Early church didn’t really have a MOM.
It really wasn't perfect and neither is the Church today
we are still formulating and calculating, what we believe.
we are still establishing the Church in Persecuting times! They have never gone away.
yet unlike the Early Church we may appear to take the church for granted—when in all actuality we could be gone tomorrow!
Key Points
Key Points
In this series “True Love,” we will discover by the Spirit, that this True Love is Worth Living For—not just Dying for!
We are not much different than that of the early church?
We still need to:
Give our all
Live for the cause of Christ, and
Die daily to the things that so easily distract us from The Way!
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.
This TRUE LOVE series is about those three words…
PURE — GENUINE — RELIGION
The acts we live out what we believe.
That which is clean, pure, free from corrupt desire and sin.
like a vine being pruning and so fitted to bear fruit
like fire refining the silver
What are those acts that we live by?
James notes three:
caring for the orphans
caring for the widows and
caring for yourself
Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you.

Fatherless or in this case…Motherless
= those bereft...
deprived or robbed of the possession or use of something
Motherless = those robbed of a teacher, guide, guardian. Such as an orphan.
In 2019, On any given day, there are nearly 424,000 children in foster care in the United States.
On any given day, there are 9,000 children in foster care in Oklahoma.
In Oklahoma, 500 children waiting to be adopted.
Here’s the rub...
there are only less than 6,000 foster homes in Oklahoma.
DHS, the Judicial system, CASA, therapists, counselors, and well meaning others are not enough--
Our children need one thing…MOM!
Make it personal

To decrease the Motherless in our lifetime we must stop the robbing.
NO one is robbing the kids clothes or possessions, they are being robbed of their parents.
We must safeguard the children from losing their MOTHER— who is their teacher, guide, and guardian.
We must return to the Bible for answers for discipling and mentoring.
SO LET’S START THERE:
M: Mother, to nurture and care for.
Even Jesus had a mother.
O: Overwhelming Love
M: Mentor
That one who wants to “go where You go,” “Do what you do.”
such as Naomi
Naomi is Ruth's mother-in-law
But Ruth replied, “Don’t ask me to leave you and turn back. Wherever you go, I will go; wherever you live, I will live. Your people will be my people, and your God will be my God. Wherever you die, I will die, and there I will be buried. May the Lord punish me severely if I allow anything but death to separate us!”
There are many principles to learn from Naomi and Ruth, but lets focus on these today:
vs6. Return to the Land of your Father’s
for spiritual renewal
vs16. Be determined to go the distance
better together
Ruth marries into the family of God
4:16. Naomi starts the cycle over again.

NEXT WEEK:
caring for WIDOWS
WEEK FOUR:
caring for YOURSELF (refusing to let the world corrupt you)
