Psalm 119:57-64
Throughout Psalm 119 we see an active dependence on God’s Word.
This active dependence is seen in this section of scripture in v. 57, 58, 61, 49, 64, 52, etc.
This Psalm is giving us hope in a few different ways in the midst of hard times...
Hope in God’s Word
v. 49 Remember your word to your servant, in which you have made me hope
v. 58 I entreat your favor with all my heart
Our hope is in God’s word alone.
What he promises and what He commands
God never gives us egregious commands
Hope in God’s Attributes
God’s love (v.
64)
God’s graciousness (v.
58)
God’s nearness (v.62)
At midnight!!!
The writer of Psalms focuses on God’s attributes to give him hope in the midst of hardship.
These attributes come from a thorough understanidng of God’s word
Hope in God’s Friends
- v. 63
Good friends push us towards a good God.
