As we finish the book of Revelation, we are reminded of the destiny of the pohysical universe
Chapter 21 begins following the 1000 year reign of Christ
Man has been judged, Sin and death put away and the new order is begining!
Notice that there will be no escape on that day!
Do not deceive yourself into thinking that there will be any exemptions given on that day!
The believers in Christ who have hidden their lives in Him will not be judged for their sin!
That was done on the cross of Jesus Christ and is freely given to those who desire to be right and repent of their sins
The believer’s works however will be tested
So now A vision of the future
I fulfilment of Peter’s prophecy, the physical universe will be destroyed
A new city - Jerusalem the old has pasted away never to be remembered anymore!
The place will be the very dwelling place of God!
No one knows exactly what life or existence will be like - we discussed this previously.
It is clear however that it will be able to sustain the presence of God and our new bodies will be able to be there with Him!
Emmanuel - Gos with us, a fulfilment of the prophecies of Isaiah
Sounds almost too good to be true!
So we see only a glimpse of this in our own salvation experience
Once again we see God confirming His word and promice Himself!
Now the proclamation of the lamb
What a great offer!
Man is thirsting for fulfilment and looking in all the wrong places!
The answer to the relentless pursuit of purpose and fulfilment can only be found in Christ
It isn’t rocket science!
It is a natural outcome of your relationship with Him and His transformational power in your life!
Remember that the ultimate prize is Him!
Warning!
Now a description of the New Jerusalem
A representation of the OT and NT people! - the size we discussed prior about 1400 Miles cubed!
John now tells us more - there is a wall
In the next verses he names the precious stones that make up this wall
About 2oo feet high and interestingly the street!
I believe that God is telling us that that which man seeks to own and control is nothing but asphalt and bricks in heaven!
It is because we have the real prize…Himself, no emptiness to fill!
We should learn that lesson now as we live in this place, He is the real prize and He has taken holds of us!
The conditions of the city
There will be no need for God to be hidden from man for He himself will be the light of life!
The Shekinah glory of the Lord shall be it’s light!
But again a warning to the wicked and unrepentant
What are you waiting for today?
