Jacob fulfills prophecy but his deception comes at a cost. Esau is not as connected to his family traditions as he should be. He sells his birthright for soup. He marries pagan wives. Our parents have great influence in our lives, but they can't make us right with God. We must trust Christ for ourselves. We must live obedient to Christ and live by faith if we want the blessings of God.
