THE CHALLENGE: Write down a resolution like in the areas below that you know to be God’s will for your life this year. Find a Scripture that you can memorize and recite when tempted to give up on this resolve. Prayerfully review at the end of each week.

1. Daily Reading God’s Word:

By God’s grace, this year I plan and resolve to: ______________________________________________________________________.

4. Contentment in the Lord / Despair

Psalm 42:11 ESV

5. Self-Control: Physical, Behavioral, Spiritual

Prov 25:28

A man without self-control is like a city broken into and left without walls.

When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with the humble is wisdom.

7. Generosity/Greed/Consumerism

Ephesians 4:28
Matthew 6:25-33
Deuteronomy 15:11

8. Purity of Heart / Distracted and Defiled Heart:

As a man thinks, so he is. Focus on the good! Phil 4:8-9
Philippians 4:8–9 ESV
Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.
Psalm 51:10

Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.

9. Sexual Purity / Lust

1 Thess 4:3-5
1 Thessalonians 4:3–5 ESV
For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from sexual immorality; that each one of you know how to control his own body in holiness and honor, not in the passion of lust like the Gentiles who do not know God;

10. Up-build-er, Encourage-er / Anger

Colossians 3:13
Romans 12:18-21

12. Today’s vs. Tomorrow’s Worry/Anxiety

Matthew 6:34

“Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

Whatever you resolve:
“Being sensible that I am unable to do anything without God’s help, I do humbly entreat him by his grace to enable me to keep these Resolutions, so far as they are agreeable to his will, for Christ’s sake. Remember to read over these Resolutions once a week.” - Jonathan Edwards
