No room for hash treatment, no room for arrogance.
This is because of their own humanity
they are frail as well.
Every sacrifice reminded them of their own sin.
Called of God
God called them into service
AP: As Priests, we have the same qualificaitons:
We are called by God
God called us to salvation and service
The Bible often uses the term, “chosen” for us.
John 6:
We can sympathize
We are humans
We struggle with sin
We grow tired
We are ill
God uses fallible and frail humans to share His love and message to the world
We can relate
We needed rescue
We found help
Now we can share that good news with others.
Christ’s Eternal Priesthood

Sympathizes with us
He took on flesh so He knows our weakness
The miracle of the incarnation was necessary not just to die for our sins, he also needed to take on flesh to fully be able to identify with humanity.
Remember
He doesn’t know what it is to sin, but He knows the price it takes to pay for sin!
Heb 4
He knows all other things about the human experience
He knows what we go through
Appointed by God
God the Father assigned/appointed Him as priest forever.
In role, He submitted to God the Father
His priesthood is valid because God appointed Him to be priest.
He isn’t a Levitical priest since Jesus is of the tribe of Judah, not Levi.
Levitical priesthood is hereditary
He is a priest of the order of Melchizadeck
King and priest of Salem during Abraham’s life
