If something doesn’t work its broken. If something isn’t working well it is faulty. If something isn’t working hard is lazy. If something is working it is good. Our faith is good because our faith works.
Biblical faith, is a living trust between us and our God. And we must distinguish biblical faith from general faith, and world faith, because not all faith is good faith.
2 Chronicles 20:20 “... put your trust in the Lord your God and you will be established. Put your trust in His prophets and succeed.””
Mark 11:22 “And Jesus answered saying to them, “Have faith in God.”
Not faith in crystals, not faith in ancestors, not faith astrology and horoscopes, sage, medicine, Dr, yourself.
(Classing examples of trust Chair, car, work)
As we embark upon this journey of biblical faith

Faith that Convinces

I’ve made up my mind. And I change it. The songwriter said, “you can’t make me doubt Him, I know too much about Him.” I am convinced and all because of my faith. And faith is not blind although it cant see.
Look at v.1. We have to look at this word for substance, assurance, Certainty.
The word here has so many different uses in antiquity its difficult to pinpoint exact the usage, but we still get the point. The word has to do with the undergirding reality of a thing.
Trust-Title Deed.
Evidence, Proof. I have some evidence.

Faith that Commends

It commends us before God. All that means is that our faith is what puts us into right standing with God by which he approves us. Even though our behaviour is not approved, our sin is not approved, our faith commends us.
So the Writer of Hebrews points us to the saints of old. If you want to know what a working faith looks like, look at the heroes and heroins of faith.
