ones. He called you out of darkness to experience his marvelous light, and now he claims you as his very own. He did this so that you would broadcast his glorious wonders throughout the world.
The Passion Translation (TPT)
10 You have chosen us to serve our God and formed us into a kingdom of priests who reign[a] on the earth.”

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From the fruit of a man’s mouth he enjoys good, But the desire of the treacherous is violence. (3) The one who guards his mouth preserves his life; The one who opens wide his lips comes to ruin.
- Poverty and shame will come to him who neglects discipline, But he who regards reproof will be honored.
He who withholds his rod hates his son, But he who loves him disciplines him diligently.
:25The righteous has enough to satisfy his appetite, But the stomach of the wicked is in need.
- O taste and see that the LORD is good (-if you have tasted the kindness of the Lord.); How blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him! (9) O fear the LORD, you His saints; For to those who fear Him there is no want. (10) The young lions do lack and suffer hunger; But they who seek the LORD shall not be in want of any good thing. (11) Come, you children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD. (12) Who is the man who desires life And loves length of days that he may see good? (13) Keep your tongue from evil And your lips from speaking deceit. (14) Depart from evil and do good; Seek peace and pursue it. - For, “THE ONE WHO DESIRES LIFE, TO LOVE AND SEE GOOD DAYS, MUST KEEP HIS TONGUE FROM EVIL AND HIS LIPS FROM SPEAKING DECEIT. (11) “HE MUST TURN AWAY FROM EVIL AND DO GOOD; HE MUST SEEK PEACE AND PURSUE IT. (12) “FOR THE EYES OF THE LORD ARE TOWARD THE RIGHTEOUS, AND HIS EARS ATTEND TO THEIR PRAYER, BUT THE FACE OF THE LORD IS AGAINST THOSE WHO DO EVIL.”
- You hide them in the secret place of Your presence from the conspiracies of man; You keep them secretly in a shelter from the strife of tongues.
- Keep your tongue from evil And your lips from speaking deceit. (14) Depart from evil and do good; Seek peace and pursue it. (15) The eyes of the LORD are toward the righteous And His ears are open to their cry. (16) The face of the LORD is against evildoers, To cut off the memory of them from the earth. (17) The righteous cry, and the LORD hears And delivers them out of all their troubles. (18) The LORD is near to the brokenhearted And saves those who are crushed in spirit. (19) Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the LORD delivers him out of them all.
Is there a Ram in the BUSH! Prophet Yvonne Dawson
Test of our sacrifice
- Samuel said, “Has the LORD as much delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices As in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, And to heed than the fat of rams.
Obey were there is no sacrifice!!!
- God will provide
Totally Surrender
Divine Alignment
Believe but help my unbelief
Give Him the PROMISE back to the LORD! NO self-reliance Obey & Trust He wants to ESTABLISH the Promise in our lives!!! GREATER Double
- “For rebellion is as the sin of divination, And insubordination is as iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the LORD, He has also rejected you from being king.”
- Then he said to me, “This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel saying, ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the LORD of hosts.
- “For who has despised the day of small things? But these seven will be glad when they see the plumb line in the hand of Zerubbabel—these are the eyes of the LORD which range to and fro throughout the earth.”
THERE IS NO EFFECTIVE PRAYER WITHOUT RIGHT LIVING!!!
- To sum up, all of you be harmonious, sympathetic, brotherly, kindhearted, and humble in spirit; (9) not returning evil for evil or insult for insult, but giving a blessing instead; for you were called for the very purpose that you might inherit a blessing. (10) For, “THE ONE WHO DESIRES LIFE, TO LOVE AND SEE GOOD DAYS, MUST KEEP HIS TONGUE FROM EVIL AND HIS LIPS FROM SPEAKING DECEIT. (11) “HE MUST TURN AWAY FROM EVIL AND DO GOOD;HE MUST SEEK PEACE AND PURSUE IT.
- When you lift up your hands in prayer, I will not look. Though you offer many prayers, I will not listen, for your hands are covered with the blood of innocent victims.
- Who may ascend into the hill of the LORD? And who may stand in His holy place? (4) He who has clean hands and a pure heart, Who has not lifted up his soul to falsehood And has not sworn deceitfully.
- Come and listen, all you who fear God, and I will tell you what he did for me. (17) For I cried out to him for help, praising him as I spoke. (18) If I had not confessed the sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened. (19) But God did listen! He paid attention to my prayer. (20) Praise God, who did not ignore my prayer or withdraw his unfailing love from me. NLT
- “FOR THE EYES OF THE LORD ARE TOWARD THE RIGHTEOUS, AND HIS EARS ATTEND TO THEIR PRAYER, BUT THE FACE OF THE LORD IS AGAINST THOSE WHO DO EVIL.”
- Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much.
