The word “honor” literally means “to give weight.” To honor someone, then, is to give weight or to grant a person a position of respect and authority in your life (Evangelical Dictionary of Biblical Theology).
What is the actual command in Romans 12:10? What does it mean to “outdo one another?”
Philippians 2:3… To outdo one another in showing honor means to give more honor than we expect to receive.
Don’t just honor those who will repay you with greater status, position, or recognition.
Who should we honor?
We honor God (1 Tim 1:17).
We honor our parents (Eph 6:1-2).
We honor those who are weaker (1 Cor 12:22-23).
We honor those who are under our care (Matt 20:25-28).
We honor those in authority over us (Heb 13:17).
We honor the governing authorities (1 Pet 2:13-17).
How do we honor one another?

People learn character through imitation, and for that, we must mix the generations…
