When Jesus was transfigured, his disciples saw him for who he really was, and for a few moments heaven and earth collided. We experience little culture clashes and world collisions in our own lives, and the experience is usually uncomfortable. Jesus' transfiguration was terrifying to his disciples, but it also opened their eyes to understand the significance of what would happen next to Jesus. His death wasn't just a sad but common experience of a person dying: they knew he was God, and his death was earth-shattering. And his resurrection, while extraordinary, could somehow be possible because they knew Jesus was God! Now, we as Christians have this understanding as well. And it helps us through the collisions in our own lives. Are you accepting - receiving with JOY - the challenge and opportunity to help others through their own collisions by sharing the news about Jesus?
