Hesitation

Genesis 19:1-16

Prayer

Father we are gathered here today to hear your word. Speak to us today this afternoon. Bless our souls. May our hearts be open and receptive to your word. May you set us free God. We want to be set free. Set us free. we need that freedom, and we need that peace that only you can give. Amen.

Im not sure if many of you know this but I used to play basketball. Ive play with Brian a few times and that kid can play! Anyways i remember in my middle school days i was actually on the basketball team. I was a wildcat! Outside of school i was a great player. I could beat pretty much anyone on my team. But when it came time for the games! ohhhh God i scored 8 points all season! i was terrible! the pressure of being in from of a crowd and playing on a team and against other schools was alot for me. i was probly one of the worst on the team ! Everytime the ball landed in my hand i could feel my heart racing. time would move in slow motion. And everytime i look back at the middle school memories all i have is regret. the ball was in my hands and all i could do was hesitate. should i shoot? what if i miss? what if i cantg make the shot. i should pass the ball. it would be better if i wasnt playing right now. this fear wuiold come over me. this hesitation.
