The Prophet
-The office of the Prophet was to be the messenger of God.
He was to prophecy.
-*The purpose* of prophecy was to communicate the message of God.
1.      Foretelling  - Telling of Future Events.
2.      Forth telling - Telling of what God has already made clear in his word.

*For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost*

1.      Man can’t force God’s hand and make Him say something he wants him to.
This would make us a false prophet of the home.

You use the scriptures to say something that backs what you want.

We are tempted as men to do this.
