Our faith is good because our faith works.

And we must distinguish biblical faith from general faith, and world faith, because not all faith is good faith.
2 Chronicles 20:20 “... put your trust in the Lord your God and you will be established.

I am convinced and all because of my faith.
And faith is not blind although it cant see.

We have to look at this word for substance, assurance, Certainty.
The word here has so many different uses in antiquity its difficult to pinpoint exact the usage, but we still get the point.
The word has to do with the undergirding reality of a thing.

I have some evidence.
Faith that Commends
It commends us before God.
All that means is that our faith is what puts us into right standing with God by which he approves us.
Even though our behaviour is not approved, our sin is not approved, our faith commends us.
So the Writer of Hebrews points us to the saints of old.
