When we look at the history of slavery in this country we tend to judge historical events by today’s standards.
Slavery based on racial grounds is bad.
So everyone that accepted slavery as we know it had to be bad.
If we don’t distance ourselves from that we are bad.
There were people in that south that were morally upright people.
How could they support the enslavement of an entire race of people?
They were ignorant.
Evil people spread the lie that the slaves were less than human.
That a black man’s life is not worth as much as a white man’s life.
How do you get a bunch of morally upright Germans to stand by and watch the slaughter of millions of Jews?
Evil people convinced them that the Jews are less than human.
That they were just animals and that their live’s were worth less than that of a non jews life.
How do you get morally upright people to believe that abortion is the mothers choice and that the is nothing wrong with it?
Evil people convince them that an unborn fetus is somehow worth less than that of a person that is outside the womb.
That he/or she is less than human until they are born.

Everyone sins so your sin isn’t that bad.

Other peoples sin is worse than yours, so when you get done helping everyone else concur their sin, you will take on your own.
