We are all sinners by nature and by choice
We are all sinners by nature and by choice
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
We receive eternal life as a free gift!
We receive eternal life as a free gift!
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
God demonstrated his love for us, his enemies
God demonstrated his love for us, his enemies
but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
We must trust and surrender to Jesus as Lord
We must trust and surrender to Jesus as Lord
because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.
The Sinner prayer:
The Sinner prayer:
Dear God, I know I am a sinner. I know my sin deserves to be punished. I believe Christ is the Son of God, who died for me and rose from the grave. I want to turn from my sin and trust Jesus Christ alone as my Saviour. Thank you for the forgiveness and everlasting life I can now have through faith in Jesus. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Our assurance of Salvation through Jesus
Our assurance of Salvation through Jesus
For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

Repent of your sins:
Repent of your sins:
since all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God;
And continue in righteous works all your life:
And continue in righteous works all your life:
For he will repay according to each one’s deeds:
Because God only justifies those who keep His Commandments:
Because God only justifies those who keep His Commandments:
For it is not the hearers of the law who are righteous in God’s sight, but the doers of the law who will be justified.
And have faith and believe His promises:
And have faith and believe His promises:
24 they are now justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, 25 whom God put forward as a sacrifice of atonement by his blood, effective through faith. He did this to show his righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over the sins previously committed; 26 it was to prove at the present time that he himself is righteous and that he justifies the one who has faith in Jesus.
like Abraham, believed His promises:
like Abraham, believed His promises:
20 No distrust made him waver concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong in his faith as he gave glory to God, 21 being fully convinced that God was able to do what he had promised. 22 Therefore his faith “was reckoned to him as righteousness.”
And believing His promises, He will give you His grace, in Baptism:
And believing His promises, He will give you His grace, in Baptism:
3 Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4 Therefore we have been buried with him by baptism into death, so that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life.
Where we are born again to new life.
Where we are born again to new life.
For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his.
And being born again, we walk after the Spirit:
And being born again, we walk after the Spirit:
so that the just requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.
And accept suffering as children of God:
And accept suffering as children of God:
and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him.
And continue in love and good works:
And continue in love and good works:
8 Owe no one anything, except to love each other, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law. 9 For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery, You shall not murder, You shall not steal, You shall not covet,” and any other commandment, are summed up in this word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” 10 Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.
11 Besides this you know the time, that the hour has come for you to wake from sleep. For salvation is nearer to us now than when we first believed.
And do all things unto the Lord:
And do all things unto the Lord:
If we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord; so then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord’s.
I think both roads are guilty of taking Paul out of context, but it is an interesting point to make about what you can achieve with a text if you take it out of context.
