We believe that one baptism is sufficient.

—> I was baptized when I was 18, and I still don’t have a clear memory of it.
I do remember my brother’s baptism which was the first baptism I preformed 4 or 5 years later.
—> I remember the baptisms I preformed at Gladewater.
—> And I long for the day I can celebrate that sacred moment here at Longview FUMC.
—> But at the end of the day the reality is, baptism is not about simply getting wet.
—> The outward act isn’t as important as the inward commitment

—> the baptism that John offers was a way to prepare people for Jesus
—> The Jewish people had been “baptizing” people since the institution of the Law of Moses.
