Deeper- Part V- Deeper Distinction

Introduction-II Corinthians 6:14-7:1

Thus far in our study of the Deeper Christian life we have introduced the concept of the deeper Christian life and we have explored the effect that it will have in the life of the believer.

We have seen how that it will produce a deeper love in our lives causing us to love those that we may have formerly considered unlovable.

It will also produce a deeper devotion to Christ, causing us to be willing to sacrifice other things in our pursuit of a closer relationship to Christ.

Today we will consider the transformation which takes place in the life of the believer who is drawn into this deeper relationship with Christ.

As we are drawn closer to Christ it is only natural that we should find a distance developing with the world. The closer we get to Christ, the further we are removed from the world and the more like Him we become the more unlike the world we shall be.

This ultimately produces what we will refer to today as a “Deeper Distinction.” As we deepen our relationship with Christ the difference between us and those who are yet in the world will become more drastic and pronounced.
