Good morning church.

You're welcome, Barb.

There's been dry all day and the auction is last night. And let's be honest. I walked in and saw that one. But so whenever you come over to my house.

Tacos.

I'm leaving preaching over the last couple weeks, talk to me about a simple church is still with real people with real issues. And maybe that's why this and sit with you. Well, if you don't really understand what that means, but the purpose of it. Is that you? And I might be able to connect and understanding that none of us are perfect. Are. What's the most searches honest with itself above where we're at, and what we're going through and then what we're dealing with. You all have problems and issues. And we started 2 weeks ago, talking about it. And the problem the address was the problem of Pride and the issues that will come from, that will be a fundamental block building, is that fried is the central part of all of our struggles. Is sailfish into stems from the importance that I often play some myself, over others, to be strive to continue in this series to keep it real and to keep it simple. We're going to Jump Right In The Deep End. If you will on this morning, there's a number of things that I asked you to. I asked you that your heart and mind be open to the words of God. I asked you to think only of yourself and not of others. They will waive just talked about being selfish. Yeah, but I'm more talking about examining your face. Whether you were in the faith is Paul tell the church at Foreman, at the end of the second letter. This morning, we're going to be looking at. Self-righteousness is a sin. Pretty simple, isn't it? Hebrews 4:13, the Bible read. And no creature. The older naked and exposed to the eyes of him.

There's something that place us church if legs Christians all across the globe and it has for a long time. Except for some reason, when we often come to yard. We've been in his grace and his Mercy, our whole lives. And for Generations, we become hottie. We become prideful. We become self righteous. The world can see us but we often can.

And Hebrews chapter 4 verse talking about the words of God in this morning. I beg of you to open your mind and your heart to know and self-righteousness is something that we struggle with. Self-righteousness is a sin and we'll talk about it and it hinders our influence for Christ. The biggest issue that the world has with Christians is that their preaching doesn't match up with their practicing. It's something you hear and see all the time. Talk to our young people about why they struggle with the authorities. Because the authorities, say, maybe things that are true, but they don't see it anywhere eel and personal. Way. They give you this morning. To examine yourself and your own self-righteousness. That we might be better for God. Others did Jesus Christ speak. Talk about it in Bible class this morning. Jesus served in his sacrifice and he preached and he taught. It was the same and house-to-house in the temple and in the synagogue and he loves Balance. It was relatable.

There was a disconnect with some people. The main group of people that there was a disconnect with, with Jesus was the self-righteous. The ones that were actually looking for, Jesus missed him because of self-righteousness. Often, the ones closest to God, God's people struggle with self-righteousness William, right? And you were wrong. What does that look like? Wild salmon in this morning together again? I ask that you only think of your own mind and your own hearts and your own struggles. Happened to look at comes from the book of Romans enrolling there dealing with division, Jew and Gentile.

In chapter one and talk to all the ways of the world, not the Jewish background with the, the ways of the world in gentile. People are they are far from God you and things that are ungodly with Roman chapter. Do you know the words change? Therefore you have? No, excuse of a man. Every one of you who judges passing judgment on one another, you condemn yourself because you the judge practice the very same things. We know that the Judgment of God rightly falls on those who practice such things. Do you suppose? Oh man, he writes you who judge those, who practice such things and yet, to do them yourself, that you will escape the Judgment of God.

What do you presume on the riches of his kindness and for parents and patients not knowing that God's kindness is meant to lead you to repentance.

But because of your hard and impending hard, he writes Paul does to the church at Rome. A Church of God's people. He writes these words to

You understand. He writes this letter to Christians, in this new testament error of his new age. After Jesus Christ has gone back to be with his father. He writes and talks about the self righteousness. A real issue for God's people, not just here, but it's been since the beginning what it is real so often. Say, but we are God's people. What do Christians? Often say, but I am a Christian Ergo that makes me better than you. Maybe we don't say it like that. But I guess the world see it often that way.

Clearly, you are snoring up for raft for yourself on the day of Wrath. But God's righteous judgment will be revealed. He will render to each one according to his ability, by patients enrolled doing seek for Glory and Honor and mortality. He will give eternal life. But for those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, there will be wrath and fury him, there only tribulation and distress for every human being who does evil the Jew first and also the Greek. Throughout the Book of Romans those words, a glory and honor and peace for everyone who does good. Did you first? And also the Greek for God shows? No partiality this morning, if you talk about self righteousness, realize it's the biggest hindrance for other people to come to Christ. And if you and the people that say they are God's people.

Don't disconnected from yourselves. Please don't think me. I wish. So and so was here today. They are self-righteous and needs it. That's the point of the sermon. We'll get to that in a moment. Number one that self-righteous are constantly passing judgment. It's like it has become their job or their duty to always pass judgment again. Go back to Romans chapter 2 verse 1 and 2. Therefore you have no excuse. Oh man, everyone of you who judges for The Passing judgment on another. You condemn yourself. They have made it their life's mission. Christian doesn't often meet at their life mission to tell everybody about the judgments and which are proclaiming, don't you know how ungodly that is? Don't you know how unrighteous that is? Now those things may be true, but when there's a disconnect from the attitude of always judge me. The living death. Celebration cinema. They should sound very similar to a package. You see in The Sermon on the Mount. Judge, not that ye be not judged for with the Judgment you pronounce. You will be judged. She went to measure, you used. It will be measured to you. Why do you see the spec? And we're so often quick to see the speed that is, in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your phone. It is inevitable search.

It's in all of my experience and I would say that you're probably can relate to this as well. The people.

Including yourself when I say something to K. You really should be doing that and you can Right, you can see their organs. You can see their self righteousness. You know why, I asked you to

My whole life, I could see it in others, but I can't see it in myself. But because that's who I am. I can see it the same and you shouldn't be like that yet. I live this way. The problem is, is making a Matthew chapter 7. You see the spec. It's not that there's not a speck. You're not saying things that are true. It said you have a log in your eye that you are not taking out. That church is just not very loving, that church is just not a very welcoming since the person who is most often unloving for unwelcoming. It's easy to see this fact. And everyone else is I as you walk around with a plank in our own, the self-righteous are often constantly consistently passing judgment on everything around them.

Self-righteous. Supposedly will stay back to Romans 2:3. Do you supposed? Oh, man, she writes you who judge those who practice such things and you had to do them yourself that you will escape the Judgment of God. How many people really believe that they're going to go to hell? Ever been to a funeral that I've never heard or been a part of a funeral, no matter the person. We're like, you straight to the fiery, Gates of Hell, never been to one and very few people. I would say such a thing. He's in a better place. He was a good man. I've been to a number of funeral. For those things were said, then like are we Did you know this person the wrong place? Cheerleader, that died.

Do you suppose? Oh, man. You who judge those? Who practice such things. Again. Do them yourself that you escaped me often. The self-righteous often say, we'll see what I have gone to Greece. God will forgive me of the things that I struggle with your trouble at those things. Stop struggling with those things that will cast you into hell, fire and brimstone coming for you, if you don't change.

The right self-righteous to post, they will escape.

You self-righteous presume on the kindness of God. Again. If you go back through we read it. First, you go back through and you look at these Point desert. Do you presume on the riches of his kindness and you know in your heart? It's morning. This is how you justify stuff in your life. This is why you justify the areas where you haven't grown. This is why you justify the problems that you have, the send that you struggle with. God is good. Send his son to die for me. You presume on the riches of his kindness in forbearance and patience not knowing the purpose of God's grace. The purpose of God's. Mercy is to bring you leads you to repentance in the Bible says This is a gift for all Grace has appeared to all men, but it's 1:11. Salvation has appeared to all men, but draining us though. BG chapter 2 says it is a gift and it's the grace of God. I wish you were saved through faith. Not of your own worthless. Anyone should boast that gravy stuff is supposed to lead you to repentance.

Self-righteousness is. We'll look at all the things that I do for you. God. I am good, others are bad. But don't you don't say that that way. But what do you really say in your heart, but I'm consistently judging everyone and everything around me and I always presume the worse than others, but justify myself and excuses for myself.

I presume on the riches of God. Download Skate judgment because God is good. And I am righteous.

Something to note this morning. I will render judgment on the self-righteous.

Go back to Romans chapter two for yourself because you said this judgment Matthew chapter 7 set this measurement of the way that everybody else is supposed to live. And you're not living in yourself. You are story rap for yourself on the day, when God's righteous judgment will be revealed. You go back to Matthew chapter 7 in your mind and in your heart this morning hug, Lord, Lord. And He will say, to me, on that day. Lord Lord, don't you remember the ministry that I was apart of? And be honest with you, just remote. Did you going to try to be honest with you every morning for the last?

Truly honestly, and beyond a shadow of a doubt. Will you look at this text and you read this thing that I relate to?

oftentimes, Preachers in this way.

Three's Company that I can get and I looked when people say that you don't look like a preacher. I said that I'm just trying to look like Jesus. I don't want to look like at 3.

Add features. If you ever seen two preachers who are a loop.

And then what happens? You see on the news frequently? Oh, how the mighty have fallen.

You preaching, you do not practice and I'll be honest with you again. Not just as a preacher's that struggle with this. You have a real serious Ministry in your life. Be careful. Self-righteousness is right at the door knocking. See, how can we know that so strongly? Notice what he says he will render to each one before those two are self-seeking and do not obey the truth. Is he, but I'm doing all these things. Again, Matthew chapter 7. What does he say? Is the chapter goes on. Depart from me. I never knew you or workers of lawlessness, just because you have a Ministry. Just because you have a role that you're trying to glorify God. In doesn't make you better than anyone else. We all have a Ministry of some form of fashion. Just, because I've dedicated my life to 3. She doesn't make it any better than you just because you dedicated your life to the school, doesn't make you better than anybody else. Just because you've dedicated some part of your life. To this ministry, doesn't make you a higher quality of a person.

There will be tribulation in distress for every human being who does evil. Because when I take that Ministry and I'm naked that I use this as a justification, will God, look at all the things that I do and self-righteousness. But God, look at all this sermon that I preached. Bible classes that I teach that is verbatim a quote from Matthew chapter 7 in today's world. But I influence the lives of all of the children. I do all of these things. God self-righteousness is about what you do, but God's grace is not about that. Yes, you have to do. But notice is this? The sustaining and source is one self-righteousness is me, is my salvation. The other one is my salvation is found in God, there's a difference. And if we're not careful, What is that look like? Have some questions that I got from an article. If you want to reference, I can give it to you. I didn't put it in here, but I want you to see it with me. I don't want you to just look at them. you might struggle with self-righteousness, if you judge yourself Brothers, but overlook your own.

I can't believe they struggle with that.

You judge sin of others based on your own criteria.

You are more concerned about actions than hearts. You don't care really what they're going through or where they're at, or how they got there. You just want people to know how wrong it is, the way that they're living in that, you know, that it's wrong. You certainly you're better than that. You are more interested in judging than restoring. Because not only do we justify our own actions. We make the self-righteous, we make ourselves feel better and I can point out other people's sins to the island.

Has my favorites. You always have an excuse for everything about yourself. You always have a reason as to why it's okay to struggle with your sin. Why you have the problems and issues, but why God will forgive you? That Grace is not accepted with other people.

The problem with self-righteousness. Maybe if you didn't get it yet this morning, if you have taken God off of his throne and put ourselves there. You might be a self righteous self. I don't sure hear other people don't know as much truth is you. Preachers never struggle with that.

Older Christians never struggle with that. Other people don't obey God, as well as you.

Other people aren't quite as righteousness. God is pleased and proud of your accomplishments. You might not be able to hear the inflections with his sarcasm here. So make sure you listen. You are willing to stand on your own before on your Doctrine. I'm standing on your truth. God the world around me is falling and sin and false teaching, but hear your Godly Man stand strong.

Pride. How's the structure?

Does it really matter? Have solutely? In the gospels is self-righteous murder Jesus Christ.

Is the biggest reason why people do not come to Jesus is because of Christian. So frightened, now, you can say, well that's just an excuse. Yeah, but there's a reason why it keeps coming up here. There's a reason why they have their hat to hang on one major points. It's good. We pretend to be something that we're not. All the world is asking, is for some honesty at the least, we can get them because I cannot save myself. God already knows my sins. I have nothing to hide from you, but yet often we do. Is this something we need to go out of? Yes, it did hinders our influence for God in his glory for the image of his son. It will cost us our souls when we depend on our self and not on God in his son. The question, are you asking? Can we? Absolutely. But it's going to take a dedication. So this morning, I have some things I want you to look at. Maybe you're still confused as to what we're talking about. Let me give you some Bible examples in the Book of Luke chapter 18. He also told this Parable to some truck that I want you to see the picture. That's the purpose of the parable. Some of the trusted in themselves that they were righteous. Read others with just him, two men went up into the temple to pray. One of the Pharisees. They kept the law today. Paul went about doing God's will or so. We thought stall at the time, the coats of those who, don't even think he's doing God's work self-righteousness.

One Affair. See in the other tax collector Pharisee standing by himself. Pray to God. You can hear it. God. I thank you that I am not like other men. Extortioners and the unjust, and the adult resort even like comparison judgment this tax collector. I fast like the week. I get tired of all that I get. Thank God. I'm not like other men.

I go to church. I have a Ministry, not influence the lives of others.

God, you're welcome. On your gift to mankind.

But the tax collector standing far off would not even lift up his eyes to Heaven. How arrogant are we? Wrapped up in our own self-righteousness.

That by doing all of the things.

We can get to heaven.

Salvation is not something you see. It is beyond the shadow of a doubt. I believe I do good things, good things will happen to me and then what happens when bad things happen to me? I am beyond the man of God and I preach and I teach I do all of these things. I do all of these things.

Could not even lift up his eyes to heaven. But be is Brett saying God, be merciful to me a sinner. I tell you, Jesus says this, I tell you this man went down to his house Justified rather than the other. Use a tax collector Pharisee by his nature, was better than him, right?

For everyone who exalts himself.

Maybe that's not enough for you. Matthew chapter 23, when Jesus is going to

Chapters in Chelsea in the Bible. The Jesus said to the crowd into his disciples, the tribes in the Pharisees, sit, on Moses to see. So do men observe whenever they tell you notice. The point is not what they were saying.

Sometimes we lose. You have their, what? They tell you. They're keep telling me. You got to love God with all. My soul. You got to get up. You got to sacrifice.

Whatever they tell you. That they do for they preach. But they do not practice.

They tie up heavy burdens hard to bear and leave them on the people's shoulders. A day themselves, are not willing to move them with their finger. That's not my job. Not me. I'm busy friend. That's different. They do all their deeds to be seen by others.

They make their phylacteries Broad. And their friends is long, and they love the place of honor is peace in the best seats in the synagogues. Can you believe had the auction last night? They put us over in the corner, me? Josei dusty, but they were all the way over here. No one could actually see us. Don't they know who we are out with Joe Laura?

John Mark and Kristen all Matthew and Mary, they know.

I can't wait to go pick that table to hit. That was all that was left. I wanted to be down front and the preacher. I deserve a place of honor. Please note my sarcasm.

And they loved the place of honor at the feast in the best seats in the synagogues. I skipped out not going to read the whole chapter. I want to hear the words of your saved and he said both you scribes and Pharisees Hypocrites. For you tithe is mentioned. Dylan come in and have neglected the weightier matters of the law, Justice and mercy and faithfulness. That is what he says. He needs. You ought to have done without neglecting the others.

Do what they say, even though they're not doing in Jesus, pointing out to those who are here. You blind guy, screaming out in that and swallowing a camel. World Champ. Scribes and Pharisees Hypocrites. For you clean the outside of the tub. We get ourselves all dolled up for Sunday worship. We get everything ready or clean on the outside of the cup and the Flames but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgent. Because when we come to worship, it's more about ourselves than it is about worshipping God, right? We would never say that out loud. How often is it? The cake? Who is the preacher would preach shorter or longer last for longer? But because it's different that I wish we could yada yada blah, blah, blah. And we make it all about ourselves. But I don't know if you know this person has thought about you. Let me worship Isabel about any of us, become to worship. God, the creator of the world who sent his son to die for you. But how we get wrapped up in our own Self Indulgence? Can you blind Pharisee first in the inside of the cup things? Jesus has already said things, we saw in Romans Chapter 2 inside of the cup in the plate that the outside maybe clean also. Did you open your mouth? Talk to me with your lips? But your hearts are far from me will do scribes and Pharisees Hypocrites. For you were like whitewashed tombs, which

So beautiful. But within our full of dead people's bones is all uncleanness, your heart matters. Your attitude. Matters the way you view, the people around you with nobody else might know rather. We started with Hebrews 4:13. You cannot hide that from God.

So you also out early appear righteous to others but within you are full of hypocrisies eat. And lawlessness. Will do use scribe and Pharisees Hypocrites for you, build the tombs of the profits and you decorate the monuments of the righteous saying if we had lived in the days of our fathers, we would not have taken part with them and shedding in the blood of the prophets. You don't say that. But you know, what we do say, if I was in front of me, Shirley, I would know and believe what I will do. I will just no way. I could have sent him to the Cross. He healed to take me to blind to see Lazarus. I would have believed. Stay the self-righteous.

He had believed the living Days of our fathers. Do not of taking part with them and shedding the blood of the prophets. The key witness against yourself, you make this judgment, this measure. You're constantly passing his judgment. You're constantly setting yourself up to realize that you cannot meet your own stand, at the problem with being judgmental. That's the problem with being self-righteous. You're holding everybody up to this. Damn that you refused to meet yourself to use drives and Pharisees.

Fill up then the measure of your father's disturbance. You brood of vipers. How are you to escape being sentenced to hell? Was our points and self-righteous going to be rendered in judgment.

Therefore, I send you profit than wise, man, as we have a prophecy and scribes some of who you will kill and crucify, some, you will flog in your synagogue because of their righteousness. You said, you cannot stay these things, the book of Acts, and you will persecute them from town to town. That upon you may come all the righteous Bloodshed on Earth from the blood or able to book of Zechariah, the son of beer, who you murdered between the sanctuary in the altar. Truly. I say to you all these things will come upon this generation.

Yen's is chapter with the crying out to Jerusalem. Jerusalem Jerusalem, say that killed the prophets and Stones those who are sent to it. How often please hear, how often I would gather you. The Son of God says together as a hen covers, her brief for safety and protection, and salvation under her witty's and you were not willing why? Because you stood on your own salvation. You still do it on your own righteousness. You didn't need to head to protect you as a murder, the prophets and the people of God be your house has left. You definitely try tell you, you will not see me again until you say blessed. Is he who In The Name Of The Lord.

Self-righteousness is Accenture.

Is often found most prevalent? And the ones that are striving to be close to God to be. See if you go through the Old Testament, you see with the priest.

You see it with the King.

You come to the New Testament, you see it with the churches.

You come to this place amongst ourselves. the question is, give me humble ourselves to admit that we struggle with this.

Is only a question you need to answer.

So you say you a little bit about preaching creases? I strive to be open and honest with you always cuz it helps me to remain humble. I don't really care about the word that I say. Or how often I misused or abused. English language helps. Keep me humble. You all laugh at me and we moved out our daily lost. Casino off from, from this platform becomes about whoever is up here and not about God. Geologist laugh at me and treat me down here. And to be honest, it's always a struggle. I've dedicated my life to Ministry. Did you have dedicated your life to Main Street and had to lead them to crucify? The Son of God self-righteousness church is a sin and causes us to hinder our influence for God's glory and his son. It is not about you. You are saved by the grace of God. There's no number of good things that you could do to fix that. Skin problem. That's why Jesus died. Please never forget it. Nancy continuar Series in the upcoming weeks, your members Started With Pride moved into self-righteousness. And if you're sitting in this morning. That's not me. I pray you. I pray that you please examine your heart again. And if we were honest, we would say. It's all of us.

The office theme station this morning. The holdfast is the only one that can save us. Christ, the son of God, born of a virgin murdered on a cross rise. The third day. This is why we have salvation. This is we are created in His image of the workmanship Ephesians 2:10. Not that we might boast but that you and I might stay look what God has done in my life for his glory. Look how I have changed that I might influence others for God's glory. Not for my only. Let us never be like Matthew chapter 7, look, Lord, at all of the things that I do. And he said depart from me. I never knew you.
