Plus Ultra God
Plus Ultra God
FC 2019 Crockett
Dr. Claunch
Lord has been speaking to me about the word Oppression
And He took me to
plus one other verse I’m gonna read.
i will explain this more towards the end of the message but I
Want to speak on The Plus Ultra God in your future.
there are 3 things that I’m going to talk on today that the Holy Spirit has for you and has called me to preach and its definitely not one of the easiest messages to preach as we learn to and begin to unmask the enemy’s strategy.
but I’m telling you here today God wants to unmask the enemy’s strategy so that He may pour in freedom and get you where He wants you to be.
Paul Said in 2 Corin 2: 11[=-. 11 so that Satan will not outsmart us. For we are familiar with his evil schemes.
Another translation says For we are not ignorant of his devices. The greek word there for devices is Methodon(Meth-o-dia) or methods..
So we are not meant to be ignorant or unfamiliar with Satans methods..
Because sometimes he employs those methods and if we are unaware we struggle.
so Today let me boldly state that we are going to end this meeting, this sunday service with Freedom in the house.
I will declare right now that there is FREEDOM in the house.
There is freedom in the house because the one who gives that freedom is here
and has this word for me to give you now.
First of all i want to read
Acts10:38 - 38 And you know that God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. Then Jesus went around doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.
Satan is oppressor, the protagonist the adversary.
Not your family, not the other church members but The devil.
Let me read to you The verse That I heard.
It should be familiar because its one we ended with at the revival.
During this particular synagogue service Jesus asks for the scroll and unrolls it to a very specific passage of scripture.
It was not accidental, It was divinely intentioned.
that moment had been planned from the beginning of eternity that Jesus would stand on this occasion and would take the passage out of . and would apply it to the very moment He was launching His ministry.
To drive home that point a little more: God uses the natural to do the supernatural. Jewish tradition of the time tells us that each Synagogue had a yearly schedule For the torah reading day that he was to read a passage.
I’m gonna read what Luke tells us about this.
Luke4:-16-19 16 When he came to the village of Nazareth, his boyhood home, he went as usual to the synagogue on the Sabbath and stood up to read the Scriptures. 17 The scroll of Isaiah the prophet was handed to him. He unrolled the scroll and found the place where this was written:
18 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me,
for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released,
that the blind will see,
that the oppressed will be set free,
19 and that the time of the Lord’s favor has come.”
Luke4:-16-19 16 When he came to the village of Nazareth, his boyhood home, he went as usual to the synagogue on the Sabbath and stood up to read the Scriptures.(As was custom) 17 The scroll of Isaiah the prophet was handed to him. He unrolled the scroll and found the place(that indicates to me that he was looking for a specific place) where this was written:
18 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me,
for he has anointed me to bring Good News (then he describes those who he is going to preach the good news to) to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released,
that the blind will see,
(And this is the part that stood out to me)
that the oppressed will be set free,
19 and that the time of the Lord’s favor has come.”
To release the oppressed
When Isaiah prophecy these words there is one category that Luke does not say Jesus included which were the brokenhearted but perhaps he did say it.
The poor and the blind and brokenhearted and the prisoner and the oppressed in isaiahs day had to do with those that were going into captivity.
And he described their state of hopelessness of Judgements of oppression on the part of those who were being used by God to bring Judgement on the Nation
But Jesus is going to take that prophecy further Than Isaiahs focus in that He’s going to apply it to the day of his ministry. To Release the oppressed.
Amp: to send forth as delivered those who are oppressed (Who are downtrodden, bruised, crushed, and broken down by calamity)
Msg To set the burdened and battered free,
another translation says: That the downtrodden will be freed from their oppressors
Isa prophecy about the deliverance of a nation
but Jesus prophecy about the deliverance from sin and from the bondage of the devil.
As a matter of fact let me read one other verse in isa 53:7 That tells us that Jesus understand oppression. Of all the things that Isa said He would suffer vs. 7 says 7 He was oppressed
Do you remember Jesus saying in the Garden to the disciples that "this is the Hour of the power of darkness” Satan cometh unto me but he has nothing in me.
Because Satan was oppressing Jesus in that hour of His arrest...
Church He understand what its like to be oppressed
As I said at the beginning of the introduction I want to speak on 3 things for a moment and I want to prepare you for what God is going to do for you today
1. Exposing the enemy strategy to oppress you
Something that grabbed my spirit to tell you is that so very many People are living their lives and the don’t realize they are under oppression.
Im not talking about bad people and I’m not talking about people who are trying to rebel against God.
I’m talking about everyday christians that the enemy has begun to oppress in someway.
I may not touch on every way exactly or the way he’s oppressing you exactly
But I’m praying that the Holy Spirit wakes us up to realize that we may be living under a state of oppression that is not what God wants for you
and he’s going to get us out of it this morning.
The state of oppression,
one of the sources The enemy uses is that he knows our personal weakness.
He understands our vulnerability.
He knows them and thats how he so easily tempts us.
He knows the people that we struggle with.
He knows the situations that wear us out and want to make us quit.
especially when we’re growing and involved in the work of the Lord.
So he knows our personal weaknesses, he knows our areas of temptation, he knows our vulnerability
and he exploits those weaknesses
then we get down, things aren’t going as well as we want them to and discouraged and we pre-judge ourselves.
Somebody sitting next to you or someone across town has a bigger better career than you
and the devil start to whisper to you he starts to hint to you
that you re not really a good business person or parent or student…you’re not really a good enough christian , you re not really the person that you claim to be
and we begin to feel this oppression from the enemy and he begins to exploit that in our lives
and get this
he starts to distort our viewpoint.
He gets us to looking at the things we’re convinced WON’T happen,
He begins to show us the things that won’t change
We get our focus on the people that are the problem (Have you ever had any problem people?)
He know how to get you to a place where you want to pitch in the towel
and you say i just don’t know if i want to do this anymore
He strikes in our vulnerable moments
Its when we’re tired and we’re discouraged and we’ve gotten a little push back from someone
and somebody has criticized you, you’re spouse, you’re family you’re ministry
and after a while you say i don’t know if i want to do this Christian, righteous life anymore
See he Doesn’t let you focus on the people that are being touched by the power of God or focus on all the people you’re helping……He gets you focused on things that discourage you.
illus:
Fall Fest last year was going to be the biggest year we had ever had. We worked hard and sent out invites and the first comment i got leading to fall fest was a letter under my door.
It was discouraging, but see he knows just how to begin to undermine your faith in God
He distorts our ability to hear what God says and instead we begin to hear what the devil says
he begins to accuse…because he’s the accuser of the brethren.
The word accuser in the greek is categor
and its from this word that we get the word category.
to put it plainly he wants to tell youre in rank and file of those who will never succeed.
to the alcoholic he says you’ll always be an alcoholic and you’ll never overcome.
and i came to tell you the blood of Jesus abolishes any category the enemy will ever try to put you in
We serve a great big god with no limitations.
unfortunately we all too often are caught up in the oppression without realizing it.
he can oppress thru family, thru friends, thru that person at church that stirs up gossip about you.
if he can exploit theses areas of weakness we can end up developing unhealthy coping mechanisms
just to keep going gotta have a little this or that..
instead of abiding in Christ
The application point of this message today is that we are going to expose the work of the enemy in our lives and walk in freedom.
just one more moment on this point
the symptoms of oppression
He distorts out ability to believe God. He distorts our ability To act in faith . He distorts our viewpoint so we see the worst instead of the possibilities
we forget what God can do we forget how great our God is
he magnifies the problems
we start listening to the accusers lies instead of the spirits promises
Isolates us from others . we start thinking nobody cares for me.
If we listen long enough and he begins to distance us from God, feeling that our prayers can’t get through
We get dissatisfied with our results, what we do etc.
We begin to do what paul tells us not to do and we start to compare ourselves to others.
and we judge ourselves.
He is opposing you because His job is to oppose the work of God.
i may not have touched on exactly your struggle but whatever it is
Your day of release has come
2. Embracing Gods freedom from your oppression.
Freedom is in the house,
The lion of the tribe of Judah has prevailed … There is a lion who roams the earth looking whom he may devour but there is a lion on his trail that has prevailed
None of his schemes can succeed when you and I learn to abide in the presence of the Lord
So What is the remedy and the victory for this oppression
The anointing of the Holy Spirit.
Its the abiding ,
The Anointing is greater than your captivity.
Peter was in prison and he found out that Jesus is greater than the prison because the Lord open the door and the angel Lord open the door and said why are you sitting in prison get out of here.
You gotta get your viewpoint back on the things of God.
I don’t care what is oppressing you I’m telling you the yoke destroying anointing has come for you
The anointing destroys the yoke.
What held you back before and what holding you back today is not going to hold you back any longer
Music…..Jalen
I feel this on me too.
That which once held you back before , that which is holding you back today is not gonna hold you back any longer
I want you to hear the next word I’m gonna say
Now
Now
Now
This is not a word for 2 weeks down the road it’s for now
In this room, at this moment, this word is for an abiding anointing that destroys the oppression over you now
He is lord now, you don’t have to live under this one more minute.
You been just begging for hope and I came with a word that hope is now
Begin to pray now and receive it now
If you would say I need to take into this Freedom I want you to raise your hand now
God going to change your point of view, its been so negative and so hemmed
Like a minnow thats going to run out of water to swim in or sparrow that going to run out of sky to fly in
Oppression makes you doubt
1 Those who live in the shelter of the Most High
will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
2 This I declare about the Lord:
He alone is my refuge, my place of safety;
he is my God, and I trust him.
3 For he will rescue you from every trap
and protect you from deadly disease.
4 He will cover you with his feathers.
He will shelter you with his wings.
His faithful promises are your armor and protection.
5 Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night,
nor the arrow that flies in the day.
6 Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness,
nor the disaster that strikes at midday.
7 Though a thousand fall at your side,
though ten thousand are dying around you,
these evils will not touch you.
Do not doubt in the darkness what God says in the light
Where the spirit of the Lord is there is freedom. The anointing is a chain breaking prison freeing anointing
Can we agree to start saying what God say.
Get ready for God to do more
3. Encountering the Plus Ultra God in your Future
Plus ultra....Middle Ages Latin on maps = non terrae plus ultra....then took off non amd left plus ultra meaning there is more beyond.
That phrase Plus ultra permeates Spanish society today
It was on the insignia of the Holy Roman emperor at that time
and is on the flag of spain
the special forces of Spain today is called the Plus Ultra Forces
There is more beyond
The Devi’s trying to write on your life Non plus ultra
but the HS is gonna write plus ultra.
Do you thing you’ve arrived at the max of what God can do with you
Lets be like Caleb as say give me my mountain
He oppresses you because he can see what god can do for you.
So He tries to get you discouraged like he did peter
Jesus told peter the enemy is coming after you
he wants to sift you as sheet but peter I’ve prayed for you that your faith will not fail
he did fail and it was devastating moment
during trial he denied and then locked eyes with jesus how do you think he felt...
bible says he wept bitterly
Jesus and Peter walking after resurrection.
he asked peter 3times
Peters real question wasn’t do I love Jesus but does Jesus still love me.
The attacked peter because he saw what he could do.
its peter that preached on the day on pentecost, that went to Cornelius’ house
God hasn’t called you to just barely make it through
which your small resources remember you server a big god
