Plus Ultra God
FC 2019 Crockett
Dr. Claunch
Lord has been speaking to me about the word Oppression
And He took me to
plus one other verse I’m gonna read.
i will explain this more towards the end of the message but I
Want to speak on The Plus Ultra God in your future.
there are 3 things that I’m going to talk on today that the Holy Spirit has for you and has called me to preach and its definitely not one of the easiest messages to preach as we learn to and begin to unmask the enemy’s strategy.
but I’m telling you here today God wants to unmask the enemy’s strategy so that He may pour in freedom and get you where He wants you to be.
Paul Said in 2 Corin 2: 11[=-.
11 so that Satan will not outsmart us.
For we are familiar with his evil schemes.
Another translation says For we are not ignorant of his devices.
The greek word there for devices is Methodon(Meth-o-dia) or methods..
So we are not meant to be ignorant or unfamiliar with Satans methods..
Because sometimes he employs those methods and if we are unaware we struggle.
so Today let me boldly state that we are going to end this meeting, this sunday service with Freedom in the house.
I will declare right now that there is FREEDOM in the house.
There is freedom in the house because the one who gives that freedom is here
and has this word for me to give you now.
First of all i want to read
Acts10:38 - 38 And you know that God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power.
Then Jesus went around doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.
Satan is oppressor, the protagonist the adversary.
Not your family, not the other church members but The devil.
Let me read to you The verse That I heard.
It should be familiar because its one we ended with at the revival.
During this particular synagogue service Jesus asks for the scroll and unrolls it to a very specific passage of scripture.
It was not accidental, It was divinely intentioned.
that moment had been planned from the beginning of eternity that Jesus would stand on this occasion and would take the passage out of .
and would apply it to the very moment He was launching His ministry.
To drive home that point a little more: God uses the natural to do the supernatural.
Jewish tradition of the time tells us that each Synagogue had a yearly schedule For the torah reading day that he was to read a passage.
I’m gonna read what Luke tells us about this.
Luke4:-16-19 16 When he came to the village of Nazareth, his boyhood home, he went as usual to the synagogue on the Sabbath and stood up to read the Scriptures.
17 The scroll of Isaiah the prophet was handed to him.
He unrolled the scroll and found the place where this was written:
18 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me,
for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released,
that the blind will see,
that the oppressed will be set free,
19 and that the time of the Lord’s favor has come.”
Luke4:-16-19 16 When he came to the village of Nazareth, his boyhood home, he went as usual to the synagogue on the Sabbath and stood up to read the Scriptures.(As was custom) 17 The scroll of Isaiah the prophet was handed to him.
He unrolled the scroll and found the place(that indicates to me that he was looking for a specific place) where this was written:
18 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me,
for he has anointed me to bring Good News (then he describes those who he is going to preach the good news to) to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released,
that the blind will see,
(And this is the part that stood out to me)
that the oppressed will be set free,
19 and that the time of the Lord’s favor has come.”
To release the oppressed
When Isaiah prophecy these words there is one category that Luke does not say Jesus included which were the brokenhearted but perhaps he did say it.
The poor and the blind and brokenhearted and the prisoner and the oppressed in isaiahs day had to do with those that were going into captivity.
And he described their state of hopelessness of Judgements of oppression on the part of those who were being used by God to bring Judgement on the Nation
But Jesus is going to take that prophecy further Than Isaiahs focus in that He’s going to apply it to the day of his ministry.
To Release the oppressed.
Amp: to send forth as delivered those who are oppressed (Who are downtrodden, bruised, crushed, and broken down by calamity)
Msg To set the burdened and battered free,
another translation says: That the downtrodden will be freed from their oppressors
Isa prophecy about the deliverance of a nation
but Jesus prophecy about the deliverance from sin and from the bondage of the devil.
As a matter of fact let me read one other verse in isa 53:7 That tells us that Jesus understand oppression.
Of all the things that Isa said He would suffer vs. 7 says 7 He was oppressed
Do you remember Jesus saying in the Garden to the disciples that "this is the Hour of the power of darkness” Satan cometh unto me but he has nothing in me.
Because Satan was oppressing Jesus in that hour of His arrest...
Church He understand what its like to be oppressed
As I said at the beginning of the introduction I want to speak on 3 things for a moment and I want to prepare you for what God is going to do for you today
1.
Exposing the enemy strategy to oppress you
Something that grabbed my spirit to tell you is that so very many People are living their lives and the don’t realize they are under oppression.
Im not talking about bad people and I’m not talking about people who are trying to rebel against God.
I’m talking about everyday christians that the enemy has begun to oppress in someway.
I may not touch on every way exactly or the way he’s oppressing you exactly
But I’m praying that the Holy Spirit wakes us up to realize that we may be living under a state of oppression that is not what God wants for you
and he’s going to get us out of it this morning.
The state of oppression,
one of the sources The enemy uses is that he knows our personal weakness.
He understands our vulnerability.
He knows them and thats how he so easily tempts us.
He knows the people that we struggle with.
He knows the situations that wear us out and want to make us quit.
especially when we’re growing and involved in the work of the Lord.
So he knows our personal weaknesses, he knows our areas of temptation, he knows our vulnerability
and he exploits those weaknesses
then we get down, things aren’t going as well as we want them to and discouraged and we pre-judge ourselves.
Somebody sitting next to you or someone across town has a bigger better career than you
and the devil start to whisper to you he starts to hint to you
that you re not really a good business person or parent or student…you’re not really a good enough christian , you re not really the person that you claim to be
and we begin to feel this oppression from the enemy and he begins to exploit that in our lives
and get this
he starts to distort our viewpoint.
He gets us to looking at the things we’re convinced WON’T happen,
He begins to show us the things that won’t change
We get our focus on the people that are the problem (Have you ever had any problem people?)
He know how to get you to a place where you want to pitch in the towel
and you say i just don’t know if i want to do this anymore
He strikes in our vulnerable moments
Its when we’re tired and we’re discouraged and we’ve gotten a little push back from someone
