Efesios 2:18–22 (RVR60)

18 porque por medio de él los unos y los otros tenemos entrada por un mismo Espíritu al Padre.

19 Así que ya no sois extranjeros ni advenedizos, sino conciudadanos de los santos, y miembros de la familia de Dios,

20 edificados sobre el fundamento de los apóstoles y profetas, siendo la principal piedra del ángulo Jesucristo mismo,

21 en quien todo el edificio, bien coordinado, va creciendo para ser un templo santo en el Señor;

22 en quien vosotros también sois juntamente edificados para morada de Dios en el Espíritu.

18 For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father.

19 Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God,

20 having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone,

21 in whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord,

22 in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.

Propósito: Fijar cuál es la clase de comunión que tenemos con Dios, si es que la tenemos.

Purpose: To establish what kind of communion we have with God, if we have it.

-Vimos la tercera condición en la relación con Dios; hijos de Dios.

-We saw the third condition in the relationship with God; Children of God.

Hijos de Dios | Children of God

-Establecimos la diferencia entre los “hijos creados” y los “hijos engendrados”.

-We established the difference between “created children” and “begotten children.”

-Los “hijos engendrados”, se trata de especie espiritual.

-The “begotten children” are a spiritual species.

-Esto son todos aquellos que han experimentado una regeneración en sus mentes y en sus conciencias, como efecto de la palabra de Dios.

-These are all those who have experienced regeneration in their minds and consciences, as an effect of the word of God.

Condiciones de una relación con Dios | Conditions of a relationship with God

-La cuarta condición de nuestra relación con Dios es la de ser casa de Dios:

-The fourth condition of our relationship with God is that of being the house of God:

4. Morada de Dios | Dwelling place of God

-La palabra traducida como casa en la Biblia también tiene el significado de “templo”.

-The word translated as house in the Bible also has the meaning of “temple.”

-Pero la palabra “morada” que se usa en Efesios 2.22, tiene el significado de ser “una casa de mayor permanencia”.

-But the word “dwelling” used in Ephesians 2:22 has the meaning of being “a house of greater permanence.”

-El Antiguo Testamento habla del templo para referirse al edificio que se construyó en Jerusalén (edificio permanente) en remplazo del Tabernáculo (edificio portátil), una casa con el propósito de rendir culto al Señor.

-The Old Testament speaks of the temple to refer to the building that was built in Jerusalem (permanent building) to replace the Tabernacle (portable building), a house for the purpose of worshiping the Lord.

El antiguo Templo | The ancient temple

-El rey David tuvo el deseo de construir un templo permanente para Dios.

-King David had the desire to build a permanent temple for God.

-El Señor concede esta intención, pero fue Salomón, hijo de David quien construyó el templo en Jerusalén.

-The Lord grants this intention, but it was Solomon, son of David who built the temple in Jerusalem.

-Pero fue Salomón, hijo de David quien construyó este templo, con el propósito principal de dedicar un lugar para morada de la presencia de Dios.

-But it was Solomon, son of David who built this temple, with the main purpose of dedicating a place to dwell in the presence of God.

1 Entonces Salomón oró: «Oh Señor, tú dijiste que habitarías en una densa nube de oscuridad.

2 Ahora te he construido un templo glorioso, ¡un lugar donde podrás habitar para siempre!».

2º Chronicles 6:1–2 (NIV)

1 Then Solomon said, “The Lord has said that he would dwell in a dark cloud;

2 I have built a magnificent temple for you, a place for you to dwell forever.”

-Dios eligió esa casa para poner allí Su nombre.

-God chose that house to put His name there.

2º Crónicas 7:12–16 (RVR60)

12 Y apareció Jehová a Salomón de noche, y le dijo: Yo he oído tu oración, y he elegido para mí este lugar por casa de sacrificio.

13 Si yo cerrare los cielos para que no haya lluvia, y si mandare a la langosta que consuma la tierra, o si enviare pestilencia a mi pueblo;

14 si se humillare mi pueblo, sobre el cual mi nombre es invocado, y oraren, y buscaren mi rostro, y se convirtieren de sus malos caminos; entonces yo oiré desde los cielos, y perdonaré sus pecados, y sanaré su tierra.

15 Ahora estarán abiertos mis ojos y atentos mis oídos a la oración en este lugar;

12 the Lord appeared to him at night and said: “I have heard your prayer and have chosen this place for myself as a temple for sacrifices.

13 “When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among my people,

14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

15 Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place.

16 I have chosen and consecrated this temple so that my Name may be there forever. My eyes and my heart will always be there.

-De esta manera, toda persona que quería tener contacto con Dios debía acercarse a esta casa, y esto por medio de los sacrificios.

-In this way, every person who wanted to have contact with God had to approach this house, and this through sacrifices.

-Pero el templo en Jerusalén fue destruido dos veces. ¿Porqué? Tal vez porque ese no era el plan original de Dios.

-But the temple in Jerusalem was destroyed twice. Because? Maybe because that was not God's original plan.

3 Pero esa misma noche Dios le dijo a Natán:

4 «Ve y dile a mi siervo David: “Esto ha declarado el Señor: no serás tú el que construya una casa en la que yo viva.

Hechos de los Apóstoles 17:24–25 (RVR60)

24 El Dios que hizo el mundo y todas las cosas que en él hay, siendo Señor del cielo y de la tierra, no habita en templos hechos por manos humanas,

25 ni es honrado por manos de hombres, como si necesitase de algo; pues él es quien da a todos vida y aliento y todas las cosas.

24 “The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by human hands.

25 And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything. Rather, he himself gives everyone life and breath and everything else.

El nuevo templo | The new temple

-El plan de Dios no era tener una casa hecha de piedra, sino una casa espiritual en la que pudiera morar permanentemente.

-God's plan was not to have a house made of stone, but a spiritual house in which he could dwell permanently.

-Es por esto que Dios ha determinado en Su gracia, no solo hacernos Sus hijos, sino que ha querido morar en nosotros.

-This is why God has determined in his grace not only to make us His children, but he has wanted to dwell in us.‌

-La iglesia es la morada de Dios.

-The church is the dwelling place of God.

La santificación | Sanctification

-Para hacer esto posible, fue necesaria la obra de Dios a través de Cristo. Dios tenía que perdonarnos, comprarnos, justificarnos y regenerarnos.

-To make this possible, the work of God through Christ was necessary. God had to forgive us, buy us, justify us and regenerate us.

-Luego de hacer posible el cumplimiento de esta secuencia de aspectos que encierra la salvación, Dios inicia la gran tarea de santificarnos.

-After making possible the fulfillment of this sequence of aspects that salvation entails, God begins the great task of sanctifying us.

-La santificación es la doctrina que enseña la separación que Dios hace de aquellos que creen en El. Dios los ha adquirido para que sean dedicados para un culto nuevo y espiritual, y para una vida en santidad.

-Sanctification is the doctrine that teaches the separation that God makes of those who believe in Him. God has acquired them so that they may be dedicated for a new and spiritual worship, and for a life in holiness.

-Esta separación no se ha hecho por cause de los méritos humanos, sino por medio del sacrificio de Cristo.‌

-This separation has not been made because of human merits, but through the sacrifice of Christ.

14 porque con una sola ofrenda hizo perfectos para siempre a los santificados.

-En consecuencia a esta obra, los creyentes debemos vivir de tal manera que nos mantengamos separados moralmente del pecado.

`-Consequently to this work, believers must live in such a way that we remain morally separated from sin.

19 Hablo en términos humanos, por la debilidad de su naturaleza humana. Así como para practicar la iniquidad presentaron sus miembros para servir a la impureza y la maldad, ahora, para practicar la santidad, presenten sus miembros para servir a la justicia.

19 I am using an example from everyday life because of your human limitations. Just as you used to offer yourselves as slaves to impurity and to ever-increasing wickedness, so now offer yourselves as slaves to righteousness leading to holiness.

-La santificación no es solo una obra de purificación de nuestra conciencia y del estado de nuestra nueva naturaleza. La santificación es también la habilitación de nuestro cuerpo para que sirva de “templo” de Dios.

-Sanctification is not only a work of purification of our conscience and the state of our new nature. Sanctification is also the enabling of our body to serve as a “temple” of God.

Nuestra unión con Cristo | Our union with Christ

-La presencia del Espíritu de Dios en nosotros hace que estemos unidos a Cristo.

-The presence of the Spirit of God in us makes us united to Christ.

Efesios 3:14–17 (RVR60)

14 Por esta causa doblo mis rodillas ante el Padre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo,

15 de quien toma nombre toda familia en los cielos y en la tierra,

16 para que os dé, conforme a las riquezas de su gloria, el ser fortalecidos con poder en el hombre interior por su Espíritu;

-Dios no solo quiere que seamos Sus hijos, El quiere morar en nosotros mediante la unión con Cristo.

-God not only wants us to be His children, He wants to dwell in us through union with Christ.
