Is anyone among you in trouble?
In church we have both those in trouble and going through a hard time and those that are rejoicing.
When we are going through a tough time we are to pray.
It is okay not to be okay.
When we are going through a tough time there is something about being around God’s people that are singing and rejoicing.
Seeking God’s comfort through prayer.
What is singing?
A form of prayer.
What is prayer talking to God.
When we sing a love song to our spouse what are we singing.
Our love and adoration.
Truly - Girl, tell me only this

Whispering the words "I'll always love you"

Sick - Suffering / Afflicted -
The word afflicted means “suffering in difficult circumstances.”
The phrase “in trouble” is a good translation.
Paul used this word to describe the circumstances he was in as he suffered for the Gospel’s sake (2 Tim.
2:9).
As God’s people go through life, they often must endure difficulties that are not the results of sin or the chastening of God.
Let them call - Admitting we need others and reaching out.
Us guys are the worst at this.
You need to know someone to call someone.
Who do we call in our suffering?
Elders of the church.
God fearing men.
Elders is plural why?
Healing Ministry of one person can inflate ego’s.
To do what?
Pray over them and their circumstance.
And to anoint with oil.
Oil could be medicinal or a symbol of God’s power and Spirit.
Prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up.
The “prayer of faith” is a prayer offered when you know the will of God.
The elders would seek the mind of God in the matter, and then pray according to His will.
My experience with healing ministries of others.
Prayed over my knee four times.
They seemed dejected.
God answered the prayer eventually through Drs.
If they have sinned, they will be forgiven.
Sometimes our suffering or affliction is from our own doing and sin in our life.
Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other.
The power of others.
Confess some sin to Pastor Mary.
- I wrote an email and added something that was not of the Lord.
The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.
Elijah was a human being, even as we are.
We pray to the Same God Elijah prays to.
But how did he pray?
He prayed earnestly.
If one of you should wander from the truth and someone should bring that person back
We all can have the tendency to drift.
Someone should bring that person back.
Whoever turns a sinner from the error of their way
2 Timothy 2:9 (NIV)
9 for which I am suffering even to the point of being chained like a criminal.
But God’s word is not chained.
Hebrews 10:24–25 (NIV)
24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
