The Evangelical Roman Road
We are all sinners by nature and by choice
We receive eternal life as a free gift!
God demonstrated his love for us, his enemies
We must trust and surrender to Jesus as Lord
The Sinner prayer:
Dear God, I know I am a sinner.
I know my sin deserves to be punished.
I believe Christ is the Son of God, who died for me and rose from the grave.
I want to turn from my sin and trust Jesus Christ alone as my Saviour.
Thank you for the forgiveness and everlasting life I can now have through faith in Jesus.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Our assurance of Salvation through Jesus
The True Roman Road
Repent of your sins:
And continue in righteous works all your life:
Because God only justifies those who keep His Commandments:
And have faith and believe His promises:
like Abraham, believed His promises:
And believing His promises, He will give you His grace, in Baptism:
Where we are born again to new life.
And being born again, we walk after the Spirit:
And accept suffering as children of God:
And continue in love and good works:
And do all things unto the Lord:
I think both roads are guilty of taking Paul out of context, but it is an interesting point to make about what you can achieve with a text if you take it out of context.
