Introduction
In Abel we see the way of faith.
In Enoch we see the walk of faith.
Enoch pleased God!
If we please God, it does not matter who we displease.
And if we displease God it does not matter who we please.
The way to please God is to walk by faith.
To walk by faith is to walk with God.
And to walk with God means to have an intimate relationship with Him.
How can we walk the walk of faith?

The Walk of Faith begins with Grace.
(Genesis 5:21-24)

Enoch’s walk was prompted by fear (5:21-22)
The sobering nature of Methuselah’s birth (5:21)
Ø      Our children should cause us to be more serious about our walk.
The prophetic nature of Methuselah’s name (5:22)
Methuselah = it shall be when he is dead
Ø      Methuselah was a living prophecy of the coming flood.
Ø      When Methuselah died the flood came!
Judgment is coming to our world
*Matthew 24:37 *"For the coming of the Son of Man will be just like the days of Noah.
Ø      God is merciful but judgment is sure!

Enoch’s walk was produced by faith
Fear is not enough – we must also have faith (Hebrews 11:5)
Faith is believing in God and believing God.
*Romans 10:17 *So faith /comes /from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.
Ø      Somehow, some way, someday God came to Enoch and called Enoch to Himself.

The Walk of Faith Will Continue to Grow.  (Philippians 3:7-11)
Four places we must follow Christ if we are to walk with Him…

To the Upper Room to develop a servant’s heart (John 13:3-5)
When we love, listen, and lay down our lives for others we are washing their feet.
The call to be a Christian is a call to minister and the call to minister is a call to wash feet.
2B.
To the Garden of Gethsemane to develop a surrendered heart (Matthew 26:36-39)
Jesus felt the pressure of the cross and the sin he would bear.
The will of God is good, perfect, acceptable, and eternal but it is not painless.
Ø      We must surrender daily!
Ø      God had one Son without sin, but He has no sons without suffering.

To Golgotha to gain a sacrificial heart
Positionally we have already been to the cross.
(Galatians 2:20)
Practically we must go to the cross daily.

Ø      It is only when we die to sin and self that Christ’s life can be seen through us.

To the Empty Tomb to find a supernatural heart
In the empty tomb, we find the power to overcome the obstacles of this life!

He went to heaven without warning.
He went to heaven without waiting.
