I'm sorry world.

Amen.

Bank wire.

No, I want you to know that I was listening to that song but I was distracted by the smiley face is on the front of it.

Not to wear a mask while you're sick of it.

That's right.

If you have your Bibles this morning, open up to the Book of Jonah chapter 4, where you can grab a Bible, out of the few there. I pray that you bring your Bible with you that your that your vital becomes your best friend. It's amazing how when you get a Bible, that's written. And you started reading it, how it becomes a really good friend and it becomes a person per se that measure out about doing things or you want to share a story with somebody or course. I've heard this to where you sent me the pastor, just talked about this this weekend, and you open it up and it's already highlighted or he spoke on that subject. So you can share with what sometimes the pastor about. The, my prayer is that you have a Bible and you bring it with you in a few becomes your best friend. Because I believe in my heart that God has given us his word, so that we would know how to grow and how to mature in the face. And so that we could learn lessons about who God is. And that's why I say understand in God. Because if you look at the story and Ramona, is it really so much a story about Jonah? For about Jonah's, understanding of who God is.

It's kind of both isn't it? You know, you see this guy, Jonah, who is let's say for all practical purposes. He is racist. He doesn't like them in a box. He doesn't want to see the MB turn to God. He is against those evil evil Wicked people but yet he's a prophet of God to sometimes a prophet of God has to do things better.

Not pleasant, but they have to do it because they stand before a holy God. Amen. And I I say all that because Jonah goes to a series of the event and not once did God ever leave Jonah. Amen. God is ever-present in this story and you understand that you probably after it happened as a as a Memento, if you will have it. This is what transpired. So he wrote this down how God interacted in his life. And for those who missed the first few weeks and I'm glad that you're here, if you're visiting with us, but for those R Choda has been here while you know, I've talked about this with Rick Africa.

Yo. Angela says, no. Okay. That's not something to be proud of. That's just how it is. Says go. And don't know what we do. Sometimes God wants you to do something to do something to eat. What you doing? And you say no. That's you got the wrong person. You do my daily devotion. I was reading about a guy named Moses in the Old Testament. And how God wanted Moses to be used by God and to interact with payroll and yet Moses to come up there. The world. Why was it him? If I know. It's all right. I'm slow to speak. Somebody else and God allowed him to have.

And sometimes, when God tells us to do something, we want to run from God. It's a natural thing to do when we like to admit it or not. We do run from God. We don't maybe physically right from God, put me seem to not be following the will of God because we feel like we know better about our life than God. That's right. But yet God knows better about anything, whether it be your life, this church other churches, our nation. Those kind of things. And no matter how hard you going around from God, God constantly for soup Jonah. That's how bad it is for each and everyone of us. I can probably go around the room. I won't do it cuz it embarrassed some people but I'll probably go around the room and ask for you to share. How did God come after you? And how did God get you to see that? You need a life with him? We all understand hopefully that we have this big hole in our heart that outside of God. Nobody could feel this whole, you can try. But nobody can fill this hole. It's called it's called. God God knows to come in and take residence in your life that you can try to fill it with stuff. You can try to fill with money. You can access you can try to feel good. Look, I felt in that kind of work, by the way.

How come it is at the end of a life of someone they look back and he said, you know, I try to fill my happiness with all these things. But really I was still really unhappy that hole in your heart is as God wanting to fill that hole in your heart. Only. God can fill that place. You see Jonah became fish food for a while. Remember the big fish wild him. He was in the fish for three days and three nights. Didn't digest very well with the big fish and God commanded to Big Fish. Vomited Jonah up on dry land. And then Jonah, by the way. Jonah while he was in the belly of the fish fried out to God with his holy Temple. He said, I will follow you. How many of us have?

Follow you. Only then a couple weeks later the month later, you end up going back to what you were doing. It's like those conditional things, but then you find something else to take your attention away from God. God wants us to amen, you know, if we would get discharged. Wood Mall be in a situation to life for your life and God just use me. Free. Now, whatever ugliness is in my life.

What workers are you on?

I understand.

And we've already had it, maybe a few.

They're not comfortable decisions decisions.

Imagine for a second that we just follow the will of God.

That we let God take control of what he wants his church become that Jonah comes to a near-death experience. He asked God for deliverance. But like I said, big fish on the ground and around Jonah. As you see in our story, Jonah goes, at the end of days. And know it'll be overturned. That's the sermon in a nutshell or the cliff notes of the sermon International. Have any other indication how long he spoke? He probably just said it. You can say nonchalantly, maybe 40 days. I don't care if you turn to God or not. You would think you would be 40 minutes. And God will return. What God said to me today, 40 days and got a return this nation.

Would you get on these Pride? I'll ask. Seek his face.

My people which are called by, my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face.

Would you pray for the nation? Or would you say give it to Lord their Disobedience there, which is they really need to go. But save yours. Sometimes we do that. Maybe it's just me. Maybe I do that. I'm trying to live without your eyes and I'm seeing all this stuff happened around me. And I'm like, Lord.

One day, one day is going to be accountable.

Help me to worry about me. Help me that the words that come out of my mouth will help you and encourage you and motivate you until God comes again.

Nineveh did the unthinkable?

How do we know that? Because they, they sat in sackcloth and Ashes. And it's not just I was sitting there and put it on. This goes in this very uncomfortable and sitting in ashes people did this during a time of National prices that did it during a time where they were

about how their Nation. If you come in the king. Set out a decree, says, okay. Let's stop the evil. Unless you got something interesting in chapter 3.

God, let us live. Maybe God will relent and God loves for 10 minutes. So God, we lifted that he was going to destroy the destroy never. A natural redhead.

We could put our name in that story. A hundred times. Very different reasons. Now. I know none of us have ever been in the belly of a fish. Write a note ever been in a sticky situation.

Very uncomfortable situation, a situation where only God gets out of that situation. If you try to do it, you mess it up.

God is a God who loves us, but we're going to find out if you want to chat for about God at jonahdills. I've got the weekend. Let's begin reading in 3:10 because there's a but I understand what you're saying, but about to the end and then comment on her study. John chapter 3 verse 10 sets in. Solder work and they turn from your evil ways and God repented of the evil and he had, but he said he would do to them. He did not do a chapter 4. Joe and his healing and he was very angry and he prayed to the Lord and said I pray view a lord was not this my same but I was yet in my country there for For, I knew that you. Reversible. And a great time. Of your ear.

Therefore now no Lord. Take tape, I beseech you my life worth from me for it is better for me to die that you've lived and send them the word. Do do you? Well, to be angry. So Jonah went out of the city and sat on the east side of the city and they're made him a booth and sat under it in the shadows until he met. What would be the city and the Lord God compared to a cord and maybe come up over drama and it might be a shadow over his head to deliver him from his brief sojourn. Other board the Godparent of worm when they won't win. The morning Rose, the next day, and it smoked and round, and it with her, and it came to pass when the sun did. Dr. Wednesdays wind and the sun beating. And he fainted and wished himself to die and says it is better for me to die than to live. And God said to Jonah, do you well to be angry? And he said I did well even to death then he said just did said the Lord you have, can you have had pity on the board for? The wisdom. You have not labored near made me Rubble which came up in a night and persisted in a night. And should I not wear spare none of that great City wearing, as more than its at 6 4000 person has 120,000 people. They cannot discern between the right hand and the left, and also look like a cabin. That's what the Lord in prayer asking God to bless our time. Heavenly father is being approached again your word. We want to be, honorable to were, we went to understand your word, but we want it also to be applicable to our life, helped us to see that obligation to our life. Today. We ask in Jesus name. Amen. So you see Jonah was very angry with God. Why was he angry with God? Because he said, it's almost like you didn't see Jonah's attitude. This story. It's almost like he's shaking his finger guards, that you are a gracious gods. And I knew that you would do this, therefore, I would to Tarsus and I wouldn't be total opposite direction. Here is a prophet of God decides. God, I knew you would do this and I don't want to scare those people. I don't like those people. Those people are not like me. I don't want those people in my church. I want those people around me.

But yeah, he knew we got to do if they turn the heart to God, don't already knew what his character that God is gracious and merciful, god is slow to anger. He's a funded and loving-kindness. I got to relent from doing harm and how it had also to that list. He's pitching.

Disney picture of each and everyone of us. Sometimes.

Is 7 a.m. Hard-headed sometimes, God has to be patient with me and patient with you patient us so that we can grow. And God never leaves us alone. Amen, God is forever. Involved in your life. Let me say that again. God is forever involved in your life. Not just because you're Jonah, not just the picture of property. God is intimately involved in each and every person's life here today. The I know there are some people here that belief that God is a god work for like a wind-up tool. They said I'm down to start walking. They feel like that's how God intervenes start this morning and let this go. But that's the wrong with the Ava. That's not the quality of the Bible. God is intimately involved in your life and my life and everybody's life in the life of the church in the life of the nation. You see that in scripture plenty of times. You seen our story to hear God's sovereignty over nature. Did you notice how many times in the story? You know, how God?

A really big storm. He could hold a big fish. That would swallow Jonah.

Dhaka by the plant, be prepared to plant you made The Plank Road. God made worm worm payment date the plan. And God compared to Eastwind. God is always involved in this story to tell us even with a disobedient person like me, God is still intimately involved in my life. Trying to get you to go the right direction. The right direction. Jonah. Maybe you bought that none of us deserve God's judgment, but that wasn't joins call. How many times have we in our lives? Felt one way about something and yet God was correcting another. Has there been a time in your life when you would have gone to move it one way and God has something different. And you found yourself a mad at God, only to find out with. One was the right thing. Think about it as yourself is something in your life or you wanted. Got to move a certain way and you didn't and you were mad at God couple heads up that you wanted to do so bad and yet God didn't do it. And you are mad. On Earth as it is in heaven.

I was mad at God.

My contract came to an end here in 2015. and, My coworkers are not real looking for jobs. And I was super happy cuz I was like, I'm leaving the gym. I want to leave today.

You know what? I'm doing. Okay, I was leaving. I thought, maybe my co-workers. You are the luckiest guy in the world because you can lie within you, you're not marrying, you can leave to go, but we have lice here. We have houses. We bought impact mortgage payments. They were all jealous of me because they thought I was more flexible in my lifestyle.

And we got it. Let me leave. I was mad at.

Cuz I want to leave, Virginia. What I didn't know. Was done with me to stay here. Amen. And I didn't know that.

Cuz she's in love with me and I didn't know.

You can ask her the story sometime.

For yourself any store and I'm not trying to glorify myself. I'm just trying to get to let you understand that there are times.

You're welcome.

I'm getting mad at God for what transpired and God says.

Amen, lovely wife has pray for me to stay here. And finally, after you told me she was in love with me a year, one year and one solid year. I had one too. Here I am here. I am pastor of the church in dispute disputanta today.

Are we in the angry with God? I found some used to go through this. Think it's God and ask God to show you the areas in your life where he is working in your life. Maybe you've been praying one way. McDonald's moving in a cup. Will you allow God to? Move you as he sees fit.

Notice in verses five through nine Jonah. Now becomes angry at planned. This is an interesting story, almost like an object lesson, and I know how much you guys love object lessons, cuz everytime I bring a toy or something in here.

My hat, the sketch I brought in the other day. But it's an object lesson and interesting about the Bible is the Bible. What do you know it or not is all about it.

You know, and Jesus talks about a course. Find. But here Jonah is mad at plant and we can all relate to a plant, grows up in a ball, like me, but he has some shake. And then all the sudden that son came down. Probably the roots of the plant and then the sun came down and made him. Make Jonah hot is going to have a gate code to the door repair, the shelter. I don't know why I didn't look up, shelter for his dad. But apparently he prepared his body and the plant.

But he is 120,000 people, but you can't tell the difference. Right. and God was with him and he said,

let me bring it down a little closer to our level. Are we more concerned for our own Creature Comforts? That we are the people outside the doors to the strip?

Are we more concerned about keeping this group happy? And not concerned about this group. That doesn't know that there is a sinner in need of saving. His name is Jesus Christ. It's easy for us to get comfortable. In a church is beautiful. Church was comfortable a church that heated. It's easy for us to be comfortable. Very easy. This kind of atmosphere, but we've got to get outside of our comfort zone and realize that we have people in our society and our nation and our cities and disputanta and Prince George. So you name it around here, Richmond home, builders need to hear about Jesus Christ. Hey, man, we need for them to hear about Jesus Christ because the day will come. when God's going to say, Enough's enough. Call Mom. Route to the church. You know, weeding out the tears and the weed and the scripture talks about. There comes a day when we're going to have to be able to count. How many times have we had an opportunity to witness to somebody? And we were more concerned about the fact that the lady was messing up with our border with our food, instead of realizing that maybe

Somebody would pray with, maybe she's dealing with a lot. How many times we went into a restaurant and thought to herself and it's just really bad service. I'm not going to leave her a tip. You don't know if she's going through. You don't know if she's got a phone call and she's trying to deal with with stuff. You know, we need to be that witness. I heard it said this way. You might be the only Jesus. Somebody ever see.

you know, I I love you guys. And I know that sounds silly. Somebody wants told me that thing. I love you to people. You don't know town still. But you know, I love you.

It's a little hard to love, but I love you.

I love you.

There's something I want you to know.

If I die.

This week and you never see me again. I want the last thing you heard out of my mouth to be. Amen. Isn't that what the Bible tells us to do to love the Lord? Our God with all our hearts.

Not so I can pick out start.

But are we love God and love?

Let's start trying to do that.

Marcia. I love you.

Good. I love you.

I know. It sounds weird. When I call you and I, hey, okay, I call you. Love you. Jerry. I love you, too.

Let me two times. Little heart. I love each and everyone of you. I'm having a fun there, but I do love each and every one. It's if it's not easy being a pastor or Shepherd. But I really do love you quotes, even if it sounds silly.

Some people who does. But we need to get back to loving. Not only the people that are here that agree with us, but people that don't agree. Bible says this way, what good is it? If I think you love people that love you, right? It's loving the people that don't love me and maybe they don't even agree with this. It don't even agree with the Bible. Our job to love them to try to bring them in the church, try to get them stayed so they can come under the good teaching of a bible-believing church.

Not be so concerned over a plan when we have plans up here or whether we have things in Play Store. Hold this is the sanctuary. So so dear that we don't want anybody for you. We need to realize a people's lives Town board and stuff. I believe in my heart that he would this church wasn't hearing it, burnt down to the ground and I will provide another building for hey, man, we need to stop thinking about this and start thinking about those. Our Ministries said we're going to talk about this afternoon, like willing workers and all the other Ministries. Be happier. Our focus should be on trying to bring people into the church, trying to assimilate them into our church. Have them become part of the body of Christ here in Bethlehem Congregational Church. That's what it what should be our mission. As you go through this week, ask God to show you how to get rid of those Creature Comforts and keep you from God. And from others, allow God to interrupt your schedule this week and allow yourself to think of others more than yourself and I couldn't help, but think about that, as I wrote that child's down, you know. I'm a Baptist. But Facebook for me is this is one of those things that that can take me away from God. Ask my wife, how many times I believe Facebook off my phone. 2030 times, I take it off for a while because I feel convicted that I spend too much time on Facebook 9 Minutes work and then I put it back on and I'm watching them strolling is easy to do, it's easy to do. But it's easier to take his word.

First thing in the morning, first thing at 4 late at night, three days work. You know, when you get to the end of your life, is not going to ask you how many hours?

How many, how many animals did you rescue from the Rescue Mission?

You know, what? Does God want us to really be a part of people's lives in such a way that we see them, bro. I mean,

And I have two in their, imagine somebody you environment.

Can you see them?

You can see the lights.

That's the are driving desire. Not just the words in the Bible says go. Ye therefore B Cycles. Spiritual life.

Have we walked away from that. Have been present. Just a few of us. We don't really want anybody else. We've got a bro, brothers and sisters. We? We?

You know, I listen to my sermon last week. And it felt like the sermon for me, it's as if the person that preacher I felt that was me against you. And I feel bad about that little friend remind me about that messages. Well, they kind of came off that way. But we're in this together. It's not me, you be against you, it's not me against. Tradition, not me against Bethlehem, grateful trip. We we are too.

I just happened to be the head coach of this team. Find a driver in the right direction. That sometimes that's very unpopular decisions have to be made. Other times, it's smooth sailing. But how about the fall? God will everything we do and then let's go to work, bro. We praise you and thank you for Find out more about you, but God Jonah. Admits that you are a gracious. Merciful. A loving God. Slow to anger. Full of abundance and loving kindness. And Lord help us to share that. Understanding guitar ahead of you with those outside the building. Help us to reach out Beyond Bethlehem. Beyond disputanta into other areas, the places that we live in places that we interact with. And I just pray, the Lord that you would intervene in such a way that would opportunity becomes available to a person in this church. Share Jesus. That they would share Jesus but they would pray with whoever did his prey with that. They would invite them to the church if they don't feel comfortable, maybe to get the words out at first. Invite them to church on Sunday. To be a part of a good Bible bleeding. and believe it, this is

We pray the Lord in the name of Jesus. Amen.
