This man Jesus was in love with creation and it was a part of God’s (The Godhead/Trinity) plan to make mankind into one family.

So Jesus does not just come as the Lamb of God, the source of forgiveness and salvation, but He also comes as a bridegroom the source of intimacy and deep relationship.
When a bride and a bridegroom marry, the two separate beings become one and the Bible calls this a great mystery.
31 For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and shall be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.
32 This mystery is great; but I am speaking with reference to Christ and the church.

It was Jesus’ great desire to be one with man.
That they might be one as we are one
Notice Paul says, “I am speaking with reference to Christ and the church.” This statement helps us parallel the previous verses.
25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her,
26 so that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word,
27 that He might present to Himself the church in all her glory, having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that she would be holy and blameless.
28 So husbands ought also to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself;
29 for no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ also does the church,
So now we are presented with a great parallel. Husbands love your wives like Christ loves the church.
Here we see Christ taking the position as the husband and we the church taking the position as the bride.
Jesus Christ is the bridegroom.
Our bridegroom and this man is in love with his bride.
John the Baptist testified to this fact when he said,
28 “You yourselves are my witnesses that I said, ‘I am not the Christ,’ but, ‘I have been sent ahead of Him.’
29 “He who has the bride is the bridegroom; but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice. So this joy of mine has been made full.

Not only was John sent ahead to declare
29 The next day he saw Jesus coming to him and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!

but he also comes to declare he was a friend of the bridegroom.
Jesus has come as a bridegroom to marry his bride.
Jesus also identifies Himself as the bridegroom when the Pharisees asked Him why His disciples don’t fast.
Jesus responds to them saying,
19 And Jesus said to them, “While the bridegroom is with them, the attendants of the bridegroom cannot fast, can they? So long as they have the bridegroom with them, they cannot fast.
20 “But the days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they will fast in that day.

Jesus says that as the long as the bridegroom is with His attendant (the disciple, His follower) they cannot fast, but there will come a day that He will be taken away.
Here Jesus is referring to the day when He will be taken up to heaven to be seated at the right hand of His Father, but before He was taken up the bridegroom has found Himself a bride and that bride, my friend, is me and you..
I would like to quickly deal with one theological issue here.
Some would say this teaching of Jesus as the bridegroom is futuristic and eschatological and this event will only happen at the end of time in the last days after the return of Christ at the Marriage Supper of the Lamb.
7 “Let us rejoice and be glad and give the glory to Him, for the marriage of the Lamb has come and His bride has made herself ready.”
8 It was given to her to clothe herself in fine linen, bright and clean; for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.
9 Then he said to me, “Write, ‘Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.’ ” And he said to me, “These are true words of God.”
Rev 19:7-9

Let me just say, we are His bride now!
Paul says this,
4 Therefore, my brethren, you also were made to die to the Law through the body of Christ, so that you might be joined to another, to Him who was raised from the dead, in order that we might bear fruit for God.

Speaking of the relationship we should enter into after salvation, Paul also writes,
2 For I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy; for I betrothed you to one husband, so that to Christ I might present you as a pure virgin.
This should be the objective and the heart of every preacher and pastor to betroth.

The Greek word for “betrothed” here is the word harmozō meaning, to join.
Once again, we are His bride NOW and at the end of the age we will have the ceremony and the Father and the bridegroom will be there.
Listen more than I want you to like me or to receive me. I want you to be joined to a man that loves you more that I do.
So when preaching or talking about the Father why is all this important?
Well, I am glad you asked. Because the Bible says,
” and if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ.”
17 and if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him.

When we become joined to Christ we share in His inheritance and that is not just limited to salvation and healing, but it also means that we share in His sonship.
So, just as He is a Son, we also become sons of God through the work of Christ Jesus.
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
4 to obtain an inheritance which is imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, reserved in heaven for you,

Jesus is a lover
And what a lover he is

Jesus himself can be seen and reveal throughout the old testements
He says later in

45 Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures,
46 and He said to them, “Thus it is written, that the Christ would suffer and rise again from the dead the third day,

in songs of songs we see this beautiful interaction that intended to show us a side of God that can be overlook ignored and undercovered.
This man is madly in love what a woman his bride.
His love melts her heart.
He longs for her so she longs for him
She desires he presence and his encouters. She thinks of him all night.
He proclaim her beauty and it chances everything the way she talk the way she walk the way she thinks.
To finally she admits that she is lovesick

We can not enjoy the beauty of the rugged and blood cross into we undertand that this man bleed and died because he is passionate and a love.
He wants you

Condemned to Crucifixion
In the early morning, Jesus, battered and bruised, dehydrated, and exhausted from a sleepless night, was taken across Jerusalem to the Fortress Antonia. It was there, in response to the cries of the mob, that Pilate ordered Bar-Abbas released and condemned Jesus to crucifixion.
Flogging first
The prisoner is stripped of His clothing and His hands tied to a post above His head. The Romans steps forward with the flagrum in his hand. This is a short whip consisting of several heavy, leather thongs with two small balls of lead attached to the ends of each. The heavy whip is brought down with fill force again and again across Jesus’ shoulders, back and legs.
At first the heavy thongs cut through the skin only. Then, as the blows continue, they cut deeper into tissues, producing first an oozing of blood from the capillaries and veins of the skin, and finally spurting bleeding from vessels in the underlying muscles. The small balls of lead first produce large, deep bruises which are broken open by subsequent blows.
Finally the skin of the back is hanging in long ribbons and the entire area is an unrecognizable mass of torn, bleeding tissue. When it is determined by the soldier in charge that the prisoner is near death, the beating is stopped.
The half-fainting Jesus is then untied and allowed to slump to the stone pavement, wet with His own blood. The Roman soldiers see a great joke in this Jew claiming to be a king. They throw a robe across His shoulders and place a stick in His hand. A small bundle of flexible branches covered with long thorns is pressed into His scalp.
Again there is copious bleeding (the scalp being one of the most vascular areas in the body). After mocking Him and striking Him across the face, the soldiers take the stick from His hand and strike Him across the head, driving the thorns deeper into His scalp. Finally, they tire of their sadistic sport and the robe is torn from his back.
The walk to crucifixion
The heavy beam of the cross is then tied across His shoulders, and the procession of the condemned Christ, two thieves and the execution detail, begins its slow journey, The weight of the heavy wooden beam, together with the shock produced by copious blood loss, is too much. He stumbles and falls. The rough wood of the beam gouges into the skin and muscles of the shoulders. He tries to rise, but human muscles have been pushed beyond their endurance.
The nails of crucifixion
At Golgotha, the beam is placed on the ground and Jesus is quickly thrown backward with His shoulders against the wood. The solder feels for the depression at the front of the wrist. He drives a heavy, square, wrought-iron nail through the wrist and deep into the wood. Quickly, he moves to the other side and repeats the action, being careful not to pull the arms too tightly, but to allow some flexion and movement. The beam is then lifted in place at the top of the posts and the sign reading “Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews” is nailed in place.
The pain of crucifixion
The left foot is pressed backward against the right foot, and with both feet extended, toes down, a nail is driven through the arch of each. As he pushes Himself upward to avoid the stretching torment, He places His full weight on the nail through His feet. Again there is the searing agony of the nail through His feet. Again there is the searing agony of the nail tearing through the nerves between the bones through the feet.
Crucifixion - the medical effects
As the arms fatigue, great waves of cramps sweep over the muscles, knotting them in deep, relentless, throbbing pain. With these cramps comes the inability to push Himself upward. Hanging by His arms, the pectoral muscles are unable to act. Air can be drawn into the lungs, but cannot be exhaled. Jesus fights to raise Himself in order to get even one short breath. Finally, carbon dioxide builds up in the lungs and in the blood stream and the cramps partially subside.
Hours of this limitless pain, cycles of twisting, joint-rending cramps, intermittent partial asphyxiation, searing pain as tissue is torn from His back as He moves up and down against the rough timber. Then another agony begins. A deep crushing pain deep in the chest as it slowly fills with serum and begins to compress the heart.
The compressed heart is struggling to pump heavy, thick, sluggish blood into the tissues - the tortured lungs are making a frantic effort to gasp in small gulps of air. The markedly dehydrated tissues send their flood to the brain. Jesus gasps, “I thirst.”
Crucifixion - the last gasp
He can feel the chill of death creeping through His tissues. With one last surge of strength, He once again presses His torn feet against the nail, straightens His legs, takes a deeper breath, and utters His seventh and last cry, “Father, into thy hands I commit my spirit.”
Apparently to make doubly sure of death, the soldier drove his lance through the fifth interspace between the ribs, upward through the heart. Immediately there came out blood and water. We, therefore, have rather conclusive post-mortem evidence that Our Lord died, not the usual crucifixion death by suffocation, but of heart failure due to shock and constriction of the heart by fluid in the pericardium.
This man died so that we could be one. This man hung on the cross with his arms open saying come to know me.
You are the ones that I want. Come to me.
For my yoke is easy and my burdens are light. You can know me
I am your and you are mine
And for the joy sit before him he endured the pain of the cross..
He indeed wants a bride. He indeed want you and me.
Come his arms are still open.
He is still in love and as he sit by the father in heaven his conversation is full of words about you.
