After it has just been noted that the disciples had hard hearts in chapter 6 after Jesus walked on the water.

The disciples were in the same boat as Jesus and their hearts were hard.
The inside was pretty messed up.
Maybe we need to worry less about the current state of America and more about the current state of our hearts.
