The time has come for the Messiah, Immanuel, the Son of God, Jesus.
When His birth would come, and it was time for the announcement, it would be Shepard that were watching over their flock that would be the first to see Him, and the first to share about Jesus.
God isn’t imp pressed with people of power and money, or fame.
He using people who love Him.
That is why He chose Mary to be His mother.
And to be to one who would raise Him.
Both Mary and Joseph belonged to the house of David

“Betrothed” KJV espoused
It was equivalent to marriage, but did not live together.
Mary It is pregnant, conceived but the Holy Spirit.
With Mary being pregnant, and Joseph knowing it was not his child, and not know the whole story, had to hard decision to make.
If had commited adultery, she could have be stoned to death, or punished in some way, publicly humiliated.
Or he could have gone to her parents and divorced her.
