When you hear shepherd the flock, the first person you think of the Pastor.
Now a little Bible Trivia.
Did you know the word “Pastor” only appears once in the Bible but its under the King James Version

Elders, Overseers, and Shepherds.
In this scripture he talks about the Shepherd the Flock of God.
The shepherd’s job was to keep the flock intact, protect it from predators, and guide it to market areas for shearing.
The Pastor’s job is to keep the flock accountable , protect you from Satan, and guide you through the Word.
This scripture shows I have rules as a Pastor right, it correlates with

Now you know I am younger than I would say 80% in here.
But what this scripture is in reference to is a new believer.
Listen to your elders.
OK so in our congregation we are filled with elders, nothing wrong with that.
But this is elders in age.
Elders are also referred to as years of being in the Word.
You wouldn’t put a new Christian up on the pulpit to teach.
I did not get here alone.
I had mentors that helped me get to where I’m at and I am thankful for them every day.
But they were wise in the Word and helped me with navigating through scripture.
The number one person that helped in this place was my father.
Humble - having or showing a modest or low estimate of one’s own importance.
In his last days, I have a feeling he knew.
He knew before my mother, brothers and sister and I knew.
But during that time his faith didn’t waiver.
He knew where he was going and he didn’t worry because he knew God has his family.
He suffered only a little bit, but when he went to heaven, he was restored, confirmed, strengthened, and established by our Lord Savior Jesus Christ.
We need to stand firm in our faith.

We stand firm on the Word of God.
This church suffered in 2020.
But in 2021, First Southern Baptist Church is restoring the legacy of sharing the word to the community of Pahrump, we Strengthening in numbers, and God is establishing us to carry out His Will.
